Eventually "breaks the seal" when it's super hot, but you can re-seat it quickly and easily. From every one I've tried, this one stays in place longer and tighter than all the rest. I have it mounted to my dash, not my windshield. Bought a second one for my brother. He loves his too.

It sticks to any place you want to place in your car. I like that I can also use it when I place it on my bedroom table. Now my cellphone has its own stand. I would look if they have any for an ipad.

After several purchases of the types that you stick it into the vent or the CD slot, my experience is that they all eventually fall out or prevent air flow. I purchase this one. This one is perfect and allows you to charge a second phone with the USB port. Make sure that your lighter Port is accessible. I use this on a Ford Focus hatchback.
