It's very strong and sturdy.

My only question is how long it will last, my last one the mount lost its sticky after a few months, I am hoping this one lasts longer!

I installed the base plate to the dashboard as instructions provided, the glue on the base is good, but the unit won't stay on the base for long periods, makes it annoying having to constantly try to keep it in place.

The dash mount wouldn't stick well even with the included piece that "sticks" (with adhesive) to the dash. Every time I put my phone on it, the suction cup wouldn't be strong enough to hold it. I'm not too thrilled about the magnet either. Even with the metal plate glued to my phone case, the phone still slid around. I am returning this to the store today. I should note that the center of my dash where I installed it is non porous and I've had no issues with prior dash mounts sticking to it with suction cup only. I was using this to replace an old bracketron that the spring finally broke (after 2 years) that provided the tension to hold the phone in place. I've already bought the newer bracketron model to replace this junk.

Also the mounting to the dashboard must be prefect flat without any texture to the dash.
