Great TB4 dock

This is a great dock for those with a new TB4 Macbook. Note that the cables matter - definitely had some issues with older TB3 cables (the dock will properly drop to TB3 mode, but some faulty cables revealed their issues more readily when used with this dock). Replacing the cables with new certified TB4 cables did the trick!

Excellent unit, I like the post positioning and the face it gives me ports without also needing a separate power adapter. Only missing an HDMI port.

FINALLY! I have a dock that could run 2 monitors simultaneously without it mirroring each other or requiring software on my 2021 MBP M1 Pro. I went through 8 different docks till I found this one. I caught this when it was on deal of the day for $100 off.

The best thunderbolt 4 dock available

The best thunderbolt 4 dock available from any manufacturer.
My caldigit ts3 plus became unreliable when I upgraded my intel MacBook Pro to a M1Max MacBook Pro. The monitors would not wake from sleep. I needed to unplug and then plug the thunderbolt 3 cable back for it too work. In addition the external hard drives disconnected even with the intel MacBook Pro.
I purchased a sonnet echo 11 thunderbolt 4 dock and it worked for the monitors waking, but still disconnected the hard drives.
The Satechi Thunderbolt 4 dock was the only one that worked flawlessly with my M1Max MacBook Pro.
Highly recommended!

Dock won't wake from sleep, terrible support

I feel bad writing a 1-star review for this dock, because for most purposes it is working fine. Most of my peripherals and audio equipment connect through the dock seamlessly, however this dock will not wake my monitors properly.
For reference, I'm using a 2021 16" Macbook Pro M1 Max 32GB. I have two 27" LG 4k monitors connected via Thunderbolt 4 to HDMI cables, and they connect fine the first time. But once the laptop goes to sleep for any reason, I can only wake 1 monitor at a time. The other one will not connect for any reason until I have restarted my machine.
As a remote worker, this can be very frustrating. Often on my return to work I am unable to wake my primary monitor, and restarting my machine can be a serious disruption when I need to sign on to a meeting.
I have reached out to support, and at first they confirmed "we have seen this same issue occur on some devices." However, once I asked for an eta on a fix, they backtracked and pretended "[they] have not come across these issues on our end testing with multiple devices."
As I haven't seen any other reviews with my experience, I had to go 1 star so that other Mac users don't experience the same hassle as me.

A solid addition to the limited number of true Thunderbolt 4 docks out there. The only drawback that kept me from giving this 5 stars is that this dock lacks an HDMI port. For the asking price, it could use one.

I have 3 5k LG monitors my M1 chipped 2021 MacBook Pro needed to drive, plus a hardwired Ethernet connection but only 3 USB c thunderbolt ports on my laptop. This solution gave adequate data throughput for Ethernet, monitor, and peripherals without overheating and only occasionally screen flicker. Comes with 1 thunderbolt USB-c cable (40 Gb plus power throughput). Two other monitors hooked directly to laptop. Solved the problem for higher resolution monitor on separate ports, with one bridging monitor, Ethernet hardwire and peripherals on one. Pricey but ports designed for 4K monitors inadequate data speeds. Works right out of the box. Be careful not to kink cables!

This dock works flawlessly. It has a nice slim design and the right amount of ports. Most importantly, this dock does not make any whine or buzzing noise like many other thunderbolt docks. If you need something that will just work and get out of your way, this is it!

Works great with the M1 MacBook pro. I’m able to run my 34” monitor at the native resolution of 3440x1440 at 120Hz. One thunderbolt 4 cable (included) that connects and charges the MacBook.

Performance wise, this thing is ROCK solid with my 2021 Macbook Pro 16".
I can keep my magsafe charger in my bag, and when I dock at home for work a single cable supplies me with Power, 3 USB ports, and 3 TB4 ports.
Just realllllllly wished this had even a 1080p HDMI out though, I had to buy a USB-C to HDMI adapters, and it eats up a port.

Works great with 14 inch M1 Pro MBP. Drives a 4k and 2k external monitor without issue. Wakes monitors up from sleep perfectly. Wish it had a dedicated HDMI port but an HDMI to USB-C cable works as an alternative.

Random BSODs, disconnection of peripherals

USB keyboard and mouse randomly disconnect. I get random restarts or BSODs when using this dock. I tried 2 different laptops, and ran the Windows Reliability Report tool, and both laptops report occasional "LiveKernelEvent" Error 144 when using this dock, followed by "A problem with your hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly." Also, the dock feels warm to the touch, which should not happen, as it means electricity is being lost to heat instead of powering your laptop. I would avoid this product.

WHY would you put the host port (the cable that plugs into your laptop) on the FRONT of the device....
With the way most people use this, this thing will stay plugged in, I'm docking my computer and I don't want the cable visible on the FRONT?!

Currently have this hook up to my 14" MacBook Pro, and it's working like a champ. No issues with 2 monitors plugged in (HDMI and thunderbolt). Wish the computer connection was in the back. One of the cheaper thunderbolt 4 dock out there.

Works great with M1 Max Macbook pro! One cable for power, displays, and USB.
Note that the Thunderbolt connector is on the front side - this is clearly designed for use by laptop users.
