I bought this to upgrade from my 40" LCD Sony Bravia. I didn't want to spend a ton of money, so this entry level seemed to be a great price for the size. I ended up taking this back and exchanging it for the 55" LED Sony Bravia. It seems with the larger TV screens, you get what you pay for. With this Samsung, my 720p cable looked great; no glitches, great contrast. Now, when i started using my PS3 and watching X-Men in 1080p BluRay, the hiccup started to appear. It was extremely minor and hard to notice, which actually made it even more annoying because you would question yourself whether you saw it or not. The picture quality on the movie looked like pre-post production. It looked like you were on the set. I decided to order some premium Mediabridge HDMI cables that support 4k, 3D and 240Hz. The cables did not improve the performance of the TV. I also hooked up my PC through HDMI to theTV and noticed the same performance issues on a 40GB MKV file of Avengers. The following week, I exchanged it for the Sony 55". The Sony is SO much better (which i would hope it would be for almost double the price). If you are looking for a 55", I would suggest spending the roughly $1500 on a mid-range model.

This TV has a great picture, but I do have some issues with the TV. Once I turn the TV on it shows that I have no signal to the HDMI input. I have a Xbox 360 connected to one input and a HDMI switch connected to the other input. It doesn't seem to matter if the connected device is on or off, it shows no signal. So I end up turning the cable box on and off multiple times until the TV recognizes the signal. Truly frustrating.

First off, 3 Stars is NOT BAD! This isn't a negative review, just a critical one. This TV isn't stellar but it will do for most people. I also can't speak for the 3D because I have yet to use it. Pros: - Sharp Picture - 120 hz is more than sufficient for movies - Well priced - Reliable Cons: - Only two HDMI port. TWO! - Composite double as componet feeds as well - No computer port, must sacrifice an HDMI space. - NOT intended for gaming. Noticible screen lag. My 60hz 50" Samsung performs much better. This is more or less an obsolete model. If need a base unit to watch TV and movies and can find this for cheap, then it's worth the buy. If you want a dedicated gaming display, or something so serve as a media station, then look elsewhere.

While it is not a top tier 1080P television, it does produce a decent picture especially for the price.

Had this tv for 93 days when the picture decided it did not want to work any more. Tried to take it back to best buy but because it was 3 days past their return/exchange policy had to deal with geek squad coming out to replace the picture board. Great experience with geek squad but it took forever to get the parts.

The picture is wonderful, but no one tells you that you HAVE to buy a sound bar with this unit, making the value less than expected. None of the sales team told us to watch for this issue. The sound can't even be heard on the TV from 20 feet away. It is really sad the manufacturer missed on this critical quality.

I like the TV ok. Nice size for price. I am disappointed that the picture seems to darken and then lighten often. I have researched this and it seems this is a dimming problem. Also, the base of this 55" TV seems quite flimsy. I wish there were additional connections.. only two.

TV did not work right from time of receipt and had to be serviced. Although techs were outstanding, brand new TV had to be repaired.

It is not a great TV. However, it is good value for the price. I will need to get something to improve the sound. The sound quality is poor.

I would probably make a different choice, if in the market for a t.v. that's what I get for listening to a Best Buy employee.

Hello I bought this tv model back in December of 2012 so i have owned this tv model for about 9 months now everything on it is awesome especially the picture quality . Its setup in our living room with a Harmon/Kardon 5.1 receiver. It makes it enjoyable to watch movies, sports and gaming. I would recommend this tv to friends without a doubt if i did not have a recent issue with Samsung. I contacted Samsung because of issues with the screen they replaced the screen come to find out the both hdmi ports are loose. I found it strange that both ports would become loose when the tv has not been moved in months and only uses one port because of the receiver. I have three other tvs two of them are 4 year old sonys and a 6 year old Vizio with no issues. "knock on wood" . Samsung refuses to repair under warranty due to suppose user damage to them. I have no kids and my animals can not get to the cables on the back so I will not be buying from Samsung in the future..
