I paired the M9700 with my Samsung SUHD 3D TV using a UHD HDMI cable, and set up was done in less than 5 minutes. This was amazing, because Samsung products, which I like very much, are sometimes a bit more involved than plug and play. Off to a good start, I then loaded Jurassic World on BD and was totally amazed at the quality of both video (True 4K UHD) and audio (Dolby True HD and DTS HD). With a quick connect to your Wi-Fi, Netflix, Amazon, and other streaming sites are readily available. All you have to do is sign in to be good to go. Also, the M9700 can play CDs, mirror with your Android smartphone’s/tablet’s little screen onto the TV’s big screen, and it provides Bluetooth connection. Using the player’s remote, it turns on the Samsung TV (can’t speak to other brands) at the same time as the player; however, when you use the same remote to turn off the player, it does not turn off the TV….an annoyance, but not enough for me to downgrade the player’s performance. For the price, I would have expected 3D to have been included, but I knew no 3D going in. Bottom line, the M9700 is a top shelf device providing excellent video and audio output…another Samsung job well done!

This DVD player is expensive. But, in my opinion if you want a theater viewing experience this is a great buy.

Player works as listed. Really makes our Samsung 55 inch TV come to life as colors and clearness.

Great picture and sound quality. Bought to go with my new Samsung QLED Q90R 65 inch 4k tv.

This was easy to set up with our Samsung 70" tv. the picture and sound are excellent.

This machine has it all - 4K, streaming, Blu-Ray, CD,s, DVD's, advanced audio (Dolby 7.1), HDR supported, BT, Wi-Fi, displays 360 degree photos & video, will scale lower resolution video upward, good color and picture for sure, surround sound capable, with, of course, apps to use Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play Video, Internet, various music services and many more. In short, the M9700 Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player is a Samsung concentric hub for your home theater. In most cases, this device can be your only "box" in the media mix - unless you're a gamer then just add your game console of choice. My only con is with the remote - it's small and simple to use, but mine seems to work sometimes rather than all the time. Don't know if that's just an intermittent connection in the battery case or something else. Also (I don't think this has anything to do with the 9700) my sound isn't synced with the movie (Blu-Ray or 4K) - you must have High Speed HDMI cables to your TV and sound system and I suspect my so-called High Speed HDMI cable is flaky. I didn't see any other reviewers comment on this so I'm convinced it's not the 9700. My suggestion is to be sure you have a bonafide High Speed/HD+ HDMI cable(s) on hand.

This is an excellent upgrade over Samsungs original 8500 model. This model is much faster.

This is our first time buying a 4K player and I think we made a great choice. It is a lot faster to load other apps and watch our shows/movies.

I have enjoyed the devise for blue Ray’s but it also assists with Netflix etc in the way it is optically hooked up to my TV. Buy it you will like it.

I purchased this product when my internet was not working and I am 100% satisfied with the player. With the right combo of surround sound and tv this player provides a great experience.

Having had the opportunity to test this unit directly after the M9500 I can say it is better. In general this player is very good as well. Provides crisp video and easy menu operation. In the Box: - Samsung - UBD-M9700 Player - Power Cord - Remote (Batteries included!) - User Manual Operation: The menu is slightly different from the M9500 with better overall operation and ease of use. Many of the actual features are the same so not much of a difference that I saw. Small fact is that the print on the remote is brighter on the M9700 vs M9500. Its a small detail but something that made usage better. Both units were able to be setup and used with a universal remote without a problem. The outside of the two units are identical from what I can tell but they are fairly long so take that into account if using within a cabinet. In our setup we cannot access the side USB port due to this fact so it is something to note. The DLNA feature is very quick for streaming pictures and videos from a Network Storage device. Streaming was quick and I did not experience any problems there. Pros: - Quality Build and Attractive Design - Ease of Navigation - Features - Fast DLNA Cons: - USB Port on side - Little Long Overall a high quality, top of the line Blue-Ray player that provides anything you will ever need in a player and more!
