I can not get surround sound to function on the speakers. What is worse there is no mechanism to test the sound level on the speakers. There is a way to increase the volume on the surround speakers which I turned up all the way. It made no difference. I would not recommend these speakers.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Wireless Rear Loud Speakers. I am sorry to hear that you did not experience the full potential of the surround sound system.
Please know that by design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.
However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:
1. Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
2. If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE.
3. Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holing the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode.
4. Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control.
As for the random disconnection between Soundbar and subwoofer, placement of the devices is often an important factor. Please try to bring the units closer together, and move large items that are in between the line of sight of each other.

They play at a pretty low sound. I got an online price that was amazing. No complaints what so ever. They are stated to be wireless. They really aren't.

The setting was somewhat tricky, but they do the job. I sometimes forget they are there, until a specific scene happens in a movie and you suddenly feels their presence, by enhancing the movie experience. I would purchase them gain. I gave 4 stars due to the tricky set up.

Only drawback is I wish the speaker wires were a bit longer that way they could reach the corners of my large living room.

At first, I bought a LG brand, but took it back after several failed attempts to connect. Haven't had a problem with the Samsung. Also bought the rear satellite speakers.

The soundbar alone sounded great, but once these were added it made a huge difference. Sound quality is amazing for movies and for gaming.

Now there are speaker wires between the receiver and the individual speakers but the connection between the receiver and the sound bar is wireless and super easy to pair. All you have to do is turn it on and it pairs automatically with the Samsung sound bar. We installed these in our master bedroom with the speakers on the nightstands and initially had the receiver on the floor. This seemed to cause some distortion in the sound. I moved the receiver to the top of one of the nightstands and that solved the problem. Apparently something was blocking the signal between the receiver and the sound bar.
