I got this to pair with my Samsung 65 inch curved JS9000 SUHD 4K tv. After hooking up & watching a couple 4K movies on it I wasn't shocked or amazed. Yes it looked good but wasn't crazy like I thought it was gonna be. My normal Blu Rays look just as good. From what I understand the current run of 4K movies aren't even true 4K they are 2K masters so maybe as more movies come out & Samsung updates the player we will see better things come out of this $400 player. Also the remote is horrible. Overall it's nice, does the job since it's the only 4K out right now but if you don't need it this very second then you should wait!!

Absolutely jaw dropping, stunning clarity and vivid colors. If you have a 2016 or up 4K tv than this is a must for you. This will take your blu rays from good to great! 4K content is breathtaking. I personally recommend the Revenant. Yes,it's a expensive player, but this is what you need with your expensive 4K tv. Must have!

My first impressions after removing it from the box were that it was extremely light weight and felt a little flimsy. I did not care for the curved front but I can live with that. Setup was easy and the user interface was a breeze to use. This unit does a great job upscaling DVDs, Blu-rays and 3D Blu-rays to 4K resolution and my 4K UHD movies look FANTASTIC on my OLED TV.

I was only one of two people that was able to get one when they came out in the store. I was very lucky to get one. If you like the 4K picture then having one of these would be worth the money. It is for me as I can really tell the difference in the picture and response time has improved from the regular blue ray player.

Only 4K Blu-Ray player on the market and it does not disappoint. Plays all of your old blu-rays including 3D and the UHD discs which don't look that much better but you can tell there is a difference. A little expensive but that is what you get as an early adopter

Compared to what Blu-Ray players cost when they first came out (1k) and how poorly they performed, $400 for a 4k player that supports all formats, includes streaming apps, and performs well is a good deal. The player itself is hideous and the remote is a joke, but it plays 4k discs quickly without issue and HDR looks great.

This 4K bluray player up scales regular bluray movies as well as my Sony 4K up scaling bluray player I was using before. However I probably wouldn't have purchased it had I known what I know now.I purchased 3 4K bluray movies and played them on this player,I see very little if any improvement between a regular bluray up scaled to 4K and an actual 4K movie.I have a Sony 65x850b 4K tv.This tv doesn't have HDR so I can't see the benefits of HDR on these movies.Maybe the difference will be more evident with a 4K animated movie. If you already have a good bluray player that up scales bluray to near 4K quality, you may want to wait at least until the price comes down later this year. The difference in picture quality just doesn't justify spending $400 for a 4K bluray player.Maybe this review will save you some money

Now I can finally use my 4K tv to its fullest potential. The only downside to this machine is the user interface for apps, it's the one that's on the only Samsung models, nothing like the interface on my UN55JS8500. The picture is amazing and so far, everything works great

First, I love technology. I love having the latest and greatest. Yet, as much as I read about the amazing picture quality and amazing sound that you get from the full use of a 4K tv, I had doubts. Second, I don't have the budget to re-buy the limited movies that are available in 4K. Nor do I want to buy second Independence Day movie that is now available in 4K. I did research and all I read were awesome reviews on picture quality and sound. So, I gave in and bought this 4K player, not 4K upscaler. I took it home and bought a couple movies in 4K. Immediately, I noticed that the picture quality was superb. The sound clarity was amazing! I decided to compare the picture quality with the DVD version. I was able to sync the movies to same exact spot. I changed the input from one device to the other. Surprise, not much of a difference in picture quality. You only notice a slight difference. When you're up close only. When your in a home and are doing the home theatre experience, you don't sit that close. The sound? Yes, there's a difference but really only if you have an expensive surround sound system with a subwoofer. For the price you're paying for this thing, you should get a guest pass to 4K content or something. Because it's not really worth it until they bring the prices down.

