I’ve always chosen Sandisk memory cards for my devices because they are always reliable and have never failed on me. This 256gb micro sd card is an excellent option for anyone looking for a memory card to store and play their Nintendo switch games. If you have physical games, they won’t take up a whole lot of space on the SD card, if you have a mostly digital library I would say you can probably fit at least 50 games on it give or take. More if you have mostly physical copies of games. It has 238gb of usable storage after installation. The memory card itself has good read and write speeds but the Nintendo switch won’t take much advantage of it and still load the games at the same speeds as the internal storage. This sd card has a cool pink color and comes with a code redeemable on Fortnite. You’ll have to go to the Fortnite website to redeem it with your epic account but it unlocks a custom wrap for your guns and vehicles in game. A nice little added bonus for fans and players of Fortnite. I would recommend this card, SanDisk makes great, reliable and long lasting memory cards. From experience, I think this card will definitely last for at least 5 years. Or longer.

When you need storage for your Switch and you love Fortnite, this SD card is for you. My girlfriends son is a huge Fortnite player and chance to get extra in game content and he has to have it! The angular flow wrap that was included with the sd card was his latest prize to show his friends! Even though you can use other sd cards, getting one that is designed specifically for the switch, you know it will have the performance you need. Even if you get the highest capacity Switch with 64gb of storage, it can fill up quickly. With a 256gb card it gives you the extra capacity to store and take with you all your switch games. SanDisk has always been a name you know you can count on even when it’s just storage for games. But, even if you don’t need to use this for a switch it has the features that would be good for other devices such as cameras or phones. If you need an sd card for your Switch, phone, camera or just because you have someone who loves Fortnite, this is the sd card to get for the in game content.

Summary: An overall good Micro SD card for your Nintendo Switch (or any other device) that has good speeds. Pros: - Good overall speeds - Fortnight branded (comes with an item) - Easy to use Cons: - Included item is kind of minor Unboxing: The item comes in a typical micro SD package with San Disk / Fortnite branding. The item is in the usual hard to open plastic that you will likely need scissors to get into. Be careful as there is an item code inside the packaging as well you do not want to destroy. Use: Plugging it right into my Nintendo switch for the first time, it appears to be empty and worked right away. I transferred games to it at good speed. Running Fortnite on this card seems to load in comparable time to loading it on internal memory. No complaints here! Benchmarks: I plugged it into my PC to test it using CrystalDiskMark. The card is rated at read speed of 100 MB/s and write speed of 90 MB/s. Using the default benchmark settings, I was able to get a bit less at around 97 MB/s read and 88 MB/s write (pictured). This performance is still good, just not quite as advertised. Included items: There is a code to redeem the “angular flow” skin for Fortnite. It is a “cool” looking (blue waves) skin that is subtle. I would have preferred a free character skin but hard to complain since it is free with the item.

It’s so great to have all of this extra storage on our Nintendo Switch with this micro sd card. It’s been super reliable and easy to move data around. It took just a few minutes for it to transfer all of our gaming memory from multiple games onto the sd card without any hiccups. When I added the card to our Switch, it was ready to go without having to be formatted. Assuming that it must be because the card is already made for Nintendo Switch. It also seamlessly worked on our sons Nintendo Switch Lite. I thought it would be simpler and we would be able to get the Fortnite extras while in game with the card once inserted, but in order for you to redeem the fun extra wrap for Fortnite, you have to have an account with Fortnite. You have to redeem from their website and not directly from inside the game. So if you play Fortnite without an account, you won’t be able to download it. Even though it specifies Fortnite and Nintendo Switch you can still use the card with other compatible systems. We are really happy with this little card with big storage. It’s fully dedicated to our Switch and now we can go wild and purchase many more games. Win, Win.

