Works with iPhone 14 pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great with my iPhone 14 pro. I wouldn’t use the app to take photos because it’s a really simple point and shoot. No filters or adjustments. The drive itself is really nice made of metal. The only thing I would like changed is the little plastic cover that goes over the uncovered end. If you put it in a keychain expect that little cover to get lost.

Easily transfer pics & videos from your iPhone!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SanDisk iXpand 128GB flash drive plus is a great addition to my iPhone 12 Pro. I create DIY fix videos around the house and edit them completely in my iPhone. Having this flash drive to hand is great for easily storing either those finished videos for archiving, or to take the b-roll footage off of my iPhone and free up space. The drive itself is really easy to use, it has a sturdy aluminum case, with some weight to it, and a convenient swivel action to reveal either an Apple Lightening connector, or a USB-C connector. It does have a small cover for the exposed connector, so make sure you keep track of that, it is not tethered and could potentially go missing. There is also a loop built into the back side of the drive to attach it to a keychain, so that it's with you, always ready for use. Simply plug the lightening connector into your iPhone and you will be promoted that the app required to use this device is NOT installed and you need to download the iXpand Drive App from the App Store. Once installed, the user interface is really simple and clean, easy to use and makes great sense. There are some audio/music files, and some pictures already on the iXpand Drive, which I chose to delete right away, as they are simply taking up space. The drive plugged straight into my iPhone, WITH a silicone case on, great that I didn't have to remove that first. Looking through the app, once you have transferred files from your phone to the drive, you are able to preview your photos and play your videos, so you are in complete control of your files on the drive. You have the option to set up automatic back ups, I chose not to do this, as I have a 256GB iPhone, the main use for this drive for me, is to have a nice, clean version of the videos I create, as a back up. You have the ability to password protect and create secure folders on the drive if you so choose. Flip the drive around 180º to expose the USB-C connector and you're set to plug the drive directly into your computer. It comes preloaded with the required software for both Mac and Windows machines to make the transfer of files seamless. Again, easy to use and intuitive, a nice transfer solution. I haven't had any issues with the drive at all since I started using it. Overall, I am very happy with this easy-to-use, versatile, robust and convenient 128GB SanDisk iXpand Drive.

Really Helpful Tech!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love this little drive!! It’s like a swiss army knife of multiplatform multimedia file sharing. I am responsible for doing a moderate amount of video editing and photo editing for my place of work. They are 100 percent windows based and I use Adobe Premier CC suit for that stuff. I utilize an iMac at home for my multimedia for my personal stuff. Like everything these days my work stuff and my home stuff lines are blurry. I intentionally like to use and stay well versed in the Windows and Apple universe and this drive just made my life a lot easier! I take photos and videos with my iPhone all the time and previous to this little guy I had to either email the pics to my email account at work then download to my PC to use the media on my windows PC at work. iCloud works great with my iPhone for my home media projects but it’s a pain for my work PC. Just recently our IT department blocked iCloud access so emailing pics was my only way! LAME. So this drive… Very well built. It’s a very lightweight aluminum I guess and you can put it on a key chain easily because it has a little loop in it so you can do that. It has a very sturdy “click" when you manipulate the Usb C to the lightning port. It has a cap that covers what ever port you have exposed. The other side tucks away in the shaft of the drive. It’s narrow and very sleek! It comes with an app that really takes this to the next level!! You plug it in and it asks you to down load the app from the app store. Boom it’s done. The app is super user friendly and intuitive. IT's so easy to copy and create a new folder in the app and it can copy music, videos and documents and just plug it into the PC and its all there easily laid out to utilize the media. The app is such a plus as opposed to just “dumb” usb drives. You can also free up space on your iPhone as it will ask if you want to delete off your phone once it is copied on the drive. I would never do that though. If you cross platform this is a must have. I got a 128 but buy the biggest one you can. MY ONLY COMPLAINT…It will not work with the Defender Otterbox case!!! Drive is not long enough/narrow enough to fit into the lightning port (see pic)!!!!! I am working on a work around because the ease of use is so beneficial that I will probably buy a different case for my phone that will work with it.

