When I had an issue with the optic cable working improperly I went back to the store for help a few months after my purchase. The manager said i would have to contact the manufacturer for warranty service even though they were technically still brand new in the box. It was disappointing that they were not very helpful. However Samsung said to remove the plastic tip from the optics cable then everything worked fine.

They provide what I was looking for so that was not that big of a deal. Just make sure you connect the speaker wires thoroughly because you will think that they do not work.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung SWA-8500S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit. I am very sorry for any confusion about the wireless description.
Most consumers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The SWA-8500S Kit eliminates that hassle. Connect the SWA-8500S rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. One wire is required to connect each rear speaker to the wireless module. Then plug in the power cable to the module. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers – this can now be done by via Wi-Fi through the wireless module, eliminating any clutter of long wires running the length of your room.