I was very skeptical at first of buying a 4K player. I was not a believer of spending the extra money just to get a little better picture . But paying only $199.00 for the player I decided to take a chance . It was totally worth it . The picture that you get using this player and your 4K TV with HDR is totally awesome. now let's see if we can get the 4K movies down in price

Wow, a DVD player that has features that make it easy to set up and operate and acutally delivers on the what it is supose to do. The delivery of the 4K ultra DVD's played on the Samsung 4K Ultra SUHD HDR TV takes you to the next level of viewing pleasure. So many friends that have watched, felt that some scenes almost looked 3 D and in any event, made you feel like you were almost part of the scenes . This machine also made older Non-Ultra DVD's a renewed viewing pleasure. This unit paired with the above TV will keep you enjoying your home sweet home.

I am sort of old school, and only use this to play blu-rays and dvds. But I really like how it connects with my Samsung tv to make some controls easier. The remote is a little weird. I prefer having the fast forward and rewind buttons being different than the skip forward/backward buttons. But other than that I like the remote. The 4K looks amazing, but I was most impressed with how well it upscaled some of my old dvds. I know a few dvds didn't look this good on a dvd player. It is perfect for what I use it for and couldn't be happier.

I bought this shortly after buying my 4k tv, so far i have had no problems. No skipping or delays. Its been a solid performer to date. Plays dvd, blu-ray, 4k, 3d. Has net features, but i haven't used them since i use them off the tv itself. For my use it was priced a bit high, but ...it's the only game in town

The picture and sound quality is great. There are extra peripherals that are needed for high end theaters to produce atmos sound. It cost me another 300 for the part. Remote control is terrible and no app for your phone. No fast forward button. I would wait for the Panasonic player before purchasing this one.

The Samsung 4k Ultra HD Blu-Ray player is worth every penny. I am using it with a Samsung 75" SUHD TV. They work seamlessly together. Set up was as simple as any DVD player. Hook up the HDMI cable, the Ethernet cable if using, plug it in you are good to go. The on screen set up menu led me through the settings, plus it did download new software. All told maybe 15 mins to swap out the old DVD, run through the set up, and new software. Good to go. I bought 6 4k DVDs, all work as advertised. Have also watched several Blu-ray DVDs, may be my imagination but even they look better. The 4k DVDs have almost a 3D depth to them, especially the opening scene of Deadpool. This is the future folks. Unlike 3D TV this is the real deal. I think the image improvement almost rivals the difference between video tape and DVD.

The UI can be a little clunky and not very straight forward in terms of organizing apps but that's not a big deal. All in all I'm happy with the performance and quality. I've always had good luck with Samsung products and that's no different with this. Some people have complained about the remote but I've had no problems with it at all. This one seems to keep getting less expensive so the value just keeps improving. I'd be hard pressed to find a reason to buy any other 4K HDR player.

When it comes to Native 4K HDR players, what choice do we have but this Samsung? : ) That being said, I have found this player to deliver great picture quality. It seems to impress with the quality of Native 4K disks and also upscales regular 1080p blu Rays quite well too. Now for my complaints. I feel the user interface could be a touch better. It just doesn't seem to flow as smoothly as it could, especially with adjustments. Also, I did find the player to be a bit "glitchy" at first. I think it has gotten better with updates. I think it takes a bit long for the disk door to open which is slightly annoying. The remote is simply laughably bad, for $400, there is absolutely no reason why Samsung should be providing this cheap of a remote. I'm not fussy with remotes, but this is just too small, too cheap and pretty inadequate. That being said, if you don't want to wait till the other players hit the market at an even more inflated price, this one will do the job and do it well.

I went from the BDJ 7500 to this player and there is a difference in up scaling and it looks better . HDR looks great while playing 4k blue rays and 3d movies are more clear . It has two HDMI outs one for video and one for audio. That is a plus for and older receivers to get true 4k resolution. The only two things lacking are no front display with run time and the remote is small and very basic . The player is awesome package this first of its kind so the price will be high .