upgrade my 128gb micro SD with Sandisk 256GB I believe this the highest you can have as a storage for your Nintendo switch. the packaging was cute it had a whole fortnite character on the packaging, even the actual microSD had the pink bear character printed to it. it also came with Angular Flow Wrap skin for in game use, transferring multiple games to this microSD was also a lot faster. i’ve tried most of my games using my PC then inserted this SD to transfer the game back. the process was much faster than copying all my Nintendo switch games from my previous one, having 256GB memory for games is a great addition. my previous microSD was also Sandisk I trust the brand a lot so it was no brainer upgrading for a bigger memory. I haven’t notice any game improvements from having faster read speed on using microSD but transferring and copying nintendo switch games using pc was much better than before. I didn’t notice any slow down loading up my games either haven’t had a single issue when it comes to storing games in SD card, everything works perfect, something i expect coming from Sandisk. highly recommend this plus you get free fornite in game skin.

My 8 year old was pretty skeptical when I pulled out a pink SD card for his switch. He was pretty happy though when he realized it included a free wrap. To get the wrap it was the typical Fortnite code that does have you jump through some hoops going to the game website to redeem the code but it was pretty simple to do and showed up to use right away when he turned the game on. Attached in my photos for this review is a picture of the wrap on one of his weapons. The SD card itself worked just like its supposed to. We plugged it into the switch without needing to format it. We immediately started downloading his games onto the card with little to no effort and with no errors. I have also enclosed a picture of the card inserted into his switch which comes in handy telling his device apart from his sisters by noticing the pink SD Card sticking out. I also have attached a screenshot of the large capacity remaining even after downloading a few games to the switch. If your child plays Fortnite and you need to increase their Switch memory, this card is a no brainer to get the added bonus for the game.

I have the Nintendo switch that comes with the basic 32GB and I have started to download more games recently so I love this extra 256GB memory for my device! Installing it is so simple, I just turned off my device and lifted the stand found in the back of the Nintendo where you can find a small pocket to install it. Once it’s in, you can go to the settings and then data management where it tells me that I now have a microSD card with 238gb of free space. I am also able to move data between the Local Storage and the 256GB so I have more space in the main memory for the OS and Apps. This purchase also comes with a virtual Fortnite angular wrap. It is the official licensed Fortnite SanDisk microSDXC card for Nintendo to store Fortnite and any other games. The high read and write speeds up to 100MB/s and 90MB/s accordingly will guarantee the high response of performance of the game.I have played Fortnite in my old PlayStation, So I downloaded it immediately in the Nintendo Switch which was free and the fun is back! The angular wrap is a rare weapon used in the game. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Instant storage upgrade for the Nintendo Switch series. Easy to install, less than a minute, add extra time if moving from an old card to move the data across. Hardest part is opening the packaging and redeeming the skin code provided. Right away noticeable difference in speeds for data and load times for games stored on the switch; read/write. Extra steps added from just the install to move data across from old to new card. Powered down the Switch, inserted SD Card, power-on, update notification for Switch to be able to use the card and done, power back down to remove card for data transfer. Overall time to move games and data to the new card after powering back down and moving game data from the old 32GB card to the new card; approx. 5-minutes. Speeds of the data transfer will vary based on the system used; USB-C/3.0/etc… Easily noticeable if it decides to go missing is a PLUS. Really like how SanDisk is making these things brighter with how easily dropped they are at times and even lost. Will not have to upgrade for a little with this amount of space. Happy gaming.

