95mb/s speed is good enough and 280mb/s is not really necessary for photo use maybe video but 95mb/s is good enough for 4k video quality.

not nearly as fast as advertised on Mac

i got it for it's high rated speed. it says 280MB/s but if you use it on a MacBookPro w/ Sierra (2015 era mac), use Blackmagic Disk Speed test, and i see between 30MB/s and 40MB/s (read and write). however, I also recently got the Extreme 128GB for like $70 and it has the C10 icon on it, which this one doesnt. That one says 90MB/s, and i get like 60MB/s write and 88MB/s read. like more than twice as fast as the Extreme Pro version, double storage, and much less $. go figure. so if you are using it for aux storage on a mac, be aware of the discrepenacy between "what can we advertise it at" and what actually happens. this is mainly an issue if you try to boot from this drive where if you have too slow of a boot file system the machine is too slow / unusable. nonetheless, this has proven to be a handy addition to the mac for super lightweight backups versus lugging around a giant orange SSD drive all the time.
