As I work from home, I wanted to test out another dock with my Dell Precision laptop as it only has Type-C ports, one of the being a TB4 port. I do have the one that I received with mine, however it's bulky and cumbersone and I just don't use all the ports on it so I wanted something that would take up significantly less space. This Dock is not very large at all. Roughly the dimensions of a 3"x5" card. It's not very thick at all, maybe half an inch. This is substantially smaller than my current dock. It has 3 TB4 ports on the rear of the Dock along with the port for the included Power Adapter. You can utilize 2 of these for 2 Monitors up to 4k60 or a single monitor at 8k30. I was able to test the 2 4k monitors as this is what I use at home and they worked no issue. There's a USB 3.2 Type A port on the opposite side along with the TB4 port that connects to the device. This is handy as most users have at least one device or accessory that still requires a Type-A port. My only qualm with the dock is the location of the port that connects to your device. I seems odd to have the port on the front of it. It would be better to have it located on the side so it is out of the way. It's rather unsightly and makes for a messier setup. That single qualm alone, I don't see any other issues with the dock. It does exactly what it supposed to while taking up a very small footprint meaning you can tuck it away out of sight. It does come with a proper Type-C cable that is capable of saturating the TB4 port's bandwidth as well as provind Power Delivery. Something a lot of companies will skimp out on. It was able to provide power to my Dell, but only minimal power and it needs at least 90W whereas the Dock is only 60W. If you're looking for a small dock and don't have tons of accessories and want something to match your Space Gray MacBook, this will be perfect.

This is a great and very handy hub from a well established company. I needed a high speed Thunderbolt hub for video transfers as well as RAW images. All in all, this Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub is a portable hub that is designed for Thunderbolt 4 laptops or PCs as well as any Thunderbolt 4 (or 3) Macs running MacOS 11 or later. Another huge plus is this hub can provide up to 60 W of charging to my notebook and my phones get charged extremely fast as well. I am also a sucker for a great design and this hub is definitely an attractive piece, it is slim, sleek and compact, and it looks like it is made out of good materials as well. As I mentioned the speeds of my video transfers, this hub has a bandwidth of up to 40 Gbps, which is amazingly fast, just make sure you have quality cables and a PC that supports Thunderbolt 4 (Thunderbolt 3 will work, but not recommended). Since this hub also features three Thunderbolt 4 downstream ports that support daisy chaining up to six Thunderbolt devices, which can be helpful in certain situations. Definitely recommend this hub for any serious videographer or a photographer, you won't be disappointed.

This thing is basically magic as far as I’m concerned. I’m not really using it as intended (with a desktop instead of a mobile docking station) but it’s still hard to overstate how useful this is. I use a Mac Studio and as much as I love it, the 4 thunderbolt ports get used up pretty quickly. This fixes that. I can drive two 5k Apple Studio Displays as well as an iPad Pro as a third monitor all off of one thunderbolt port - with absolutely zero issues. I didn’t even think that was possible. It’s also got a USB A port which is nice since the Mac only has two otherwise. Build quality is great. It feels very solid without being unnecessarily heavy. The (included) power cable/adapter is a good length for the average desk. It’s all packaged in a way that doesn’t feel skimpy but also doesn’t feel over the top and wasteful either, which is always nice. My only complaint is that I wish the included thunderbolt cable was a bit longer. That’s pretty minor all things considered. If you’re on the fence. I’d say go for it. It’s a nice piece of gear.

I am so happy with this hub! It is replacing a very shoddy HP Thunderbolt hub that is a giant pain in my rear. I work remote with 2 displays and need a good dock for my monitors as well as any peripherals (lan headset, scanner, etc). This thing handles everything I need it to. The other brand? Not so much. Out of the box, this thing is beautiful! It is elegantly designed and constructed. It is very sleek and slim and fits quite nicely on my desk. It is a plug and play device that only comes with a power cord. Once I got it hooked up, we tested her out. Everything worked seamlessly. The device can support 2 monitors, but you only get 8k with one. There are 4 total USB-C Thunderbolt jacks and 1 USB-A. The host jack on the front has 60W of power! I am so happy I got this device. It has really made a positive impact on my work environment. Now that I have a hub that works like it should, I should have no problems in the future. I highly recommend the Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub! Get one!

The march toward making all the things USB-C has pretty much finished at this point - I don’t know that I have a single computer or tablet in my life that doesn’t use it. The downside of USB-C is that many devices only have a few ports…that’s where getting a hub comes in. My personal home computer is a Mac Mini, which suffers from the port dilemma I just described. Thankfully, these are also Thunderbolt ports - which means you get all the speed and data bandwidth you could ever want, provided you get the appropriate hub. I have exactly zero complaints about this unit from Satechi. First, it’s small - it takes up almost no space on my desk (which is on the smaller side to begin with), and it blends right in with my Mac Mini. Everything I’ve plugged into the hub has worked exactly as expected - including my 4k monitor, multiple external hard drives, an SD card adapter, and even some device chargers. The monitor connected and had no issues (it behaved exactly as if I had plugged it into the HDMI port in the back of the computer), the hard drives copied large video files nearly instantaneously, the same story with transferring footage from my SD cards, and I was able to charge both my watch and phone through the hub when I took it on a short weekend trip and connected it to my tablet. I have no complaints. If you are looking for a way to expand your ports on your computer or tablet with Thunderbolt 4, I don’t know that you could do any better than this one.

