    Great SSD for Windows installation

I was running Windows 7 on my Asus G75V but started having Windows update problems. I finally scrapped the SSD and got this new one and installed Windows 10 on it. It's only a 240GB drive, but that's perfect for Windows. I put other data on other drives and that way when Windows goes south my important data is still OK.

I had to buy it because in the store was the only option besides the entry line pny ssd drves. The price was good, and i really recommend it. After several tests, it responded great. it performs as expeected of a SATA 3, and the sandisk manager soft looks nice, similar to kingston´s

I was looking for an affordable SSD for my fiancées laptop and with her using mainly for email, browsing, and video streaming she didn't need anything with crazy horsepower. I have used SanDisk microsd cards for cameras and phones and they have been nothing but reliable! I also looked at Samsung Evos which is probably the best in the market but with her needs it would be useless. It is currently installed and we have not run into any issues and the installation was very quick and easy. Mind you, her laptop has SATA I which underwhelms the power of the SSD, but is still a night and day difference.

I do computer repair for a living. When a customer’s hard drive needs to be replaced, it’s nearly always one of these PNY ssd’s. They’re inexpensive, fast and reliable. My only problem is the local Best Buy store is too often out of stock.

When the time comes to replace your hard-drive, replace it with an SSD. You will experience faster boot-up times and an overall faster computer. These drives are also more reliable because there are no moving parts like a standard drive.

    Speeds up Win 7 boot

Bought this SSD after my old Windows 7 machine's HDD died. The old drive would take over 5 minutes to boot completely (OK, maybe I didn't defrag my HDD often enough, but it was still a long time) . The 240 GB SSD was cheaper than the 500 GB SSD at the time of purchase, almost 1/2 the price of the 500GB SSD, so I just bought the 240 and used the rest to buy the 2TB HDD for data storage as described below. Because of a program I was using I had to stay with a Win7 machine, so I got a refurbished desktop CPU and bought this SSD to use as the system drive and installed a 2TB Western Digital HDD for data storage. Before installing the SSD I read a lot of complaints about the Sandisk and WD cloning software, so I followed a recommendation and used the free version of Macrium Reflect to clone the refurbished machine's 250 GB system HDD onto this SSD. When done, I pulled out the HDD and installed this SSD, and it booted right up. With the refurbished machine and this SSD the boot only takes 75 seconds, including entering the password. Use the Sandisk Dashboard monitoring software to monitor health of the SSD. So far mine is running just fine, and be sure and turn "TRIM" on (Trim allows an operating system to inform a solid-state drive (SSD) which blocks of data are no longer considered in use and can be wiped internally.) In the older Win 7 machines the SATA connections are only 3 GB/s, and this SSD can handle 6 GB/s. But who cares, as it still runs blindingly faster than the HDD. So far this SDD has been working fine, and if it does die on me, I have the original 250 GB HDD that I can swap back in if necessary. I'd recommend this SSD to a parent, not just a friend.

I replaced a standard hard drive in my computer and this was a simple install and it is extremely small. First thing you notice is how fast windows boots up. It is extremely fast. Well worth the upgrade. Only negative I can see is that writing music or video to it seemed much slower but that could just be the CPU slowing it down. For regular use it is a worthwhile upgrade and speeds up your computer.

Easy to install. Fitment is perfect in my MacBook Pro. Haven’t booted and installed the OS yet but from other reviews I’m sure the laptop will run much better. Excited to try it out!

Best thing I've done for my computer. With the Solid State Drive my computer boots up and opens web sites, files, etc very quickly, no more waiting for things to open. Glad I had one put in.

I bought this SSD for around $65 and it was worth every penny. I recently built my own PC and I already had an SSD dedicated to my OS and a HDD dedicated to general file storage. I bought this SSD to install miscellaneous programs to achieve great boot times and it does not dissapoint. Installation was easy. It is very lightweight so for those who wish to lose some weight from their computer while gaining faster read/write speeds, I highly suggest buying this SSD on sale.

My computers are not used for gaming. They are used for business. I have been adding extra life to my older computers with solid state drives as the original mechanical hard drives fail. I have used two of these SanDisc SSDs, six months apart, in two different computers running the Windows 7 Pro operating system. Start up time and operating speed in general have improved. They have been reliable, and cost much less money than purchasing a new computer.

Bought this to replace HDD to speed up my Win10 Desktop... Works like a charm. Does just what it promises and no more. Fast and unobtrusive and cheap. No need for more for a basic desktop.

I wanted to upgrade the old hard drive in an even older workstation. This installed snappy and was able to clone very easily so I didn't have to perform a complete install of Windows 10. Everything works very well and this thing really flies. It boots very quickly, quicker than it ever has. I use AutoCAD and other drafting software for work and the drive never lags, applications load very quickly and in all, this is a big performance upgrade.

I work on cash registers for restaurants and when a hard drive fails in one of them, I replace it with an ssd and this sandisk is one of tthe better ones out there as far as reliability and speed. on average it takes a register with a hard drive 3-5 minutes to boot because of all the stuff it loads. With an ssd, it boots in under 2 minutes.

Installed without a problem. Has increased my son slow I-3 laptop's speed exponentially! The laptop used to take 2 1/12 minutes to boot to the login screen of windows. It now takes just a few ticks longer than 30 seconds! Her constant hang ups and long wait times in Facebook and other apps have become a thing of the past. If you are like me and bought a slow laptop for some reason, this is the way to make it behave as it should.

I've installed several different SSD hard drives and have already had a Crucial SSD fail. Installing a SSD is easier and faster than a regular drive. Physically it is the same, but the software loads much faster. It cut the boot time from over a minute to about 10 seconds. No more waiting around for windows to boot. It runs cooler and uses less power. The battery lasts longer and the fan runs less. Will I buy again? Yes.
