2012 MacBook Pro i7 GT650M came to life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed this SSD to improve the speed on my laptop, and boy it did, also considerably big in space for the price, the gain in performance is unbelievable, I run multiple VM's with Parallels and this disk really helps a lot for a stable system run.

Well overdue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was more of a repair than it was an upgrade. I was having problems with my 4 year old mechanical hard drive, and decided that the time was right for an SSD. The pricing on ssds have made them approachable walked into the store, purchase it to get home migrated my data and installed it. My machine is so much faster that even thought it would be. I know that should have been the case I'm still surprised. It's remarkable how much difference there is between the performance of an SSD and a HDD. It was indeed the bottleneck in the performance of my high performance machine.

Great SSD
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed an SSD for the wife as an extra storage slot since her current hard drive was getting to capacity, We didn't need anything too big, and for the price with the added peace of mind of the name SanDisk, this was a no-brainer. Can't go wrong with this SSD and I definitely recommend it!

Better than Ever SSD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a difference! The latest version of the Scandisk SSD is faster, 'cleaner' and makes an upgrade remarkably simple. Anyone looking for an SSD, should focus on the 480 GB version to avoid a second upgrade after filling up a smaller SSD. The price is amazing and you will notice the difference as soon as you boot up.

Super fast and at a great price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this for almost a month after a HD crash on my desktop computer. I loaded only Windows 10 and programs on to this new drive, no files or documents, it is more than enough room for that. Boots up in 20 seconds or less instead of waiting for the drive to spin up and read and then load which felt like forever. This drive is very fast I'm running photoshop and Lightroom at the same time and it's so much faster, worlds faster. I'm working with loading stitched images which used to take from 5 minutes to hours to build, now I can do it all in minutes or less! Why didn't I do this sooner...the price, these drives just started to come down in price. I got this on sale for under 80 bucks. If you've been thinking of doing this now is the time SSD are cheaper and 10 times faster. BestBuy always has one type or another on sale.

Boosted performance from a going to this SSD over the mechanical 5400rpm HD that was in my dell laptop. Boot time is now 10 seconds compared to 3 minutes. Highly recommend.

Great replacement for hard disk drive in desktop.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Changed Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to SSD in HP Pavilion p6-2136b desktop PC. Very pleased with the results. My desktop is much faster now, from bootups to program execution time. An easy and inexpensive upgrade, which I highly recommend to bring new life to an older desktop pc. I also value that the SSD is more reliable than a hard disk drive. Below are details on the procedure I followed for this upgrade: Items used: 1) SanDisk Ultra 500GB SSD (from Best Buy, on sale for about $65). 2) StarTech.com USB 3.0 to 2.5” SATA HDD/SSD Cable (from Amazon for about $12). 3) Insignia SSD Mount for 2.5” Solid State Drives (from Best Buy, for just under $10). 4) Todo Backup Free 12.0 software (downloaded from the EaseUS web site for free). Steps followed: 1. First, connected the SSD to the HP Pavilion via a USB port, using the StarTech cable. This HP Pavilion desktop pc is quite old; and, it only had USB 2.0 ports. Even though the StarTech cable is intended to be used on a USB 3.0 port, with faster data transfer speed, the cable worked when connected to the USB 2.0 port. 2. Second, checked to make sure that the SSD was detected by the HP Pavilion. The Windows “Disk Management” application detected the SSD as Disk 2; however, I got a pop-up message that this disk needed to be initialized. I clicked the “Master Boot Record (MBR)” option. 3. Third, cloned the internal 500GB HDD to the SSD. The “Acronis True Image” software from the (Western Digital) SanDisk web site did not work for me. (That software did not find a Western Digital or SanDisk drive; and, the only option was to close the software program.) Instead, I used Todo Backup Free 12.0 software to clone the HDD. I made sure that the source drive was the HDD (Disk 1), and the target drive was the SSD (Disk 2). The clone took about 2 hours to complete. 4. Fourth, replaced the internal HDD with the SSD. Turned off the HP Pavilion; disconnected all cables, etc.; opened the case; and, took out the HDD. Attached the SSD drive (and Insignia SSD mount) to the disk drive mounting bracket, by rotating the SSD 90 degrees clockwise from the previous position for the HDD. (This allowed the screw holes to line up.) The screws originally used to attach the HDD appeared larger than needed, so I used the smaller screws that came with the Insignia SSD mount instead. Attached the SATA cable and power cable, which was used for the HDD, to the SSD. Finally, closed the case and reattached cables, etc. 5. Finally, turned on the HP Pavilion. It booted up much faster than before!

Zippy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed to upgrade the hard drive on my laptop. This little beauty did the trick. Doubled the storage space, and gave me a performance boost too. My machine is almost like it’s brand new. Everything opens quicker, copy times are down. Some of the geek bench results have this on par with a machine a couple years newer. Very happy with this.

Great upgrade to speed up an aging PC/Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Solid State Drive is just what you need to get an old PC or laptop to speed up on boot up, when copying files and general performance overall. This drive put new life in a PC of mine along with an adapter plate, cutting boot time in half on a Win7 Ultimate installation. For a laptop this can be a simple plug-n-play installation with the most difficult part being the restore or reload process. For a PC an adapter may be needed to secure the drive in the case. I've converted many computers to SSD from a spinning hard drive and this is an awesome product to do just that. I've purchased many SanDisk SSD's and have yet to have one fail in 3+ years. It is my go to brand and the price point is awesome.

Great for Desktop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having problems installing a 250GB SSD into my desktop from another manufacturer, I decided to spend a few more bucks for this model. Installation & setup was a breeze! Been two months with no problems, double the capacity, higher transfer rates, and extremely fast boots/gaming/workloads, etc. I couldn't be happier!

Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased when my hard drive crashed on my 2 yo Toshiba laptop. It was a mechanical failure and date could not be recovered. GS recommended I consider a SS drive. I bit more expensive than a standard drive but well worth it. Blazing speed and minimal worries related to lost data if there is a failure. Highly recommended!

Like new laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid state hard drives make pc's much faster. My wife complained her HP laptop took forever to startup and very sluggish. I know I could spend time and money cleaning program's and partitioning her computer. I had cloned a new solid state hard drive on my personal desktop and found a huge improvement in performance. So I knew what to expect when replacing my wife's hard drive from old fashioned mechanical to solid state. I was not disappointed! My wife is now very happy and that makes me happy. The price is a little steep but doing this is like buying a new computer!