Goes Great With my Nintendo Switch Lite, Happy Downloading/Updating

The SanDisk 256GB microSD card for Nintendo Switch is a decent card with a cool bonus for Fortnite. This particular SD card is a micro SDXC 1 card meaning, it’s not the fastest out there on the market, but it’s also not the slowest. I would say this card is better than average in terms of read/write speeds. The total storage of this card is 256GB, but the actual usable size is different. Due to system files, you actually end up getting about 238GB of usable storage (give or take). That is still plenty of storage to hold quit a few games. If the average game is about 15GB, then that’s about 15 downloadable games this SD card can hold. If you’re someone who prefers to buy the physical copy of a game, then it will hold way more because it will only require save date and not the full size of the game. If this is your first time installing expanded storage on your Switch, then the process is pretty straight forward – you just have to insert the SD card and start using it. On the other hand, if you’re using this as an upgraded size from a previous SD card, then it will require a little extra work on your part. It’s still not terribly difficult and Nintendo offers great instructions on their website. The first thing I wanted to test out was the read/write speeds. I noticed that this card maxed out about 85mbps/sec, when writing files to it. That’s more than good enough for a good gaming experience on the Nintendo Switch. After I copied my old data to the new card, I put it back in my Switch and played a few games on it. The results are exactly what I imagined; the games ran just as good if not better than they did before. Also, the bonus code for Fortnite is a much-welcomed bonus, you get a cool looking wrap. Overall, I am happy with the SanDisk micro SDXC Card. This card offers fast read/write speeds and has plenty of storage for my personal needs. The included bonus code for Fortnite is a great added bonus. I would definitely recommend this SD card to anyone looking to upgrade their storage on their Nintendo Switch.

The SanDisk 256gb micro SD card is fast, has a large capacity, is Nintendo-licensed, is fortnite themed, and includes downloadable content for fortnite. This card is fast. It has read speeds of 100mb per second and write speeds of 90mb per second. This is more than enough to use as expandable storage for the Nintendo Switch. This card could also be used for other things such as with the Steam Deck, or with cameras like the GoPro or other cameras that use microSD cards. The capacity is also more than sufficient. If AAA switch games are roughly 20-40 gigs, you could easily fit 10 games on here which is a great improvement over the 32 gigabytes of onboard storage a Nintendo Switch has. Another good thing about this card is that it’s Nintendo-licensed, which means it was tested and definitely will not have compatibility issues with the Nintendo Switch. Switch Lite, or OLED models. Another cool feature of this card is that it is fortnite-themed! It is pink and features the cuddle team leader. The card also includes a free skin for your vehicle and weapons which is really neat. Overall, this is a great SD card option for the Nintendo Switch with a great bonus.

The SanDisk 256GB microSDXC card is a nifty little storage card that can be used in the Nintendo Switch for storage or in any device that accepts microSDXC cards. It is hot pink in color and has an emblem on it from a Fortnite character. I didn't think too much about the outside, but it does add a bit of personality, and the pink color means it is hard to lose. The card worked like a charm; insert it into the device, let the device format it, and then use it to store files. This card has speeds up to 100 MB/s read and 90 MB/s write. It is an officially licensed Nintendo product. The card is water proof, temperature proof, shock proof, and x-ray proof. SanDisk makes fine storage cards, so it is no surprise to see what all damage the card is protected from. The kicker is that the package includes a code for a Fortnite Angular Flow weapons wrap. Just go into the game and apply the code to get the item. If you need some additional storage for your Switch or other device, and if you or someone you know are even vaguely interested in Fortnite, this is a product that provides excellent value and works perfectly.

This is a great little micro-SD card. 256GB offers enough storage to install quite a few games. I haven't noticed any dip in performance between games on the internal storage and games on the SD card. Installing the card and moving my games to it was a relatively fast and easy process. The Fortnite weapon skin that came with my card was a nice little bonus. All in all, I have absolutely no complaints about this card aside from wishing that it came in blue or yellow (to match my switch setup) instead of this "pinkish / fuscia" color. That's hardly a big deal though as no one will ever see it stashed inside of my switch. Word of warning on the packaging. Make sure to cut along the dotted line at the top of the cardboard. I tore into it with a pair of scissors about midway down, and I ended up cutting my Fortnite redemption code in half (whoops!). Fortunately, it was still legible. I strongly recommend this card for anyone wanting to install more digital games on their Nintendo Switch or Switch lite.

