On some shows and movies you can hear the separated sound through these but on most things they really add nothing. They might work better with a better soundbar but I would not buy them again for the 2.1.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Wireless Rear Loud Speakers. I am sorry to hear that you did not experience the full potential of the surround sound system.
Please know that by design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.
However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:
1. Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
2. If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE.
3. Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holing the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode.
4. Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control.

Often times, customers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The Rear Speaker Kit eliminates that hassle. Connect the rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. One wire is required to connect each rear speaker to the wireless module. Then plug in the power cable to the module. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers – this can now be done via Wi-Fi through the wireless module, eliminating any clutter of long wires running the length of your room.

They suggested to exchange them. I did and the new ones still didn't work. Light turns on blue as if connected but there is no sound coming out. I tried movies, sports, TV shows as samsung suggested and still no sound even with the new speakers. The next suggestion was to open a ticket with samsung and this is where I'm at...haven't had a chance as I've been too busy. They were easy to install and wished they worked, any suggestions in regards to what could be doing wrong is much appreciated as I'm passed the 15 days return policy.

Our warranty process is efficient and easy:
1) Once you contact and inform us that you need to process an RMA, we will email you an RMA form.
a) This form will ask for your contact info, reason for repair, and a copy/photo of your receipt/bill of sale (if possible).
b) Please email us back the completed form and proof of purchase.
2) Once we receive your completed RMA form, we will email you your RMA Ticket Number. If you are within the U.S., you will also be emailed a UPS label to send us your Soundbar/Speakers/UBD for assessment.
3) You should receive your repaired or replacement drive within 5-7 business days from the date you shipped us back your model.

I also had a lot of trouble setting them up and getting them to connect with the Samsung soundbar. They also drop off the connection unexpectedly and don't provide surround sound at all. Not a great surround sound experience overall. I would recommend going for something else!
