Got this on the cheap during a Best Buy sale. Popped it in my old PS3. I don’t have a lot of games for it that I still play so it suited my needs. I have the original (forgot how little storage capacity that thing had brand new) stashed in a sealed anti-static bag as a backup. Performance of the SSD is noticeably quicker than the factory drive. Sony should just put SSDs standard in future PlayStation iterations.

I replaced a mechanical drive in a small laptop a few weeks ago. My main concern was with shock to the mechanical drive as the laptop is pretty mobile. Used disk clone software to clone from the old drive and dropped in the SSD with no problems. The battery seems to be lasting longer and the laptop seems quicker with the SSD, as you would expect. Very happy with the drive.

I'm the go-to guy to buy new laptops for all my wife's friends and family. I immediately rip out the included mechanical drive and install a SSD. For 99% of users *ANY* SSD will be tremendously better than the original drive in any system. Only super power users need the top of the line SSD's for gaming or just having 'the best'. For everyone else there are these, for a fair amount less cost. I've trusted SanDisk in SD flash memory for many years and they've never let me down. Same goes for the SSD's. I've kept to Ultra II's for my own systems, but fer everyone else, used the Plus line or similar. Basically these will allow you to tolerate a WinPC. Going back to a normal drive you'll wonder how you ever did without one. If you're unsure about performance differences, just try one and feel the speed and know you saved money.

Anytime you switch from an old mechanical hard drive to a Solid State Drive it is like breathing new life into an old laptop. This isn't the fastest SSD on the market but for the price it can't be beat.

My hard drive died and I needed a new one. The original hard drive was a 7,200 rpm and was decently fast. I installed this new drive and was BLOWN AWAY by how fast it boots up.. In fact, its unbelievably fast. Don't hesitate to buy it if you need a new main drive. Comes with a 3 year warranty if you register on the San Disk site.
