The SanDisk app loaded easily & will enable me to organize photos, videos etc in my phone. I wanted to download a bunch of photos onto the disk itself to transfer on flash drives as a backup; but I can only transfer to a computer.. THEN onto the flash drive, making an extra step I hoped to avoid. The images I wanted to transfer were in my phone were already separate folders. Unfortunately, the SanDisk app doesn't let me access my folders, it only pulled EVERYTHING on my phone into long scrolls hard to see, which made this very difficult. I will continue working on learning more to get the most out of this. I like that it is a sturdy metal piece fits easily on my keychain and flips for dual use.

Love this dual sided USB device. I’m currently using this drive as a transfer between an external music device and my MacBook Pro with USB-C only. The fact that it has both types means one less ridiculous Apple dongle I have to buy just to transfer files. Slim design and a cool finish set it apart from all the other thumb drives I’ve used over the years.

Perfect for what I need. I had data that I had to move over from an old computer that only had the old usb connection to an XPS that only has the usb-c’s. So this was the one I’ve been looking for so to say. It’s also just is a great sleek design. Conveniently small, build quality is surprisingly tough. Fast too. I could go on because I’m a nerd. But I won’t bore you. Just get it. You won’t regret it.

Love the speed and love how streamlined the design is. One issue to note is that this does get hot to the touch. I was transferring over a bigger file, and when I went to remove the flash drive - it was uncomfortably hot. Had to wait for it to cool down.

I have an iPad Pro 11” with a USB-C charging port and I was looking for something to backup my pictures and videos to my PC with a USB-A port. Based on what I read in the description and the packaging, I need to download the memory zone app which provides automatic photo backup. However, after looking on the App Store and talking to western digital (San disk) product support , I discovered the app is only for android devices. When I plug the flash drive in my iPad Pro, it shows up in the Files app. It allows me to copy my pix and videos to the flash drive, but I have to do it manually and unlike the iXpand app, I have to manually create folders for each year and month, and painstakingly copy each file to the correct folder. I had no issues copying the files from the flash drive to my PC. The flash drive does get hot when plugged in, so don’t leave it in any longer than it needs to be. Also, there is no cap so only one side is protected at a time when it is not plugged in. To summarize, it gets the job done, but you have to manually do everything. If you don’t care about organizing thousands of pictures, then this one is fine. But if you do care and can find another flash drive that has an app that does it for you automatically , then get that one!

having both types of USB is very useful at this transition stage of electronic devices, where some have the full size, while others are tending to the C. It works and looks expensive....you'll want to keep this one and not readily give it away....like I do for so many of the other thumbdrives that I've owned!

Great buy: blazing read, inconsistent write speed

Full disclosure: this is my first Type-C usb drive. After reading about these speed of these devices for months, I finally purchased the 64G model (on sale) for the speed and the convenience of the dual type-A/type-C portability. The read speed was, indeed, everything for which a type-C was lauded. The write speed is very fast for large files, but for numerous (thousands) of small files the drive often slows to a crawl. I suspect this is not a specific issue to this device, but a function of usb devices in general, as all my type-A drives slow down similarly when archiving these same files. However, for under $20, I couldn't be happier. This drive allows me complete and convenient file portability to my older type-A devices. As others have likely noted, it does heat up quite a bit, but not alarmingly. Caps to protect the ports would have been a nice touch. Great buy for the price!

Decent little thumb drive that has both a USB-A and USB-C ports for the same drive that allows you to use it with any computer and some iPads and Android devices. Only complaint is it can get really hot after a short while of use.

Works perfectly, looks great with my HP Envy x360 and feels SO sturdy since it's METAL. I've never had a metal flash drive, but I think it's genius! I love how compact it is even though it's dual drive. It's perfect!
