This is the second Steelbook released with the new G4 form factor (Switch sized case). Both the front and back have a great debossing as well as an excellent gloss finish.

Nice and colorful steel bookcase that comes with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as a promo. Inside is only one game card slot,would have been better if there were multiple slots but hey it was free.

I wasn't expecting much else in the way of Mario Kart 8 after the definitive Switch edition was released, which is why I was pleasantly surprised when this retailer-exclusive steelbook was announced. Nintendo consoles don't get many collectibles, especially steelbooks, especially for first party games, which is why this was so cool to pick up. I don't think there will be much else in the way of extra releases for Mario Kart 8, so this was a great send off and swan song for this particular release. The book itself is your basic steelbook case, but the design is really nice and striking and the build quality is quite good. I've seen others that are prone to denting and I don't think this will be the case given how narrow it is compared to a traditional bluray steelbook. If you haven't already picked up Mario Kart 8 this is a great incentive to getting in on this release.

This steelbook serves almost no purpose. I say "almost" because it CAN hold your tiny little game card, just like the box the game comes in. But who stores games in their boxes? If you're like me, you probably have multiple cards in a case so they're all together and easy to take on the go. Would've been cool if they could have made this so that it would hold multiple cards but they didn't. It's meant to be a collectible. It's currently listed at $60 but that's kind of a dummy price -- it comes free with the game, while supplies last this holiday season.

This is a great steelbook for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's got great artwork on the inside and wonderful artwork on the outside. This steelbook was given away for free when you bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so don't believe people who say the steelbook cost $60. It's a great steelbook included for free for buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is such a great game

I learned the hard way that this item has no game in it! I bought it, went home, and then realized, it's completely empty. It will ring up at the register as the actual game, but you will be disappointed if you didn't also add the regularly packaged game (which will render the steel case as FREE). Aside from that, it's a nice collector's item to have. There is nothing spectacular about it -- it's Mario and it's FREE with Mario Kart 8 game purchase. Can't really complain about that!

While I did get it for free and love the look of it, the major down side is that if your a collector, be massively careful with it because when I got it well it didnt come in any packaging just itself wrapped in plastic wrap and it can get small dents in it pretty easy. other then that its an awesome case that is a sweet extra. if you can get it then get it but its no where near as awesome as the game is

I purchased Mario Kart 8 with the Nintendo Switch and they where running a special where you got this tin free with purchase. I might have bought it anyways because it’s was more durable case than the plastic on that came with game. Also it’s really cool looking.

Let’s stsrt by stating that it doesn’t contain a game nor does it serve any extra purpose besides holding the game. It’s a nice detailed steel case to store your Mario Kart game instead of using the plastic case the game comes in. It was free with purchase.

I'm only giving this item 4 stars since you are required to pay $60 for this. Anyone that bought this game around launch was robbed of this promotion. I ended up buying MK8 Deluxe so I could get this and ended up giving the game away for Christmas since I've had it since it was released.

I saw this when I purchased the game. I know how kids can easily lose things, especially something this small. I knew this case would be perfect. A good size not to lose the game, easy to find with the bright red color and another item for them to chat about with their friends.

Picked this up along with My Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It feels awesome as a purchase bonus. It's way too expensive to buy one with $60. P.S. The case is identical in length, width and height compared to a regular Nintendo Switch game case.

This is a cool item to collect as a Mario Kart fan. Comes free with Mario Kart 8 for Switch (if you try to buy it separately, it's $59.99). This finally gave me incentive to buy Mario Kart 8 DX for Switch, even though I already have Mario Kart 8 for Wii U with all DLCs.

This was paired with my purchase of Mariokart8 for the Nintendo Switch, and it is one of the best steel books I've seen (there are about two dozen in my collection). It is quite simple which is why I find it to be such a novelty.

I bought Mario Kart for some family fun during the holidays. This case was a nice bonus and looks good. I won't be using it though, since I'm pretty sure it'll get dented as children aren't exactly careful with cases like this.

Really glad to see SteelBooks coming to Switch games as well. I'm a fan of the design of this one, it's clean and looks nice. Only complaint is that the name of the game isn't printed on the spine, but still great overall.

Bought the case because i want it for my collection. Looks well made with emboss Mario n trophy on front n star emblem on back. Eye catching too for its bright red color. Can't wait to put it up on display

The case appears to be a well made collectable tin case for the Mario kart 8 deluxe game card. Not sure how many were made but probably worth more than $0 in the future.

A great steel book for your collection. It’s enbossed on the outside and has some art on the inside. Definitely not worth the $60 retail price but as a free item for picking up Mario Kart it’s great!

I love Steelbooks , and this one is beautiful. Nintendo games hold their value very well, this makes this game even better as far as value. And it’s beautiful.
