This is a must in the era of digital overload. Great way to save your photos for a permanent safekeeping.

Worked great. I needed a lot of space to put 20 years worth of lake pics into slideshows for our lake house. Easy to use.

I had to backup my internal hard drive twice since the first time the SanDisk thought it was full. When I called SanDisk, they said there must have been some corruption so I had to reformat and redo the backup. Never had that experience with other external drives.

after 1 year of use. it stop working. I am a photographer. I used this as an additional storage to not use my computer space for photos. this is use only for raw files and final jpg. it came out of my office only 4 times in 1 year. so not that extreme use. never get wet, or use with dust, or even use the carabiner loop. it just disconnect from the computer and it never connect back again. so if you plan to use this as an additional storage. keep in mind that you need to replace it with 1 year of use.

SanDisc - Extreme Portable 2TB external USB-C has stop working. I bought it 2.15.2023 and SanDisc stopped working on 4.5.2023. SanDisk can't be recognized on any computer. I even took it to Geek Squad to see if it works on any other computer. Unfortunately I lost all my son's sports videos and pictures that can't be recovered. Recovery of the files is not covered by SanDisc - Western Digital. They will replace your external SanDisk but first you have to ship them your old broken SanDisk. Data recovery services can cost from $500 to $3000 and up....

All of the Sandisk Extreme SSDs are defective, it is a known issue recently in the news, and it is a known issue by the manufacturer (Sandisk/Western Digital). These drives fail abruptly due to a defect, not because of anything you do to the drive. If you own one, return it and/or ensure your data is backed up as these are subject to sudden total failure with zero chance of recovery.

Very slow while copying photos to the USB from the PCs

This was not good for my use. I am a musician. I put a sound library on it. The drive constanty loses connection. I have to eject it and reconnect to access the music library. I would like to bring it back...over $200 spent. I have ran all the test. It is the drive vs. My new mac mini or cords.

DO NOT BUY, 2 out of 4 have failed within less than a year will not mount and WD / Sandisk will do nothing for you and there’s currently a petition for a class action lawsuit because of these drives.

This drive is very handy for all-around storage needs. The storage capacity and speed are plenty sufficient for use as a working drive for video, photography, and graphic design. Another great feature is the included SanDisc security app, that enables password protection for the drive. Once you set up the password, you can unlock the drive on both Mac & PC. Note: it comes formatted as ExFat which works on both Mac & PC. The 4tb option is also a great choice for larger file sizes. While the form factor is small, it has a nice housing to help protect it. As an SSD, it has no mechanical parts as compared to HDD's - so it comes with quite a bit more piece of mind with regard if it takes a tumble.

I have a MacBook Pro M3 Pro version and a Sony ZV-E1, lets just say my internal stoage is on lofe support at this point between filmed videos that havent turned into content to tons if project files. This SSD is not only huge in the amount of storage it gives me but tiny enough to fit in that little jeans coin pocket. I seriously love this thing the fact that it loads up instantly upon plugging it in in comparison to some other slower SSD’s ive tried having instanr access to my files or the ability to instantly transfer over files to it is a huge deal for me the transerfer speeds are great gotta love this little gadget
