Handy Little Flash Drive at Good Price

A tiny flash drive that packs quite a storage punch at 128 gigabytes. However, when I initially popped it into my laptop, it only had 114 GB total free space to utilize. Now, I know from years of previous experience with flash drives that of course there will be some storage space already filled and used due to formatting and such, as well as something about computer data being in binary format and the conversion rate contributes to the difference, but I was a bit taken aback with the 14gb "lost" storage capacity. Nevertheless, 114GB is plenty enough storage space for most of us, depending on what we use flash drives for. For my personal use, such as storing pictures, documents, and videos, it is good enough. I like that it is so small, less than 2 inches long. I also like that it has a little plastic loop at one end so that it can be easily attached to a key ring or lanyard, etc. It is also fast when transferring data to or from the flash drive. The only thing I would have preferred it to have is a cover for the part that sticks into the computer port, just for safety reasons--so it wouldn't get banged up or get dirt or dust inside it; I have other flash drives that have covers for that part. Otherwise, overall, it's a good buy.

Perfect flash drive for your keychain!

The SanDisk Ultra Eco flash drive is the perfect flash drive to put on your keyring. It feels durable and is small and light enough that it really doesn't had a ton of bulk to your keyring. In addition, it supports the latest USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard which improves data transfer rates and makes the 100 MB/s speed possible. In testing it seems to come in just under that which is to be expected with overhead and would make this a recommend for sure. Given that it also includes recovery software I'd consider that an extra and useful in situations where you might have accidentally deleted a file from it and wish to recover that file (provided it's not been overwritten or securely deleted). I have a smaller drive like this that has a Type C connector and A connector like this one and cannot stand how it flips around and now the housing is loose. Most of the time I just use the Type A port but the C would be a welcomed feature to have on the back side for occasional use like with a phone to backup or copy photos for example. Either way though, this is still a good drive and one I'd recommend!

I picked this up to use to transport files from computer to computer at my home and it fits nicely in my pocket, and the color stands out from other black computer stuff i have around, so it us spotted easily. It works fast and does it's job well. I transport a fewdocuments, but occasionally photos and video, and a a lot of music files. I've got at of music that is ripped that us not on streaming formats. All foes smoothly. I have done a few video downloads for playback in my van,and thjs works well also. When i use it in the van it's compact enough that it does not at risk of getting bumped in the port more than the headphones or the charging cords that stick out near it (depending on what port it's in). The price is good, the size is good, and it's eco friendly to boot. There is a download that comes with this for data recovery that I hope to never have to use, but it's nice to know it's there. I have no qualms reccomending this to people. No reason not to give it 5 stars, works well, and reminds me that my weekly recycling trips do some good somewhere.

Good speed and size

This flash drive is a good size and seems to have good speeds. The size is good that it's not so big as to be completely in the way, but not so small as to get lost if you place it in a bag. It sticks out of the USB port at roughly 1-3/8". I do wish it had a read/write activity light. That way as I'm moving files in the background, I have a visual of then that is complete. The integrate loop is large enough for a lanyard. This helps with the retrieval process if in a busy bag or pocket, though I think I'll tend to leave my plugged into my mac.
The read/write speeds appear to be acceptable thus far. I'm not one of those guys that clocks processor times and read/write speeds, but for your casual user, you should find this acceptable. Roughly, it seems to consistently seems to move 5-6 GB 4K movie files in about 3 minutes or less. If I play any videos directly from the thumb drive, I have not noticed any lag issues and the video plays smoothly. I've even been able to AirPlay cast with no lag. Overall, I'm happy with the drive.

Meets My Expectations

For the last few days, I've been testing the SanDisk 128GB Ultra Eco USB 3.2 Flash Drive. Overall, it meets my expectations for a flash drive.
In my testing I found that the SanDisk's actual capacity was 114 GB. Which is not surprising because most manufacturers consider 1000MB to be 1GB instead of the computer's calculation of 1024MB being equal to 1GB. The drive also came preloaded with data encryption software, but I did not test it. As for read/write speeds, the drive performed well but barely hit the 100 MB transfer speeds advertised. However, it was still 50% faster than my other Flash drives.
Transferring from a computer to the Flash drive (write speed)
For a large file (2.38 GB) it transferred at a max speed of 52 MBPS which dropped down to about 29 MBPS when the file was 65% complete. When transferring multiple small files, the transfer rate was below 2 MBPS.
Transferring from the Flash drive to a computer (read speed)
For a large file (2.38 GB) it transferred at a consistent 75 MBPS. When transferring multiple small files, the transfer rate started at 100 MBPS and quickly dropped to 22 MBPS.
With all that said, It's a decent Flash Drive at a decent price.

An under whelming drive that works well...
Don't let the title mislead you. I like this drive but I don't like that it does not have a cap to protect the USB interface and because I received this for review, there was no way to confirm the RescuePro software is available. I would say your milege may vary there. The drive performance is slightly better than most for reads but about average for writes. If you are worried or care a lot about recycled materials then this would be the drive for you. It does have a loop that you can use for a keychain but I would be skeptical to do that with the USB unprotected. If you have a way to safely store it and transport it then you won't be disappointed with this drive for the bang for your buck. It does come with the manual and software to encypt the data on the drive which is a plus if you need that for your regular use. I like look and feel of the drive, it does not feel cheap or have a lot of flex so it should stand up to the test of regular use.

