Customers recognize the Extreme Portable 2TB External USB-C NVMe SSD as highly portable and appreciate its excellent overall performance and compact size. The generous storage capacity is also frequently praised. While some users noted that the drive can get warm during extended use and that the included cable is short, these concerns are less prevalent than positive feedback.

One of the best products I have used so far. I have been using hard disks for quite a long time, but this one is handy, slim, lightweight, and easy to carry.

I bought this SanDisk 2TB USB-C nVME drive so I can edit video directly from it on a 2020 M1 Macbook Air with 16GB RAM. I haven't edited anything from it yet, but I did run the Blackmagic Disk Speed test on it. As you can see from the screenshot, the drive achieved 617.2MB/sec writes and 763.9MB/sec reads. Since I will not be editing anything larger than 4K, according to these tests, it is fast enough for all my editing needs.
I also hooked the drive to my 9th gen i7 Windows laptop with 32GB RAM and ran the PC version of the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test. Surprisingly, the Windows laptop achieved faster read speeds with the drive (923MB/s) than the M1 Macbook Air. The write speeds are a bit slower (537.9MB/sec) but not by much.
Obviously, benchmarks do not always reflect real world use of any product, but based on these benchmarks, this drive is great for 4K video editing. On top of that, the compact and rugged design of the drive makes it perfect for a laptop bag and editing on the go.
The retail package comes with the drive itself, an (about) 6" USB-C to USB-C cable, and a USB-C to USB3 Type A adapter.
At this time, I highly recommend this product.

Once you go SSD you’ll never go back! These drives work great, super fast and half the size of a regular 2tb drive. Highly recommend giving them a try! Beware after you buy these you’ll never buy a regular drive again

Easy to setup and read/write speed is fast! I personally am using this as backup storage for my game data off my PS4. The connection required to use with it is a short cable, perhaps there is a longer one available, but that is the only downside. Not worth deducting a star just for that though! I would recommend this, especially if you can get it on sale like I did!

I was looking forward to this drive for extra storage for my M1 MacMini, and I wanted a drive that would outperform a SATA 3 connection. My main resource hog applications and Opus by EastWest and Cubase for orchestral scoring. While applications loaded just fine, there was a definite choke point when it came to streaming large samples off of disk and I was getting clicks and pops even with my audio settings at 44.1/16.
Under Blackmagic, with the data transfers which were well under advertised 1000 MBps. As my screenshots show, the included USB-C cable was only mid 800s for read and 700 for write. Using the USB-C to A adapter yielded only 377 read and 350 write.
Adding insult to injury was I paid $450 for this drive 13 days ago and today it's on sale for $299.
For the pluses, it is packaged well and portable. It feels like solid quality. It was plug and play as can be.
