Found the price a bit high for the player but it currently is the only true 4K player currently out there. Fortunately after my purchase there was a price drop and I went back to Best Buy to get the difference back. Definitely love the ups along of blue rays and DVDs.

I have had a few weeks to use the player at this point and can safely say that it is a quality 4k player. Initial set up was easy and the menu system is as intuitive as other Blu-ray players. I am using this player through a Yamaha 4k receiver output to an Epson pro cinema 6040ub 4k capable projector on a 110" screen. The picture quality of 4k in HDR is truly amazing.

I was a bit worried that by getting the first 4K Blu-ray, I would be losing out on speed and functionality, built-in to newer players. The newest players do not have 3D which I enjoy on occasion [and happen to believe any high-end device should have]. If I have any gripe it's that this DVD player does not use the same interface Samsung's TVs do, so no ability to stream Spectrum natively. Regardless, I do see a difference in standard Blu-ray disc playback and I'm happy I didn't go with a newer player as most are reviewed as lacking and/orshow slower. Also not convinced that a video game console would have the same quality picture (pixels and frames).

Set up was easy, it would be faster if the remote was a bit larger. Video quality is superb.....as is the sound. It is a great addition to my Dolby 9.2 home theater (all from Best Buy). Looks great, too!

Samsung DVD Player produces excellent picture quality and sound as well. Remote is somewhat small but takes less storage space. and is easy to get used to.

Pretty happy with it so far. Not a lot of discs available so far and most are upgraded 2k masters so I can't really fully judge the quality yet. Up converted video quality is pretty darn good though and streaming quality is pretty good too.

Truly a great 4K player. Very fast start up and never freezers up or glitches. Picture quality with 4K movies is unlike anything I've ever seen. Makes even normal blu Ray movies look better!

Easily the best Bluray player I have ever owned. The wifi works great, the picture quality works great. 2 hdmi outs. 4k, hdr, 60 frames compatible. This player is a must for people with 4k TV's.

Make all your bluray movies look brand new and the dark movies like Dark Night Rises look brighter and 4K picture quality. Samsung - UBD-K8500 4K Ultra HD Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray is worth every penny.

Albeit the only 4K player model in the store but it works great. Videos are great. I will say that the remote is a little difficult to get the hang of. The same button for fast forward is also the jump forward depending on if you hold it or press once and release. Needless to say, I ended up jumping forward a lot when I just wanted to fast forward. But it can be learned. At least the remote is compact and fits in the hand well.

Really nice set, could have lived without the curve. Unit works as described and plays brilliantly, Still some issues with different TV's playing and making correct settings but for us early adopters get in now ;)

I really think this is the best player you can have, the picture quality is fantastic, the upscaling is like nothing I could have imagined. I have the Samsung HU8550 with the Evolution Kit, and not only is the streaming much faster but the quality looks so much better than if I were to stream through the TV. I also love how I have the option of a second HDMI for audio. I have a 4K Home Theater receiver, and I know all hook ups are HDMI 2.0 but I like having audio only going to the receiver, and the picture going to the TV so I know I'm getting the best picture I could get. The remote is a little bare bones, it has all the buttons you would need but nothing more.

I have had this player for about a month and it plays every disc just fine. Have some 4k movies and they look spectacular on my 60 inch 4k Samsung tv. You will not be disappointed when you buy this player.

Very good quality player, plays 4k ultra, bluray, standard dvd. Just keep in mind besides having player and 4k ultra dvd you need a 4k ultra tv as well. Great picture!

Great 4K player; watched my first 4K movie and it looks great. The upscale on regular blu-rays is excellent

Considering there are only 2 true 4K drives on the market and this one was NOT $600+, it was a easy choice going with the Samsung. They make good quality products....not including phones.lol. I also received price match which netted me a extra $120 off the listed price. Was easy to hookup, connect to my network and then play 4k content. I do have a issue with the Hobbit sized remote. In the end it's a good drive, still too pricey but functions as advertised. 4 stars for remote and price even with the discount.

I waited until the price was close to 200 and I finally bought this unit. I've had a 4K Samsung tv for over a year, but now I finally got to see actual 4K on it. The first disc I bought was John Wick and it's a perfect movie to test all the aspects of the picture. You do need to tweak some settings to make sure the apps come out in upscaled 4K, but other than that it hasn't given me any problems.

I kept waiting for a sale on this product and when I saw it was marked down, I jumped on it! So glad I did! Easy to use with fantastic picture quality!

So far so good I haven't had any issues I would give it five stars if I could see a significant between blu Ray and 4K, 4K definitely brings out the color more but picture quality is a little better not by much

Being a person that watches alot of movies this 4k bluray player is exactly what I needed. You will need a 4k tv and a new 4k hdmi cable (about $25) but it is completely worth it. The movie quality is much better. Being an upscaler it will also improve the quality of any DVDs and Blurays that you play on it. Any media that you connect to it is also upscaled in quality.
