If you can't find the Samsung 860 cheap, this SanDisk should work fine for most applications. One exception is older Macs that have a SATA II interface. If the SSD (which is SATA III) is used in such a Mac, it will run at SATA I speed (or won't boot the Mac). Don't know of any PCs with this issue. So, bottom line: These are fine for SATA III Macs but, if you have a SATA II Mac, get the Samsung (which is backward compatible and will run at the speed of the SATA bus).

This improved my laptop's speed greatly. Very easy install, also comes with instructions on how to download software to make an image of you old hard drive.

I am using this SSD as my main boot drive right now and it works great! I'm able to have a few games on there, can fit a good handful of smaller games/files. Larger games/files will fill this up quickly, so if you're thinking of using it for larger files, might want to look into a larger SSD or at the least a secondary drive.

Great drive for the cost. If you are building a new computer you need a SSHD for the OS. This offers good size and speed for any new machine to boost performance.

It's an cheap SSD, does the job and it's been a reliable drive. It's a must for older computers if you would like to run Windows 10.

Worked out of the box with decent speeds and hasn't died yet. What more could you want from a budget SSD?

Got my MacBook Pro computer working faster and smoother than ever before. A way better upgrade than the standard HD. Very lightweight and went in easily.

It might not be a Samsung SSD but it is definitely worlds faster than your standard hard drive. No issues so far. Installed Windows 10 super fast.

I needed an ssd for some testing I was doing. I know this isn't the fastest one on the market but it far exceeded what I expected. This is worth the money.

It s cheap fix to make your laptop run faster. I have bought couple of these in the past and they still work pretty decent.

If you really wanted to boost performance to your older system then u don't need whole new system. Just go for upgrading HDD to SSD. And feel the difference

Friends computer HD was failing in laptop..bought this unit, moved over all data and it worked as advertised. All should have SSD's in computers..love them..

Ever since I started converting to SSD's this has been my go to drive. Great performance and price!

I bought this because I was doing a new build but had bought a used Samsung EVO to put in it. I had a problem and thought it was the Samsung. I was able to bring the system up on this drive without a problem but further testing showed that the Samsung was not bad it was just a configuration issue. I returned the SanDisk and explained the above. The customer service person was very friendly and processed my return quickly. The drive was very easy to install and was very fast (possibly faster than the Samsung). Great drive and great customer service from Best Buy.
