I'm typically a fan of Samsung products, and this Blu Ray player did not disappoint. Honestly, it's kind of an understatement to just refer to this as a Blu-Ray player, that's just one of the many functions. There are a ton of apps to choose from and if you have an UltraHD TV, the picture quality is fantastic. If you have something like Netflix's UltraHD package, this is a great way to get the full benefits of it. Make sure you have an Ultra HD HDMI cable or your picture quality won't be at the highest.
As with most tech these days, set-up was a breeze. Power and HDMI hooked up, connect to WiFi, log into your streaming account(s), and you're pretty much good to go. I haven't experienced any connectivity issues with WiFI, streaming has been very smooth. This player is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality (picture, Blu Ray, apps) cannot be beat.

A couple of years ago I switched to almost all digital with my movie collection. Since testing the UBD-M9700, I am blowing the dust off my Blu-Ray cases and buying new 4K disc. This Samsung is meant for someone building a Media Experience and not just buying a dvd player. It is truly remarkable as a movie buff (self-proclaimed of course), to watch movies and be wowed as if switching from VHS. It may be coincidental but I also have a Samsung sound bar and the two paired perfectly for amazing sound. The unit has become my multimedia HUB (a title once held by my gaming console). Long story short this beautiful device has a beautiful picture and beautiful sound output making for a one of kind media pleasure to repeat repeatedly.

I love this player. The colors are bright and the setup was easy. Pleanty of apps installed and the Netflix app plays better than my Roku and smart TV. My favorite feature is being able to stream the blu-rays and dvds to my phone. This player is getting a lot of use.

I was very excited to try my first 4K dvd movie night. We got the new Samsung unboxed and plugged in quickly and easily. It has a nice curved front and is smaller than my older BluRay DVD player. It connected easily to my internet with onscreen instructions. It comes with the typical apps like Netflix. We had done a little research and purchased our dvd movie we thought we would enjoy and at the same time showcase the 4K viewer experience. We chose Hostiles hoping we would enjoy the outdoor panorama. When we loaded the disk, it hummed quite loudly as it read the dvd. From that point it was very much like any BluRay dvd we’ve watched. I can truthfully say that our old tube plasma tv had a better display than any led we’ve owned. The 4K experience was ho hum. Can’t say if it was my tv, the dvd or the Samsung DVD player but I won’t be paying the extra money to pick 4K. The DVD player is nice but nothing special. By the way, Hostiles was great.

Setup is ultra simple with the on screen instructions. Netflix, amazon and many more apps to enjoy. Picture on my Samsung 4k curve tv is as good as it gets. The only negative thing which is no big deal to me is it will not play 3d discs. The movies on Netflix and other apps are fine in 3d however.

This is a perfectly serviceable bluray player with the standard streaming functions. Most of the common online services are available but not all. I did have issues with some apps crashing, but that's probably more the fault of the different services and not the player. Like most Samsung devices, the remote integrates with a Samsung TV but not other brands. Good enough, but nothing sets this player particularly apart from the rest.

I’ve always had great experiences with Samsung TVs and Blu-ray/DVD players, and this 4K model is delivering the picture quality I hoped for with my new Samsung 4K HDR TV. When my wife commented that the picture almost seemed to be 3D, then I knew that my loyalty to Samsung was justified. I was fortunate to pick this up at a great sale price on Black Friday, but even if I’d paid more, the difference over our 1080p Blu-ray would have been worth it. Just be sure to get HDMI cables rated for the highest 4K signal transfer to ensure the best possible home theater experience.

I bought his today The remote failed on the first 4k and then my $3,500 LG tv from Best Buy said the format wasn't compatible. The store replaced it and the second remote failed half way through the movie though the picture was very sharp.
