Simple Design Flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this card reader for less than 24 hours, got it home, plugged my cfexpress card in, it seemed to hold the card and transfer data no problem, after ejecting the card, the locking mechanism didn't want to hold the card anymore, I would now have to hold the card with my hand or place tape over it to keep the pins on the card connected to the pins in the reader, otherwise the card will not be read. I think its a simple design flaw overall. I have seen other reviews from other websites saying the same thing, so if this is happening to you, your not alone. On a light note. Connecting the device to a usb 3.1 port, transferring 61gb(roughly 1 hour of 4k video) of data to a SSD drive, it took about 8min to transfer, not bad. Connecting a standard usb 3.0 cable to the device and plugging into a standard usb 3.0 port, it took about 18min to transfer the same file(I'm assuming this is roughly the speed you would get out of a standard XQD card, I could be wrong). Bottom line, card speeds and usb ports do make a difference. Note: The usb 3.1 cord that comes with it is .5m long(roughly a foot), The device itself is as small as a basic wireless computer mouse.

USB-c Cable Poorly Made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The reader itself works fine, but the USB-c cable either doesn't fully connect, requiring me to hold it in place at either end (or both) to achieve transfer, and this doesn't work every time. Fortunately, I have an Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable (same connectors as USB-c), which allows for a secure connection to my iMac Pro.