## How to transfer to a new microSD card If you already have a microSD card in your Nintendo Switch and you want to transfer your content to this large microSD card, I found that the process was surprisingly easy. You’ll need a computer and a way to plug your microSD card into your computer (like a USB memory card reader if your computer doesn’t already have a built-in card reader). 1. Power off your Nintendo Switch (hold down the power button for 3 seconds, select "Power Options", then "Turn Off".). 2. Remove the “old” microSD card from your Switch (it’s behind the kickstand on the back of your Switch). 3. Insert the “old” microSD card into the card reader and connect to your computer. 4. The “old” microSD card should have a folder titled “Nintendo” that contains all your games and screenshots. Copy this folder to your computer (I just placed it on the desktop). 5. When it is done copying (mine took about 25 minutes), safely eject the “old” microSD card from your computer (if you’re on Windows, there should be an icon with a green icon in the taskbar by the system clock that allows you eject removable media). 6. Connect this “new” microSD card to your computer. 7. Copy the “Nintendo” folder you just saved to your computer to the “new” microSD card. 8. When it is done copying, safely eject the “new” microSD card from your computer. 9. While the Switch is still off, insert the “new” microSD card, turn on the Switch, and verify that your downloaded games and your screenshots are still there. 10. If everything is OK, you can optionally delete the “Nintendo” folder from your computer and your “old” microSD card (unless you want to keep them as a backup, which isn’t a bad idea). 11. Don’t forget to look for the small paper insert included with this microSD card to redeem your wrap in Fortnite! If the copy fails for any reason, don’t worry as you can simply redownload your games from the Nintendo eShop to the new microSD card. Your game saves are actually stored on the Nintendo Switch’s built-in system memory even if the game itself is saved on the microSD card. The main things you risk losing with the microSD card are the screenshot photos and videos you have saved. ## Performance I had a smaller Samsung microSD card in my Switch previously and this SanDIsk card seems to load games just as fast as my old card. I haven’t noticed any issues with the new card and now I have double the storage! This comes in handy as game files seem to keep getting bigger and bigger (I believe Fortnite is over 15GB now on the Switch). The included code for a Fortnite wrap is a nice bonus!

Let me start by saying that my wife and I are the biggest Fortnite nerds out there. That said, even we wouldn't normally pay this price for a microSDXC card. The 256 GB is great, and it will work in any device that supports it (not just a Nintendo Switch), but it is quite expensive. You do get a wrap cosmetic item to use in Fortnite, but I feel like a Fortnite themed item like this, at this price point, should include an actual skin, as other microSDXC cards can be bought for less than 1/2 this price, then you could use the other $40 to buy 3 or 4 skins in Fortnite. All of that said, it is a VERY fast microSD card. IT works great in my switch, but I think it is going to live in my Microsoft Surface as a great way to expand my storage space on my computer with blazing speeds. This would also be a great addition to a cell phone, assuming it has a microSDXC slot. The bottom line here is that this is a quality microSDXC card, it's pink (which I love, but no one will ever see it), it comes with a wrap for your vehicles and weapons in Fortnite, but it's about twice as much as I want to spend on a microSDXC card.

If you have a Nintendo Switch then you know that some of the games can be absolutely huge (I am looking at you Diablo 3) and eventually, faster than you might think, you are going to run out of space and need to add a memory card. You want to be selective and buy a memory card that is going to not only have the space that you want but also have the necessary speed so that it works well without slowing down any of your games. A Nintendo branded card means that Nintendo has not just licensed their name and/or game likeness to put on your card but it also means that Nintendo has signed off on your card being fast enough to play games efficiently and without any sort of slowdown. That's where the Sandisk Fortnite Edition comes in. And even better if you're a Fortnite player because this card comes with an in game weapon skin that is considered to be very rare (it comes in the form of a redeemable code that is included with the card, so be careful to not throw out any documentation or items that come in the box). This is a nice addition to the package as a whole. I also like the fact that this card is bright pink. You may be wondering why? Well because it makes this tiny, tiny card, much easier to spot if you drop it! I installed this card to replace a previous Sandisk 32Gb card and it gives me so much more space. Everything seems very fast loading as well, even faster than my old card. All in all this card is a winner, it's fast, it's got tons of space, it's endorsed by Nintendo, comes with a cool Fortnite weapon skin and is bright pink, making it easy to spot when you inevitably drop it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