    Small but Mighty Thunderbolt Hub

I’ve added this Thunderbolt hub to my workstation, which includes a desktop with two monitors (27” Dell and 27” Element), a Windows Surface tablet, and two cell phones (Android and iPhone). As I take my tablet with me out on the field as my main device for work, when I get back to my office I’m able to use the 60W from the Thunderbolt to charge the tablet and have all my devices conveniently connected to one hub. I’m able to charge my work and personal cell phone as it comes with three 15 W ports for charging and is compatible with multiple devices. Another perk is how easy and quick it is to transfer my files and data from my tablet to my desktop. The slim design makes it easy for it to fit anywhere, but is also built to be resistant to any potential drops or damages. Overall, it has been a great addition as it works well with my high speed devices. It also supports 2 dual 4k monitors which I have in my home office so if you're looking to multiply the amount of screens available this home gets the job done. This device is advertised more for the Apple Ecosystem but works well enough on my newer windows devices. Check your compatibility before clicking the purchase button on this one. Overall, this is a powerful small hub that keeps my devices connected and powered for a full day use.

The Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub comes in a very attractive slim form factor that any techie would love to add to his/her setup. It comes in a slate gray finish and is made of aircraft grade aluminum that gives it a quality look and feel. Speaking of the form factor it fits in the palm of my hand, just a little bit smaller than my iphone and it is so compact that I can pop it in my bag if I need it to travel with me. Let's talk about the ports. In the front of the Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub there is a Thunderbolt 4 host port as well a a USB-A 10GB port. Around back you will find three Thunderbolt 4 ports and the power supply port that has 60W total power. For me I am using it on my 2022 Macbook pro with and external 4K display and things run smoothly. My MacBook was able to recognize the Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub instantly. I also use the Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub on my gaming laptop which is an Alienware X-15 that only has one Thunderbolt port and USB-C port, to it I have hooked up an external monitor, my controller and my headset without a clutter of wires. Overall I enjoy the performance and the aesthetics of the Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub. I would recommend to anyone who is in need of a Thunderbolt/USB-C hub.

If you have a Mac or Windows PC that uses Thunderbolt enabled USB-C ports, then I highly recommend this exceptionally well manufactured Hub. The 40 Gps speed that the Thunderbolt standard allows is the fastest currently available speed. The first thing I noticed is the weight of the box. I was not expecting it to feel as hefty as it did! It is manufactured from aluminum, which explains the weight. The build quality is exceptional. It is the best manufactured Hub that I have ever used, hands down. The Hub is rated for 6 levels of daisy chain downstream, so this is the first thing I wanted to test. I have a lot of USB-A devices and 2 HDMI monitors to connect, so I need to use this with another Hub. The daisy chain capability worked as advertised and flawlessly. Within minutes my multi-display setup was up and running, with the added benefit of expanded Thunderbolt capability. I tested it with a USB-C to HDMI cable and was happy to find that it worked, passing on video and sound to my cable. Monitors have lagged somewhat in incorporating USB-C ports so this capability will prove to be useful. Included in the box, in addition to the Hub, is a 100W power adapter and a Thunderbolt cable. The Hub must be used with the provided power adapter and provides 60W of pass thru power to the connected PC. This was enough power for my Dell XPS-13 laptop. If you need the high speed capability that the Thunderbolt standard provides, then I highly recommend this beautifully designed Satechi Hub. In addition to its high speed and flawless operation, it is beautifully designed and looks great sitting in my workstation.

    Great Hub That Looks Great

Bottom line this bun does what it needs to do. Speeds are excellent and the ability to daisy chain multiple devices works very well. It comes with one Thunderbolt cable which gets you up and running. Setting up is nothing more than plugging it in. When connected to a display you don’t lose any picture quality. It also charges devices which is nice. Keeps in mind that it has a max of 60w for the Thunderbolt 4 cable and 15w for the USB C cables. My favorite thing about this hub is the looks. It’s very solid and well built. It fully made of metal. It goes very nicely with the design and build of Apple products. Keep in mind that it works with Thunderbolt 4 ports and USB 4 interface. This comparability runs for the past few years for Mac Mini, Mac Studio, iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini. For MacBooks and iMacs it will run about further back. Check the Satechi web site for the full list of compatible products. Also, for M1 or M2 Apple devices you can only do 1 monitor. You can do dual on M1 Pro and Max.

So the build quality on this hub / dock is great as is usually the case with Satechi products. I have another Satechi device and they definitely don't skimp on premium materials. So I see this as an absolute positive. In terms of versatility, this hub provides fairly industry-standard ports as one can see in the product overview - no need for me to go over that here. As for practical, everyday use, there are a couple issues I have. First off, the port that supplies the power to the connected computer (in my case an Apple Mac) is on the front of the Satechi. I'm not sure why this design decision was made as it makes for a not so clean and sleek look, depending on how you arrange the hub vs the location of your computer. I would have much preferred this port to be on the back. The other thing I'm not a big fan of is the size of the power supply. I guess the size of the box should've given it away that there was something big in there as the pictured size of the actual hub wouldn't account for the large size of the box. Anyway, I guess I understand that a big power supply is needed in order to provide the 60W but I wonder if the PS had been built into the hub how much larger it would have made it. So, if you're considering the portable nature of this hub, keep in mind that you will also need to lug around the power supply.
