I only purchase these large capacity flash drives from Best Buy when they're on massive sale (which seems to be more frequently as of late). They are great for storing pictures that I have taken so that I can transfer the images onto the flash drive and save up space on my laptop hard drive. Plus they are convenient, portable, and less likely to fail if you were to drop it, unlike an external hard drive. I usually end up picking these up when they're around $25-$50 depending on how badly I need them, and it's always nice to have a backup to my backups :P.

Excellent thumb drive. Retractable usb connector with an easy to use slide. And although I personally do not trust key rings on plastic devices, this one does have one.
Best of all 3.0 USB speed. Great for large backups.

A lot of storage for the money. I like that the flash drive is short in comparison with others of the same capacity. That's important to me because I use the flash drive to store my music. I listen to it in my car. The USB port in my car is in the glove box - a terrible location. It's nice to have a short stick as it doesn't interfere with the other items I have in the box. I can leave it plugged in all the time and put stuff in the car's utility box without fretting about the stick breaking off or coming out of the port.