As far as USB drives are concerned, the SanDisk Ultra Eco 128 GB drive is definitely one to consider.
It is solidly-made, so you’re not going to be too concerned with the feel of the device. It does attach to a USB port quite solidly, so it’s not going to be falling out of your chosen USB port.
Transfer times are great, though this will vary depending on the hardware that this will be used with. Overall, however, you’re not going to be slowed down in waiting for this device to be either written to or to be read from.
The main test that I used for this device was in updating the mapping software within a vehicle. After initial drive formatting, I had no issues in first transferring the data files from my vehicle manufacturer’s site to the USB device, and then from the USB device over to my vehicle. There were no issues in either hardware or software compatibility.
There are scores of choices for USB thumb drives on the market, and I do recommend the SanDisk Ultra Eco drive for all of your data portability needs.

Quick transfer speed, and environmentally friendly

This is a great little flash drive. With the speeds of USB 3.2, it is going to transfer all of the files very quickly, even if you're filling the entire 128 GB (this is slightly overstated, as always for any flash drive).
It is also great that this is made with recycled plastic. There really isn't any reason that everything needs to be new, so the use of more environmentally friendly materials is great. Particularly for something as small as a flash drive. It's not like they're having to source a huge amount as this is about as small and light-weight of a device as you can purchase. Is this worth paying a little more for? Probably. Companies respond when people vote with their wallets, so paying a little more for an environmentally-friendly product is worth it. Hopefully it will shift more products in such a direction, as we've seen recently with more cruelty-free, minimal packaging, and other such socially conscious adjustments to consumer products.
Nice flash drive, quick transfer speed, and environmentally friendly. :)

SanDisk is known for their computer accessories and mainly their storage devices. Just about everyone at this point in time has owned or used a thumb/flash drive. There isn't really much to them. The storage space for this drive is perfect. 128gb is more than enough to store pictures and documents.
I like that this flash drive has a loop at the top. I like to attach a lanyard to it to help keep track of it.
It's very simple to use. Just plug it into a USB port on your computer and it will bring up a file icon to be able to drag and drop things you want to store on it. When you're done, you just remove it from the port and you can be on your way with your newly saved documents! I personally like to use these flash drives to save the most important pictures from my computer. If the computer ever dies, at least I still have my pictures on the thumb drive!
Thumb drives are great for any student, business professional, photographer, or just about anyone who uses a computer nowadays.

No frills portable USB drive

What stands out from the SanDisk Ultra drive is the materials and manufacturing process. It's manufacturer with over 70% recycled plastics. Besides being good for the environment it does well as portable drive to carry your digital files on the go. With speeds up to 100MBs I wouldn't suggest you used it for large files. For example transferring 40gbs of movie files it was going take around 30mins+. I would keep it more for small files like documents or pictures. If you do plan to stored files over 4gb, just make sure to format it to exFAT or NTFS if not you will get an error due to the file size limitations from fat32. Out of the box it comes formatted as fat32.
The only extra features you get is an offer for RescuePro Deluxe data recovery software, which could come in handy in case you accidentally delete your files.
The designed is basic but overall footprint is on the smaller which is a good thing, especially when using it to recover an OS or do a fresh OS install, so it doesn't stick out so much from the desktop or laptop. With the built-in keyring loop you can easily attached them to your keys. The only complaint I have is that they could of included a cap to keep debris or dirt out.
Overall there's not much to discuss about the SanDisk Ultra Eco drive. It does a great job as a portable USB drive with the added benefit of being Eco Friendly to the environment. I personally would choose a product if it was made in a Eco Friendly way.

Saves the Day When You Need It

I’ll start with the premise you don’t think you need one of these until you do. Then you’re up a creek without a paddle. Sure SD and Micro SD cards are great for cameras but how do you manage files between computers and your other devices?
More importantly this has come in handy to update my sound bars, and other audio/theatre devices in my house that don’t just update themselves.
I’m currently in another country and what a safe bet to have this USB device. My peers and I needed to share files between different platforms and devices. I was the person who could facilitate this within the group. Our project was time sensitive and it meant we needed to be able to publish content on different social media sites but each of us had different contributions to the files.
Make sure you put it on a keychain or something because it is tiny and easy to lose. My only downside to this USB key is that it doesn’t have a cover to minimize or avoid getting debris in the connector.
Otherwise a great tool for professionals
or students who need to carry their college work.

You don't think there is a big difference until you plug it in and need to transfer or move information. I have a few computers, laptops, desktops as of such and from time to time I need to move information from one computer to the next. After doing some research, the biggest difference between 3.2 and 3.1 USB is file size and transfer rate. Not thinking too much about this. I managed to move a hundred song in just a few moments. Now I have an old thumb drive that was 500 GB. Space. Doesn't matter. Does. Maybe I was able to move a few more songs at a time, but when you reduce speed like this one does it makes all the difference. What used to take me 2 hours to move in space, now only takes me 30 minutes to move. Pictures? I don't think really count, it doesn't matter the filing format. Format they tend to move pretty fast. Regardless, that's more computing power. I highly recommend this to anybody who has sensitive information. They want to move quickly. The speed is definitely here on a 3.2 USB thumb drive.