Super useful and must have for iPhone users
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an iPhone XR with 128gb and pictures take up the majority of my phone's memory storage. The drive is super compact and easy to use with an iPhone Lightning plug on one end, with a USB-C plug on the other. You're getting yourself one drive with 2 connectors that can help to store or transfer data easily from device to device. The plug goes into my iPhone port easily and I do have a Speck case on my phone, and there are no issues with entry. In my case I really loved being able to move the content such as contacts and photo albums to my laptop and then keep them where I'd like for long term usage. Freeing up my iPhone storage is key for me so I don't continue to offload apps or old sentimental videos or photos. The storage drive is simply plug and play when paired up with the SanDisk iXpand Drive app (found in the app store). The app is easy to use and effectively can backup your phone's album along with contacts in your directory. You can then easily decide to keep the items on your phone or also clear them off your phone since they're backed up on the iXpand Flash Drive. When plugged into your iPhone, the phone recognizes it and opens up the app. You can do an automatic backup for convenient storage and never lose those sentimental photos and videos. Also for additional safety you can use a password protect to keep those files secure on the flash drive. Transfer rate is quick and the app can work efficiently to free up storage space on your iPhone so you can take new pics and vids. So far I have really enjoyed this flash drive knowing my years of photos are preserved and I can clear the space on my phone. The ability to backup your phone without relying on cloud data suits some folks needs better than others.

Perfect for Multi Device Needs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is exactly the kind of USB drive that I've been looking to replace all my other ones. This handy little drive connects to both USB-C devices, like my iMac and iPad Pro, and Lightning devices, like my iPhone 12 Pro. For starters, this comes out of the box, ready to go. No formatting required. The casing feels like a solid, metallic material that gives a premium feel of heft and sturdiness. The USB-C connector is tucked inside and you have to rotate the drive to expose it. The Lightning connector is protected by a small, plastic cap. Honestly, I leave the USB-C connecter tucked in because that way, I keep the connector from getting banged up in my bag or at my desk. If you want to use this device on your iOS / iPadOS device, you'll be prompted to download and install the iXpand app from the App Store. I'm not normally a fan of a product that requires I download a proprietary app just to use it, but with iOS15, I can simply hide the app in my App Library and save my Home Screen real estate for other apps I use more frequently. Once you have the iXpand app installed, the drive becomes readable in the Files app in iOS / iPadOS. I've used it to move large files, several gigabytes in size between my iPad Pro and my iMac. My Windows gaming PC also has a USB-C slot and the drive is readable there as well, no formatting required to bounce between Windows, MacOS, or iOS.

Solid Flash Drive for Android and iPhone users.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Apple/Windows/Android flexibility of this flash drive. The Sandisk iXpand Luxe flash drive series features a slim all-metal body with both USB-C 3.1 and Lightning cable compatible ends. This flexibility between devices and operating systems is why it’s my favorite drive to regularly have on me. I can easily swap large photo and video files between my PCs (with USB-C ports), LG V50 phone, and the iPhones my family and friends use. I shoot and edit a lot of 4k video with my cousin who’s on iPhone, so this makes it pretty easy for us to copy and share files together. The transfer speeds are on the faster end for USB 3.0 flash drives, and I like how you can easily back up either your Android or iPhone with the correlating app (Memory Zone for Android, iXpand Drive for iOS). However, there’s a few quirky issues that prevent this flash drive from being perfect. On my Android phone, I can move seemingly any file with either the Sandisk Memory Zone app or the stock File Manager app, but on the iPhone XR, I could see and play music, but not transfer it to the flash drive from my phone. There’s no issue doing this on Android, but while I can’t transfer music from the iPhone, I can use the built-in Secure Vault feature that password protects the flash drive. For some reason, this doesn’t seem available on Android, but that can be fixed with an app update that I hope Sandisk gets out soon. Another issue is that there’s considerable lag in the iXpand app user interface when selecting videos on my phone to transfer. I can see the video files right away, but when trying to select them, it takes forever registering my touch and I’m often left wondering if it even recognized that I selected a file at all. I thought it wasn’t working at first, but you really have to be patient. Thankfully, the actual transfer itself happens pretty quickly. Overall, the Sandisk iXpand Luxe flash drive is a great choice for anyone who works with multiple devices and operating systems. It offers quick real world speeds and I love the password protection Secure Vault brings (need for Android!). Speed Test - 5GB phone to USB - 180 seconds (USB-C 3.0 - LG v50) - 1.3GB phone to USB - 45 seconds (USB-C 3.0 - LG v50) - 47 mb/s write speed - CrystalDiskMark (USB-C 3.0 - PC) - 88 mb/s read speed - CrystalDiskMark (USB-C 3.0 - PC) PROS - USB-C 3.1 and Lightning cable connection - Sturdy metal body - Secure Vault Access app for Apple and Windows built-in (password protection) - Upper end of flash drive speeds CONS - Heavy lag in user interface when selecting video to transfer on iPhone - Don’t see Secure Vault Access app or vault compatibility for Android - iXPAND app won’t let me copy music from iPhone XR to flash drive

