Other than being a very sturdy and well-built product, the other big highlight of this mount is that it’s a breeze to install with easy to follow setup instructions. Upon immediately opening the box, I was greeted with a handy, paper wall template which is used as a guide to figure out placement on my wall. They also have the full instruction manual which was easy to follow and it’s very well-written. For mounting I basically had to install the brackets to the back of my TV, mount the wall bracket to the wall with the appropriate hardware (it includes these gigantic 2-3/4” lag bolts for studs and it also includes concrete anchors), I then just placed my TV on the wall bracket, then secured it into place with the bottom brackets. From there all I had to do is make leveling and height adjustments. What’s great about the setup process is that I didn’t need to have the wall mount exactly perfect when I screwed it into the wall - there are leveling and height adjustments that can be used for fine tuning once the TV is installed. I found this to be incredibly convenient. Overall the installation took about 10-15 minutes. The mount itself is incredibly sturdy - I’ve purchased some “cheap” mounts before and they were in fact, cheap. This isn’t the cheapest mount around but it really does come down to “you get what you pay for”. The brackets are solid, they’re weatherproofed, and the hardware is all stainless steel. The mount allows for 7 degrees of upwards tilt and 10 degrees of downward tilt so there’s a good amount of flexibility there considering the mount itself only made my TV sit a little over 2 inches away from the wall. Being that this is an outdoor mount, they also make it convenient to remove the TV when needed where they have straps on each side of the TV brackets hidden behind the TV which release the bottom locks to then store the TV away. Highly impressed by this mount for the construction, the well-thought out instructions, and easy installation.

I used this Sanus Premium Outdoor Large TV Mount with Tilt with a 65” Samsung TV that weighs about 60 lbs which is less than half of what this heavy duty wall mount can handle. I’ve installed it in a partially opened/3-season room, so it’s not directly exposed to the elements but that does not mean this TV mount is not built for total outdoors exposure. It is made of quality stainless steel, anti-corrosion coated to perfection so it can withstand any outdoors conditions. Installation was much easier than I’ve experienced with other lower-end brands even though this is a heavier, bigger mount. That’s because the instructions it came with are very well written and the included wall template was easy to use. Moreover, it came with all the necessary bolts, hardware and extras to cover a variety of TV sizes and VESA mount types from 200x200mm to 600x400mm. Make sure you have these tools ready to guarantee the best install: Tape Measure, Pencil, Stud Finder, Level, Power Drill, 7/32" bit for wood or 3/8" bit for masonry, ½” Socket Wrench, Philips Screwdriver, Hammer. Once installed, it is a pretty low profile, just over 2” thick from the wall that makes it look nearly flush mount. Despite that, it still offers an easy tilt mechanism for up to 10 degrees forward or 7 degrees backward for best viewing angle to minimize glare, etc. Some may think this TV Mount is a bit pricey compared to others, but it is truly built from Premium materials that should last the test of time. Afterall you don’t install a TV mount every day, so it’s worth the extra $$.

The Sanus Outdoor Tilt mount provides an extremely sturdy mounting surface to mount the tv which gives me so much peace of mind as I entrust my 65” screen to it. Installation into the wall was a cinch and only required four holes and some elbow grease to get the lag bolts in. I opted for direct stud fastening to make sure it could hold any tv. Mounting the brackets to the back of the tv was easy and I love the quick release pull straps to remove the tv if needed. It slides easily back and forth on the mount for convenient alignment to match the middle of the seating area. It also tilts up or down for optimal viewing. This ability to tilt up and down also makes it incredibly easy to access the rear panel for any additional cables. It gives me additional peace of mind to know that this mount will be able to withstand the elements of being outside. I will probably still cover it just for extra protection and longevity, but I love knowing that why incidental exposure won’t be an issue. The hardware that came with it matched perfectly to my tv and it also comes with a SUPER long Allen wrench to reach and adjust the leveling if needed.

Sanus Premium Outdoor Tilt Mount is a sturdy and well-made outdoor TV mount. It is made with stainless steel hardware with corrosion resistant coating. I have used multiple Sanus TV mounts, and this is no exception, it is extremely easy to install and comes in a stylish design. The mount profile is sleek and slim, it sits almost flush to the wall when you mount the TV, so barely have any room between the TV and the wall. Once I decided where to mount this, using the wall plate template made it much easier to drill holes and screw in the bolts. All the necessary parts needed to mount this TV are included in the box. Although it is easy to do it yourself, I recommend having a helper with the setup and mounting the TV. Make sure your TV fits and is under the suggested weight. This is not a full motion mount, meaning you can't pull or swivel, it can tilt up and down. I really like the level and tilt adjustment after you install the mount. There is also an option to use a padlock for security. Overall, this is a strong mount with excellent quality for your outdoor mounting solution.

I live in central Texas, and we experience severe storms and high winds regularly. For this reason, I have been hesitant to mount an outdoor TV. Mainly because I have not trusted the mounts I have looked at or my technical installation expertise. Getting my hands on this mount was perfect timing, though. We recently put some much needed TLC into our backyard and made it a more inviting living space. I researched the Sanus brand prior to committing to a review because of the aforementioned. I did not want to get a rinky-dink mount that I would regret trying to install and, more importantly, regret hanging a television on, no matter its cost. I felt confident from the website alone that I was getting a superior product that my novice self could work with. Upon receiving the box, I knew that I was in for a treat. The box was quite heavy, which is different compared to my previous experience with indoor or outdoor wall mounts. My first observation when opening the box was that all the materials were nicely packaged and easily discernable. I was able to read the directions, gather my supplies, and then I watched a ton of videos on how to professionally install an outdoor wall mount. It took my son and me probably longer than it would take a more seasoned person, but we were successful and proud of our performance. When beginning, I do not recall whether Sanus’ instructions said to or not if it was in one of the many videos I watched but I would suggest that you make sure you have a wire or copper finder as well as a stud finder. This was one of my worries when preparing that I would inadvertently hit something I should not have. Luckily, the exterior wall did not have any unwanted surprises for me. Another note was something Sanus absolutely taught me was about the height finder resource on the Sanus website that allows you to enter the model number and find not only the right TV mount to use for your situation. In my case, I am using the Premium Outdoor Large Tilt for 37” – 95” televisions. The cool part is that it will actually let you see visually where the measurements for the holes for the mount are. Long story short, after about an hour and a half, we now have our 65” tv mounted and I feel perfectly confident with the quality and security of the mount. The tilt feature allows us to watch the TV at any point during the day without glare. Everything is as it should be, and to me, that is a solid win.
