Customers often highlight the ease of use, ample storage capacity, and convenient USB and Lightning compatibility of the iXpand 128GB flash drive. Many appreciate its compact size and reasonable price, finding it effective for expanding iPhone and iPad memory. The file transfer process was also noted by some as occasionally problematic with large files.

I’ve had this memory stick for my iPhone devices for a few months now and I have to say it works great. Now, it’s so easy to transfer pictures and videos to other devices or to my iMac and external hard drives. I like how it accesses to and from Apple’s iMovie app, works perfectly !

A very good product with sample photos and videos on each stick which reduces the amount of memory space on the unit. You go from 128GB to 119 GB of available space. Deleting some pics, videos and music will free up some space.

The company that makes this has a vary good reputation. This drive I got, is for back up of my new Apple IPad 10.5 Pro. I am an old stick in the mud and do not like cloud storage. They say it is encrypted. That is all good and well but someone may at some time unencrypt those files. I just think if I do my own back ups they would have to steal this drive from me and then unencrypt the drive. It is not that I have all that important information because I do not. I just do not believe in putting my information out there at risk. I personally do not understand Facebook and sites like that. My personal information is just that and is not out there for everyone to see. Apple has the cloud for back ups No Can Do with Apple cloud. Well, now you know way I got this drive for the IPad and it works just fine and why would it not. It is strait forward. Pretty simple anymore. Now, The Apple IPad is another story. I have been a Windows person forever. I understand windows pretty well but am not an expert! Apple has a different idea and it is not so easy to understand when one is used to windows and older like I am. I am sure it will come with time and use of this IPad. It is a learning curve that I did not expect! The drive work great and does what it is designed for. I have no problems with the drive but now Apple IPad is another story.

To start with, I have not been disappointed with Sandisk products. Prior to buying the iXpand drive I was, and still use, the Sandisk Connect wireless flash drive 64gb.
The iXpand is equipped with your standard USB connection on one side, and a lighning wire connection on the other. The 128gb is curved at the end, so it essentially "clips" to your iPhone or iPad when you plug it in.
It has its own app, but you can use the Files app in iOS just as easily.
My only complaint would be that large movie files cannot play. The workaround for that is to get the Apple USB3 camera adapter. This allows you to plug a thumb drive in and a lightning wire cable, so you are providing the extra power the iPad or iPhone needs to play large files.

One of the better lightning flash drives

I bought this iXpand 128 GB lightning flash drive during the Black Friday weekend. A couple days earlier, on Thanksgiving, i bought the iPad 5th Generation 32GB in silver. I opted for 32GB over the 128 GB 5th Generation iPad. Because of the Black Friday deal on the lightning flash drive and the iPad, I got both items for a little less than the full price of the 32GB iPad. I bought the iPad mainly for an online store that I plan on opening soon, and I needed a way to edit photos of my items (I want to be able to crop photos and make photo montages). The app store offers various Photoshop apps for free, and that was a plus because I did not want to purchase the software for my aging PC laptop. I also needed a way to transfer photos taken from my Nikon DSLR to my laptop, then from my laptop to my iPad, so the iXpand lightning flash drive seemed like the best option. Besides transferring of photos, I can also backup the files in one convenient place without having to spend a monthly charge for more iCloud space. I've read that his drive is good for photos and music, as well as copying movies onto it, but my iPad is now only being used for my business, I was hoping that I could store apps on the drive and run them from the drive on the iPad, but I don't think that's possible. And since my iPhone only has 16 GB of space, I stream my music rather than buying music. I've also read that it's possible to transfer Microsoft Word files from your computer and open them up on your iPad, but the reverse does not work. So if you buy this lightning flash drive, know that it does have limitations. There is also another lightning flash drive that I was considering from a different company. I liked that one because it could also be used to charge your iDevice as well, but the maximum storage space is only 64GB and I wanted 128GB of space. Although 64 GB is sufficient, I'm thinking long-term, and 128GB of space for around $25 more than the 64 GB lightning flash drive was more appealing.

Yes, it really is this cheap, yes, it really holds this capacity, yes, you can hook it in your iPhone, yes you can hook it in your desktop. No competition for this out there - not for sale at Best Buy. Removable storage, for some reason, is available for cheap these days. I've picked up 32GB thumb drives at gas stations (not with lightning port though) for about 5 or 6 dollars, and they work... for years... like... still working. Why are hard drives so expensive ..... ??? Anyway, if you need what this does, take comfort in knowing you are getting ripped off much less than you should be.

I needed a way of getting my many photos off my phone and onto storage. The icloud makes it very difficult to download (I think they want you to buy more space.) This scandisc is very easy to use with the app . I can use it on my iphone and my ipad. You can download quickly and organize your pics. Then I transfer them to an external hard drive on my computer. I am a fairly savy 72 year old so if I can do it you can too! Thank you scandisc for another great product

This is my second one. I bought the 32 gig last year. My iPhone just has been full of photos I haven't wanted to delete since 2014. It was time to transfer them somewhere to create space. So I filled the 32 gig w/ is about 300 photos. And Just starting to use the 128GB. Super easy, plugs into the iPhone, open up the SanDisk app, transfer files over. Keeps me at ease knowing my photos are safe. I haven't tried any files yet, mostly photos and videos. Best Buy had the best pricing too and the only place I found the 128GB.

I was on the fence about photosticks for a while, especially since the price point seemed a bit steep. Why would I need it when there's iTunes for backing up my phone as long as I have enough storage on the computer and iCloud to back up my stuff regularly as long as I'm connected to WiFi and plugged in at night, heck even Google photos syncs with my photo library. That's already 3 places to store my stuff.
However becoming a parent and also being paranoid of losing precious videos and photos and my iPhone having issues with iTunes back ups lately (plus me not wanting to pay for extra iCloud storage). I caved and finally bought the iXpand and umm WOW!
I now know why the price point is justified. Not only does the iXpand store you data, but it has a pretty cool app with a great interface that does more than I expected but truly enjoy that it does. For example, 1) the app makes a back up of my device from where we left off last so no duplicates and effective use of storage space, 2) once the app does the back up it ORGANIZES your media in folders by years and months - thank you, just thank you SanDisk, and 3) it offers to remove the photos and videos you have backed up already from your phone to free up space so you don't need to go and do it manually yourself! Those three are the most important to me and stood out the most to me.
Now I don't know what I'd do without it. It literally is so easy to use yet does so much. I even have two because I wanted to make sure my husband has his stuff backed up as well. If you need a SMART storage solution, this is it 100% hands down.

I really like this item, if you own a iPhone or iPad you need one of this flash drives . Comes in various sizes 32 gig to 256 gigs . No matter if your saving pictures, music, videos, backing up your phone, or moving data files . This flash drive will help you do that and the app is very easy to use while transferring items . It has a usb at one end and lighting connection at the other end. Very handy to have when your moving things from you device without connecting to iTunes. Or from one device to another. Definitely worth a try and a buy . I recommend and would buy again.

I admit, I bought this for my iPad because I didn’t want to buy more iCloud space. And it works lovely in that aspect! It’s speedy, it’s small, works like a charm! It does have a habit of getting real hot when I plug it into computers, so be mindful of that.
Can it replace iCloud? Unfortunately, I wouldn’t say so. The reason being, if you want access to the photos, it HAS to be plugged in. With ICloud, your stuff is readily available 24/7. There’s also the fact that you can’t charge your iPad and have this thing plugged in too.
I still love it, and I have all my files on it.