handy storage and transfer capabilities
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SanDisk - 128GB iXpand Flash Drive for Lightning & USB-C Devices is certainly versatile for physically transferring and backing up content from any device with a USB-C or Lightning port devices like an iPhone, iPad, and capable android devices. Mobile apps (it appears they required) are available in your favorite App store. Windows software is already on the flash drive if you wish to install it on your Windows PC, I found it unnecessary on my PC as I did not plan on using the encryption capabilities. However if you take exhilarating media with your mobile device, using encryption might make sense if the flash drive becomes lost. The iOS app was a bit sluggish on my iphone 12 Pro, seemed it wanted to index or thumbnail my photos/videos after I had backed up/copied them to the flash device. In any case the iXpand Flash Drive is a super convenient way to download and transfer content between devices. As for the speed of this device, 81.5mbps using the USB-C interface, to copy to a large movie file to an SSD equipped laptop is speedy. What I found pretty impressive was playing back content on the flash drive directly connected via USB-C or the Lightning port. Using VLC Player for Android provided flawless playback, without any dropped frames or stutters in video taken at high bit rate using the FiLMiC Pro app on my iPhone 12 Pro. The drive delivers impressive throughput for both copying and being used as a playback source. Overall, this is a super handy device and a must for anyone who uses their iPhone or other mobile device to create content. Pros: - Interesting physical design, with a Lightning and USB-C interface - Fast throughput, I noted 81mbps when attached to my SSD drive equipped laptop - Provides a non-cloud, no connectivity dependent way to get content off your device Cons: - Although well built, was always paranoid I was going to snap off either tip when the flash drive was connected to a device - Mobile device app experience could be improved. - physically connecting may be a problem with some device case types

Auto backup with some hiccups
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the SanDisk iXpand flash drive with iOS to transfer backup photos and transfer them to my PC. The process was overall fairly smooth, but I ran into a couple issues with the iXpand app failing to recognize the drive after switching apps and relaunching it. I also ran into an issue with the app crashing repeatedly on launch after an extended import session. After rebooting my phone, the app launched successfully and I was able to resume the backup of my photos. The process itself was very easy to get started. When I inserted the drive into my phone, I was prompted to download the related app from the App Store. After launching the iXpand app, I was asked if I wanted to automatically backup my photos when connecting the drive. I selected yes, and after giving permission to access my photos, the backup process started. The process finished and imported about half my photos with a pop up that some of them could not be imported and to try again later. I have iCloud Photos set to optimize storage, so I presume the photos that couldn’t be imported weren’t fully downloaded to my device. One small drawback was that the app had to remain open the entire time it was importing photos. Given I had ~80GB of photos to import, this required a considerable amount of my time without being able to use my phone. If it weren’t for the few instances of app responsiveness, I’d rate this a 5 star product. Even as is, I would still recommend this, and may consider buying a larger model than the 128Gb in the future to really utilize the backup function more fully.

