it is a great zip i have had many curzer zips this one is the fastest and works great. the only bad thing about the zip is the little Hole to put it on the lanyard, only problem is that it is not big enough to put a keychain on. I had to go and get a case to hole the thing.

    Okay flash drive

All flash drives are great until they break on you. Its okay but at the price they are selling it here on best buy its not even worth it. Newegg sells the 16gb version of this drive for less than BB is selling the 8GB.

    Do Not Buy!

I bought this product when it was on sale about two months ago thinking it would hold everything for my school work and a lot more. It did, and I was very pleased with it. I always took really good care of it, but I didn't use it for about a span of 2 weeks. When I put it back in my computer's USB port, it wouldn't work. I tried putting it in another computer, my tv, my xbox, and my playstation, and nothing worked. It would become incredibly hot as well. Do not buy this because it will break on you.

I really needed a new memory stick and thought this was a great buy but sometimes I feel its going to fall apart when I remove it from the computer.

    Not That Simple

I bought this because my computer is slow at home and i need to bring home a 5GB file that i downloaded at work. you can't copy files larger than 4GB without re-formatting the drive. this would be nice information to know or if error message popped when you try to use their secure access program. the secure access program was a waste of time for me. if you don't need to encrypt your files don't bother installing it.

    Must download drivers to use

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Any time I want to use this flash drive on a new computer, I have to download the driver onto that computer. I haven't seen a flash drive that wasn't automatically recognized in a while. Windows 7 can't even read it without downloading the drivers. Also, finding the driver on Sandisk's website is not all that easy. The driver is labeled with 98 as if it were a windows 98 driver.

    Poor Performance

Finally got my desktop to recognize (XP). Laptop wouldn't (Vista). Put back to desktop to just kill the built-in software and am currently fighting for that. Really - let's just leave flash drives as space and not put in all the 'extras' that make them not work so well.....

Does not show as removable drive

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Be warned, this drive does not show up in Windows XP or Windows 7 as a removable drive, instead it shows up as a local disk. If you plan on using a utility that only recognizes removable drives, AVOID this product. Google, the drive not showing as removable and you'll find forum threads on SanDisk's site explaining that they made a firmware chip change to be compliant for Windows 8 but then reverted those changes. Right now there's no way to tell which version of the firmware/chip you'll get. Think it explains the great pricing by BestBuy but the bad pitfall for consumers.

Purchased 2 and within 4 months both were dead. the first one died after I removed it from one laptop and tried to copy files to the second,, dead nothing nada! and the problem with the second one was a poor design, accidently hit it while plugged in and it BENT, didn't take much either couldn't fully slide it back into the case and 2 days later it died! Much to fragile for constant use, I won't be getting the slide type anymore my old stick type with the cap works perfect.

    Very Poor Flash Drive

    Posted .

I purchased this drive to replace two smaller SanDisk flash drives that I have had good experience with. I purchased this drive since it was on sale. The drive was not promptly recognized by my computer and when it did finally connect operated very slowly. The second time I attempted to use it the drive malfunctioned. I returned it for a replacement which Best Buy gladly handled. The second drive did not work at all. I tried each on different computers with the same results. I returned the second one for a Geek Squad 8GB drive which works flawlessly! Do not waste your time with this drive.

I was in love, at first

I liked this drive so much, at first. It doesn't hold 8gbs. It didn't get close to the end of the warranty before ALL my data was gone. Everything I saved, pictures music, files, were GONE. Good thing I don't trust anything. All the files were backed up to a slave drive. Otherwise I'd be very upset. Remember, back up your backup if you can.

    This product is trash.

I honestly cannot believe I ordered this. whatever those reviews say about how good they are is wrong. It took two minutes to transfer 27.9 mb of documents. This is very bad, I really do not recommend it. If you are looking for a real flashdrive, get the kingston. Very efficent, got it aside of this one because this one is awful.

    Another drive with deceptive storage

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

8gb drive has less than 7.5gb. This seems to be the standard for USB drives (to advertise more storage space than it actually has), but is my peeve. Low rating due to manufacturers refusing to honestly advertise drive space. Item was returned (I needed at least 7.75 gb).

    Broke after 1 month

Do NOT buy this!! I bought two on-sale and was really excited about using them. Within the span of a month, both broke. The computer won't read them. Anything else I try and get them to read them will not work. They were taken care of perfectly so it was not a owner based problem.

    never got to use it

We bought it, we put it in our computer, and it immediately locked itself up and said it was write-protected. Sandisk support says it can detect an error itself and will shut itself down and can't be fixed.
