Upgrading a laptop from a HDD to an SSD is a no brainer. This drive makes the transition flawless. This drive is fast, reliable, and does everything it needs to do, without fail....yet. SanDisk is a reliable company in my book, and this SSD reinforces my opinion of the brand.

This is my second solid state drive. The first one was quite a bit smaller and I liked it so well, I bought this larger drive....I use both drives in my computer and I love the increased speed of opening up programs and documents.

I have been told how reliable and fast an SSD drive is. Once the proper steps were taken to install the SSD, prep for install of windows 10,and started the installation. 45 minutes later, the software was asking the setup questions to prepare the desktop. I need some time to acclimate to how fast my computer is with an SSD is. Yes, I created a muscle computer! Current technology motherboard, 16 GB memory and an i7-7700K processor.

I explained my computer problem to the Geek Squad. My desktop is 6 years old and was slow, slow, slow, and freezing. They said I need to new hard drive and recommended the solid state Scan Disk Ultra 512 GB. Now, I have a new computer! Fast to start up and fast with all my work. Instead of buying a new desk top for over $1,000, I paid about $300 between the hard drive and Geek Squad installation. I'm happy!

This is the 4th one i own. These are fast, reliable, and fairly priced. I’ve had the best luck with these in my Macs, other brands have let me down with use in Macs in the past.

I acquired a late 2012 macbook Pro for free, even though it runs great with original equipment i thought that i would try an SSD to see how much better it would perform, considering that i now only have $80 invested in this beast it was an easy decision. I have to say the speed is remarkable. Just loading a webpage from start is mili seconds compared to the loading circle of death from before. I haven't done any benchmarks to speak of but i'm sure they would blow me away. Installation was a breeze, I used SuperDuper! to clone the SSD, it took about 15 min. I suggest that no matter what laptop or desktop you have, if you have a regular HD upgrade to SSD, you will think your computer took steroids.

I replaced all my HDD drives in 2 laptops and 1 desktop with these SSDs. The machine works better than when I bought it new. Boot time is less than 5 seconds and gaming is phenomenal. Why did I not do this earlier.

This Sandisk drive is a worthy product if you have a SATA connection and I recommend it. But there are lots – and sometimes confusing - options out there. This is a nice drive at a nice price and has a 3 year warranty. It used to be that adding memory was the best option for a quick relatively “cheap” performance upgrade Today its replacing your spin drive with an SSD. If you are looking to boot Windows faster, speed up your day to day processing tasks, extend battery life of a laptop and not have to worry about any moving disk platters SSD’s are the way to go. I have replaced all of my main drives on my computers. If you have never cloned a drive, I would suggest using minitoolpartition for free as it works well. Also, to make it very easy to clone the drive I purchased a 2.5-inch USB SATA external case. That allows me to pop the new drive into the case, attach it to the computer, start minitoolpartiton, select copy disk wizard – and follow directions. Once replaced you can use the old drive you took out in the case as an extra external USB drive. I replaced the spin drive in my dad’s almost 10-year-old Toshiba laptop. Kudos to Toshiba laptop design as access to the drive was very easy requiring only removing 1 screw to access the drive bay. As they say in commercials – your access times/effort – may vary. Unfortunately, this Toshiba was so old it had only a SATA II interface so its theoretical speed is limited to 3 Gb/s where SATA III is 6 Gb/s. This is important as the performance/speed gains were not nearly as great as it could have been. BUT it was still worth it as read/write access speeds doubled. You can check as to what interface your system has using speccy – its free as well, and will give you quite a bit of system info. Also just FYI that Sandisk is now owned by Western Digital (WD) Great drive for the price!

This SanDisk ssd drive is awesome. I upgraded my laptop that I purchased in 2010, this computer was slow. It would take like 15 minutes to log in, warm up and be usable. After installing this ssd drive it only takes 30 seconds from being completely shutdown to logging in and using excel. I was truly shocked by the difference. My computer is now faster than brand new ones that have the old hdd drives.

Way better than the corporate model. You really can’t go wrong if you just wanna throw down some data. Don’t expect low times to impress all those nerdlings. Although, if your boss tells you they need a SSD you can say at least it’s not western digital

SanDisk 512GB great for older MacBook Pro

Purchased as a replacement for a MacBook Pro (2013). Previously purchased a Samsung 1TB drive but it was not compatible with the older Mac. Older MacBook creates a partition conflict with 1TB internal hard drives, this 512 GB was a perfect fit! Installation was easy and Apple Mac OSX upgrades were easy. I chose to initially install the "suggested OS for my laptop from the Apple website (Mavericks) and then directly upgraded to Catalina OSX very easily. I thought this SATA III drive would not be compatible with my older MacBook Pro, so far there are no performance issues. I HIGHLY recommend this hard drive for older MacBooks! I returned my first Samsung purchase with no problems, Best Buy customer service was great!
