Customers have good things to say about the Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Reader. They rave about its fast data transfer speed, compact design, compatibility with CFexpress cards, and overall reliability. However, some customers find the price to be a bit high and the cable to be on the shorter side.

My Macbook software decided to delete all photos on my CF card without importing and this Sandisk card reader along with great free software managed to retrieve them. 10/10

Bought this one because it was available. Not too big. I like the click in/click out insertion, but the reader is a little too light to insert without stabilizing the reader with my hand. This would not be a problem, but I use it with a tower pc that has the fast usb port on the rear panel and the cable that comes with this unit is very short. (Turns out that to get the faster read/write speed the usb cable has to be no more than about 1.5 feet long). Because my pc is in my desk pedestal, it makes for a difficult reach. Also, my pc does not reliably find the reader quickly/initiate auto file downloads. I do not know if this is due to the pc, the reader, or the card. But, the drive does show up on my folder tree and I can manually transer files. So, it is not a big issue.

Lightning fast for use with CFXpress memory cards & so easy it’s almost intuitive. Glad Best Buy always seems to have the latest tech necessities for DSLR cameras when I don’t have time to wait for items to be shipped.

I purchased this thinking it also would read XQD cards, my other reader reads CF Express and XQD. I don't know why companies do this. I would rather buy two off-brand on Amazon for the price of this. Not worth it.
We are sorry for the confusion regarding compatibility. This product is specifically designed for CFexpress cards and does not support XQD cards. For assistance in finding the right reader, please contact our customer support team at: https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/askweb . Thank you for your feedback.

I had to purchase this when I bought a Nikon Z9. It works well with my iMac 27" computer. I needed to buy an adapter to connect it. Transfer rate is lightening fast. Tip: look for good deals on other sites, then ask Best Buy to price match.
