This is the first time I bought a scuf controller. I've heard a lot about them, but the price and the fact that it uses potentiometer joy sticks, made me reluctant to buy one. Plus best buy didn't carry it. I like having a warranty to go with my controller. Well now I wish I got this sooner. A little background. I play a lot of apex and overwatch. I've got hours of gameplay but that doesn't make me good haha. Because of what I play I'm constantly having to replace my controllers. Stick drift is the biggest problem. Especially with Xbox elite controllers. I love and hate them. It's got a great button layout, paired with awesome software, but the joy sticks always get stick drift and if you drop it, even lightly, you can bet your bumper buttons will break. And good luck not getting stick drift out of the box. Only 1 out of 5 controllers I've gotten didn't have stick drift out of the box.. unfortunately I dropped that controller, and the joystick started crunching. I replaced it with another Xbox elite series 2 controller and right out the box I had stick drift. Instead of hunting down another one, I played like that way for a few months until it got really bad and hard to play with. Imagine never knowing where your reticle is going to go every time you touch it. To my surprise best buy now carries these controllers. And to make things better, it was on a sale! So I went and picked up a scuf controller. Unfortunately I got stuck with white, the black one was sold out. Sadly it won't match my PC , but its a small price to pay for a good controller. And man does it really blow the competition out of the water. Let's start with the good. It's comfortable, it feels premium not cheap. The mouse click triggers are highly responsive, and you don't need software to map the buttons. You can do it on the fly. You get 3 profiles. And you have both a 3.5 jack and a regular Xbox headset port on it. The d pad is excellent. No complaints. But the best is, no stick drift. The dead zone is so small on this controller for comparison, I had to set my elite controller to 8% to avoid drift in Apex. I can set this to 1% and have a negligible to no drift. Right out the box! Now here are the cons. The paddles are a little awkward. They are like bumps, and require a slightly harder press to use. I wish I could replace them with longer paddles. The xyab and shoulder buttons are standard. There's nothing special there. I think they should've been mouse click. To some, the fact that it uses batteries is bad, but I really don't have a problem with that. Just buy rechargeables. Also it doesn't come with a case, that's not a deal breaker. I really love this controller. I hope it lasts me a long time. A friend of mine has one for ps for a year and he's not had any trouble with it. And I believe it. If it helps you, know that Corsair is behind this product. Ps the way it's packaged really made my day. I think other companies need to take note on how to protect their product. It's a game changer. It's why I don't have stick drift right out the box. For that I'm thankful.

I don't want to make this review longer than it is but here is a Pros and Cons list with a more detailed take on certain features below that... Pros: - Premium Feel - Grip - Buttons and Triggers - No drift out of the box (looking at you Elite) - Magnetic Battery Compartment (nice touch) - Multiple on-board profiles you can change on the fly - Swappable Joysticks (you can buy an additional pack separately for more pairings) - Magnetic Faceplate (Can purchase different colors) Neutral: - Paddles (These paddles are DIFFERENT as they are built into the grip of the controller and NOT a conventional lever like the Elites and others out there. They are great for extra mappables in FPS games *Really any game*. However I use paddles in Rocket League but use a different controller as it is tough to use them for Boost and Air Roll/Drift. 2 of 4 paddles are easy to press while the "top" ones on each side don't feel natural to press but are fine as a reload or heal button. Leaving the bigger more accessible ones for say Jump and Slide/Crouch.) Cons: - 6 Foot USB-C Cable *10 foot would've been nice* (Most controllers *i.e. Elite* come with 10 foot cables for those who like to game wired on console or PC however it is still very usable on a PC but with a TV at a distance not so much) - PRICE ( I bought this knowing that it was going to be more than the Elite controllers and Razer controllers but having been through 4 Elite controllers in the past 5-6 years I was willing to spend more. This will come down to if you can justify spending almost the price of a Series S on a controller. However for die hard gamers who play every day multiple hours a day I feel like it is worth it.) - No carrying case - Not enough thumbsticks (Would have been nice to have 4 additional included instead of 2. Forcing you to buy the pack of stick SCUF sales separately. I feel including more would've helped offset the price and not including a case.) This is a very premium feeling controller to me. The buttons all feel way better than the stock XB controller and even the Elite controller (as they should at this price tag). I have had no input issues with any of the buttons or triggers. Which is nice being that I went through 2 Elite controllers prior to this purchase because of mis-presses on the face buttons (Not to mention 2 Geek Squad Warranty replacements on prior Elites for stick drift and another with a double/ triple pressing RB button). The controller does have some heft to it but it is welcomed as it feels more premium in the hands. the grip on the back of this controller is AMAZING. You never feel it slipping at all and if your hands heat up a little or even get sweaty (I am looking at you Warzone nerds in a building camping a Buy Station) it gets even more grip!

