Customers have good things to say about the Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub's elegant design, multiple Thunderbolt 4 ports enabling fast data transfer, and its ability to support high-resolution displays. Many appreciate its compact size and powerful performance, making it suitable for various setups. However, some users find the power supply to be large and inconvenient, impacting portability. The lack of additional ports, such as HDMI, is also a point of criticism for some customers.

A few tweaks would make this better. At this price point - you're getting close to the next competitor which offers SD card, 3mm audio, hdmi 2.1, dvi, mic in, optical out, and 100 watt charging. The weighty power brick doesn't make this hub very travel-friendly, the lack of LAN port doesn't help if you're looking for a stationary dock and want a wired connection for video conferencing.
I have a Macbook Pro and a Mac Studio and switch between them regularly. While this hub doesn't provide the single-cable solution that I would've liked for my MBP, I appreciate the boost in TB4 ports when daisy-chaining to my Studio.
The build quality of the hub is top notch and the weightiness ensures that it won't flop around like a cheap plastic dongle when connected to your computer. The USB-A port is a convenient touch too. I have a Thunderbolt display, but my 4K displays still require a USB-C to DVI/HDMI cable if I want to connect them and I still have to rely on converters/dongles for some peripherals, so this hub doesn't solve the 'one-cable rules them all' conundrum. If you only need TB4 and 1 USB-A port and don't mind the power brick, then this is a decent compromise, but if you're looking for a 1-cable solution for your desktop setup - then the pricier competitor is worth the investment.

This is probably one of the best, if not the best hub for laptops or USB C with Thunderbolt 4 systems. It is of great quality and speed for all ports. The only real challenge with this hub will be the capabilities of your system or the availability of USB C video adapters. There was no lag or delay from any of the ports. It was nice that it included the external power cable which really makes this hub standout. The quality is great and would make it an excellent match for high end systems despite what type of system or breed if you follow me. It would have been convenient to include a few of more USB A ports or maybe an included HDMI port but the points is push the limit on speed and connectivity with the latest daisy chaining of display screens or other Thunderbolt 4 type devices. If you have an 8k or multiple 4k screens then this is a great choice. This is a hub I would recommend if you are wanting to daisy chain your screens or have maximum throughput on your data devices that support higher transfer speeds.

WHAT YOU GET INSIDE
Be aware that to get the most out of this hub you will need to hook up the included power brick should you decide to use 2 screens to your mac through this hub. If you are using this as a portable solution for a laptop, then you aren't necessarily hooking up multiple monitors so bringing this hub with you is not an issue. Hooking up multiple monitors with this hub as a desktop replacement with your macbook pro creates no portability issue because of use case. I believe you will need an m3 or newer chip to support multiple external monitors and Big Sur or newer operating system. Can also be used in supported windows 11 machines contingent upon thunderbolt 4 port.
Box includes thunderbolt 4 cable (a bit over 2.5 feet) , the hub, and a power brick.
IMPRESSIONS
High quality construction in a space grey kind of look - total of 4 thunderbolt 4 ports though you lose one going from the hub to the macbook. Still net/net addition of 3 thunderbolt 4 ports and that really helps. One of those powers is power out (60w) in case you need to charge another device. There is also a usb 3.2 port.
My rating of 4 indicates this is not as slim as other hubs and the need for a power brick in certain applications so if portability in carrying with a laptop is not its forte; however, in desktop use, this is a fine product as long as you know you'll need the power brick depending on use.

In recent years, efficient high speed connectivity has become extremely important as auxiliary storage and display devices get faster and faster. The Satachi solves connectivity issues. This communications hub, the Satachi Thunderbolt slim 5 in one USB C meets all connectivity demands and enables computer connected devices to perform at their max speeds. The design takes advantage of being compact, very light, attractive finish, in short, unobtrusive! There are no sharp edges, spacing of slots is excellent. Is there a downside? In my humble opinion, it is the power brick. It is large and relatively heavy. One would think think that the care that went into designing such an outstanding hub, would have created an efficient power brick design, alas, Satachi apparently paid the power brick design little attention. Back to the hub, a joy to use. Data flows up and down appeared to be error free and smooth as silk. Using the hub to connect my state of the art display projector had always been a chore. With the Stachi, it became a breeze. I wanted to check 5 stars, but the power brick design bothered me too much, otherwise — this is a 5 star product.