Easy to use iPhone flash drive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sandisk iXpand flash drive luxe has a sturdy metallic feel to it. It has a rotating cover where you can switch ends when you want to connect it to your IPhone or your USB-C computer connection. The lightning connection side of the flash drive has a plastic cover on it. The USB-C connection side is under the rotating cover. In order to begin using the flash drive on your iPhone, you have to download the sandisk app. It’s very easy to install and use. Once installed, plug in your flash drive to your phone and it automatically begins backing up your pictures and videos. I found this feature very helpful because I didn’t have to do anything. Once all of your media has been backed up onto the flash drive, just pull the flash drive out and you’re done. Now you can plug it into your computer with a USB-C connection and begin uploading your pics. Within a few minutes you’re done and you can delete the pictures and videos from your phone to have more room for more pictures. This is quite the easy process and so convenient if you’re running out of room on your iPhone and cloud. I highly recommend purchasing this flash drive. This is actually my second sandisk drive. It is a great product.

Excellent concept and product, one thing to know
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me say this is a very cool concept and well designed. It uses a metal case, not plastic. It contains a lighting plug for your phone and a usb c plug for your computer. The one thing that lost a star is the inability to use this with an otter box defender, which I think is a very common case. A simple extension would have been helpful. I’m sure there are other cases it will. It work with but does work with the otter box commuter case. Once you plug into your phone, you’ll be told you need the app. It’ll take you to the App Store to get the free app. Download and everything else is simple and easy to figure out. Automatic backups will make it easier to do future backups, the first one can take awhile depending upon the size of the pictures and files you have. Worth it if not using an otter box defender. If using an otter box defender, will need some kind of extension adapter.

Transfer files between devices and Cast videos/pho
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.128GB iXpand flash drive is compact and well built with metal casing - saves your drive from accidental falls. USB C and lightening connectors that serves dual purpose - connect and transfer files between iPhone/iPad and PC. Plug and play detect on PC and prompted me to download iXpand app when connected to apple devices. Pros • 128 GB - that's plenty of storage. • 90 Mbps transfer rate - good for small files. • Transferring photos and videos between devices is a breeze. • Cast pics/videos directly from iPad/iPhone to TV's with Chromecast/Fire Stick. • File password protection option on the iXpand Drive. • Autoback up option Cons • Having trouble connecting to iPad Pro which has USB C connector - researching if it supports USB C on apple tablets or not. • Transferring long videos takes a bit. • Doesn't seem to copy pdf/documents on iPad, but didn't have trouble copying files from android phone- still exploring if its firmware or the device itself doesn’t have support for those file types on apple devices Overall, its ok device to transfer small photos and videos between devices or backup/free up storage space, but not having support for iPad Pro with USB C connector is a big downfall for a dual connector flash drive with a big price tag!

2-in-1 durable drive for mobile devices
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive Luxe is a 2-in-1 flash drive that is made for iPhone, iPad, and USB Type-C devices. It easily lets you to transfer files, pictures, videos, and makes backup of your iPhone quite easy. Unlike other brands which I had before this one work as expected and the app is very intuitive. Flash drive houses in a premium metal casing that swivels to change from lighting connector to USB-C. Its very thin and the small form factor makes it extremely easy to carry around. It does have a keyhole for attaching to the bag or to your car keys. Setup is extremely easy. Once you unpack just insert the lighting connector side to the iPhone and it automatically lets you to select the app from Appstore to download. If not do download the iXpand Drive app from either Appstore or google store. Once the app is downloaded it quickly asks you to backup all your pictures, videos, music and files and the transfer rate is fast. It took around 20 minutes to back up more than 2000 pictures and videos from iPhone 12 pro max. Once backup is done, it gives you an option to delete all the pictures from phone to create more storage space or you can select not to delete. If you do not want to store your pictures on iCloud or connect your phone to your laptop/mac then this is a great alternative. This also lets you to view your pictures/videos on mac or computer using the USB C. Password protection of files is also an option that makes the files more secure. Overall, really like the design, small formfactor and the convenience of having lighting adapter and USB- C to transfer pictures from iOS to android to windows with minimal setup. You should purchase this flash drive if you need more storage for your phone or for quick backup and is relatively inexpensive to free some space on your mobile devices or to transfer across multiple devices.

