Error message problem

The only way to get out was to turn off the computer and restart. I tried both USB ports; same thing happened. I have other flash drives; this does not happen. Hopefully, this was just a defective item.

It functioned for a couple of months, and then suddenly became an unrecognizable device to the computer. I took the device to Best Buy Geek Squad, and they told me that the device had a hardware failure, and I needed to go to Sandisk support to get it replaced.

Someone must have reformatted a smaller sized flash drive and programed it to say it tolds more than it actually does.