It’s the best of the options available

It’s the best controller that’s available. I’ve had x3 Elite 2’s and soon to be x4 Scuf Instinct Pros. The elite is a great controller, solid heavy feel, good materials, but breaks easily. I’ve had two problems of immediate and severe stick drift and then another arrived dead on arrival. So I got rid of my elite and bought my first Scuf instinct pro. I had it for a year, used the h*** out of it, then unfortunately broke one of the back paddles during a game. Thankfully I had Best Buy’s extended warranty which allowed me to swap for a new controller in store. I had swap out the new instinct pro after the same exact paddle in the same exact place snapped. So I swapped for another 6 months later. Currently on my 3rd Scuf Instinct Pro and about to return for a new one. I say all of that to say that the Scuf controller is the most durable out of the high end controllers I’ve used. Its thumb sticks are better (more grip), the paddles are better (easier to press, non removable) but thats honestly about it. I’ve heard nightmares about Scufs customer service (4+ week warranty service) so thankfully I haven’t had to use them. If I didn’t have the Best Buy pro warranty, my review would be a 2/5. Because of the pro warranty, the Scuf instinct pro gets a 4/5 for me.

Best controller on the market for Xbox with rear buttons. I went through about 10 Elite Series 2 controllers last year and every single one had issues with stick drift out of the box so I gave this a shot based on reviews. The back buttons are a little weird to get used to especially coming from the paddles on the Elite controllers but once you get used to them, they are really awesome and responsive. I've had it for 3 months so far and it's super solid. The texture on the front faceplate and rear grips is a nice rubbery texture that feels good in the hands and does not get slippery if you have sweaty hands. I have had zero issues with stick drift and the thumbsticks are comfortable on your thumbs. I do think it is overpriced at $230. I think this controller should definitely be priced more in the $150 range, but I'm happy with my purchase nonetheless. Definitely give this controller a shot if you are in the fence.

I loved the control as soon as it came out of the box. I’ve been gaming with it everyday since I got it and unfortunately within 3 weeks it started to get some stick drift. I’m not sure if it’s just mine or what but but sticks at drafting now. The buttons and tiggers feels great on it and the lower buttons are great. Just the sticks have started messing up. I’m going to return it and try another. Hopefully that one will be fine.

I play a lot of fortnite and I have been trying to find a good controller to do so with, and this controller without a doubt has been the best. I’ve tried the Xbox elite controller twice and it came with stick drift both times. My go to for the last 2 years has been the razer wokverine v2 and that was my favorite up until i bought this controller. The triggers are extremely sensitive which took time time to get used to, but once i got it down it has been an absolute joy to play with. 10/10 recommend

This is something that im jist hoping is not gonna be a normal thing but im having the issue of the right stuck is just always looking up. Besides that this is phenomenal . Hands down beats the elite 2 from bix .if you are looking for the best of the best this is it ! But if you on the fence about this. Dont be!it will be the best option for what youbare looking for. No lag and fast turn on oh also does not eat thru your batteries. So theres that atleast. Feels great in the hands and not gonna slip out when the lobbies are getting you sweaty.

Bought the Instinct Pro to use with my Series S. I have used both the Elite Series 1 and 2 controllers before and had issues with each. Yes the Scuf is more expensive but it feels like a quality controller as soon as you open its box. It feels great in the hand and I really like it’s back buttons better than the paddles on the Series controllers. It is incredibly easy to setup a custom profile. Some may complain that it still uses AA batteries instead of having a rechargeable lithium ion battery but I personally don’t mind. I have been using Eneloop rechargeable batteries for a while and they last for years. Eventually they lithium ion battery will no longer hold a charge and you will have to buy another controller. I’d rather just buy more batteries myself. It is pricy but worth it if you want a wireless Pro controller for the Xbox.

so far so good. Definitely feel like the mouse click triggers are better than the short ones on the elite. Only time will tell on durability. Would definitely buy another. Only negative is trying to cancel out a button seems like a daunting task. I dont think they have an option to cancel the stick press, on the elite its much easier to change button layout. Scuf also much lighter in hand than the elite.

SCUF/Corsair does NOT appreciate your business, and will NOT work with you regarding warranty claims. Please, just read my book below. I hope that other's may see this review and make the decision that I wish I had. This controller was used for 1 month, through regular use and was not dropped 1 time. Granted I have been known to play games like a spaz and squeeze harder than most, but for a $230 this was so far below my expectations it's hard for me to comprehend. I want to preface by saying I have been through a few elite and elite core controller's due to bumpers/controllers wearing out over a few months, so I was recommended this controller as a more durable replacement. Granted, I do feel like Microsoft has been accommodating when it comes to warranties. I have always gotten 1 controller free of charge when submitting warranty claims. I'm ok with that considering the price point I guess, but now I really am. I only use the back right paddle (rocket league) and within a month it snapped from where it was locked in place. That is the only thing wrong currently, just a physical back button. I sent it in for warranty, they didn't get back to me until a week after the day it was delivered, and then sent me a $100 invoice to fix this. There is no working number I've found, their website regading warranty is horrible and hard to follow, and customer service has spent no time even attempting to work with me other than sending me a bill for for half the price of the overpriced controller to fix it. I wish I had trusted reddit when I saw people talk about the problems with durability and their customer service AFTER issues arise. I will not purchase another corsair or scuf product, which I wish actually meant something.

One Word: AWESOME! I bought the elite 2 for the first time but I had to return/exchange it twice, and then I decided to just exchange it to the scuf. Speechless! The quality, its so comfortable to use. I should've bought this controller the first place. I just wish thay it comes with the charging station and the case just like the elite 2 does. But its not a complain. Merely a suggestion. Overall. I will never downgrade on any kind of controller ever!