Cool little SanDisk photo stick
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Getting photos off an iPhone and onto a desktop computer used to be fairly simple before everything was connected with wifi and Bluetooth. Connect a cord between the phone and device, then select and drop. Sometimes it was mildly inconvenient because you could only drop one at a time, but the process was simple. Now the process has become wildly complicated. You can move pics to the cloud, if you want someone else to be manager of your photos, and you want to pay monthly for storage. For the privacy and/or budget minded, you can move them to an external hard drive via and app, but it’s one more app to download on your phone, and you have to have the right login, because if you don’t, your access is sunk. Not to mention, the up front cost of an external hard drive with ample storage usually isn’t cheap. As someone who had maxed out my photo capacity right before my kiddo’s graduation, and who didn’t want to upload photos to a cloud I’d have to pay for monthly, I spent an entire afternoon when I needed to be doing other stuff, and tried all of the above things. I tried connecting my iPhone 12 to my husband’s Mac - crap! Wrong Apple ID. I tried connecting it to an old laptop. It kinda worked, but the laptop was so old it was wicked slow. I tried downloading the app and connecting it wirelessly to our external hard drive. My husband couldn’t remember the password he set up. Skunked again. So I researched buying my own external hard drive so I’d have my own place to keep my own data. I especially looked for something I could connect directly to my iPhone with a cord instead of an app. Most external solutions were pricey, and I only found one hard drive that said it could be plugged directly into an iPhone, independent of a computer. It was on the low end of pricey, but it only had about a dozen reviews and they felt sketchy. Not a gamble I was willing to take. WHY was this so CoMpLiCaTeD?? Then I came across this little SanDisk photo stick. Other than still having to download an app to use it, the price was reasonable, it took two seconds to plug it into my iPhone, the controls were pretty straightforward, and my life was back to quick and simple. Game changer. No more feeling overwhelming tech angst. Totally worth the money. And so portable that I can quickly move photos while riding somewhere in the car or sitting down to watch TV. And this thing has a TON of storage on it. Which is good because I have close to 1500 photos after 2 years of phone use. A lot to move. But I do it in small bites of 100-150 photos, which probably takes me about 5-10 min each session. The only small drawbacks: I wish it let you choose your photos oldest to newest, instead of the other way around. That means I have to scroll all the way to the end of 1000+ photos each time, and then start selecting. If there’s a setting to change that, I haven’t found it. But let’s face it: we’re most likely to show folks our photos from the last couple of weeks, not 2 years ago. It’s the old ones we’re most likely to want to store. It’s small, so it’s easy to set down somewhere and misplace. I’ve done it several times. I was also concerned I’d leave it in a pocket and launder it. I’ve done that to a tiny cell phone before. Ouch! So, I solved both of these challenges by putting this on a lanyard. The other connector on the adapter isn’t a standard USB, so I couldn’t connect it directly to the photo printing hardware at the store when I wanted to print photos. I also can’t plug it directly into a computer’s USB to move photos off the stick. I think a standard USB would be a much better option. Now I’ll have to see if an adapter is available. That stinks. The warranty is short for the kind of item that usually works for years. I’ve never had a memory stick go bad on me. Why is the warranty only a year or two? Is this built for failure and/or obsolescence? Probably. Will I have to find another avenue to store my photos in a few years? Sigh. Probably. But I just bought myself some time. And it was comparatively cheap and worth the money to get things done now, when I needed it asap. Maybe by then a trusted brand will decide to make a hard drive with an option to run it directly from your phone. A girl can hope.
