Customers have good things to say about the controller's build quality, adjustable triggers, helpful paddles, and comfortable grip. Many appreciate its lightweight design and ease of use, along with the extensive customization options. However, some customers reported issues with stick drift and battery life, while others found the back buttons to be less than ideal and the warranty period too short. The price point was also a factor in some negative feedback.

Great controller, been on my grind and it has held up very nicely. Paddles feel smooth and the customization of the cover and thumbs sticks is a nice touch. Grip on back is a great feature.

Its definitely the best...and I say THE BEST! when it comes to trigger locks! when your playing a shooter there is no play in the LT or RT AT ALL! its AMAZING in that part of this controller. The grips are the nicest of all my controllers I have...( and i have alot as you can see ) when it comes to comfort and not getting slippery after awhile like my elite 2 gets.
ALSO! I was confused at this till i bought it... The controller comes with 2 sticks that are embeds that are the same height. I thought one was shorter one was taller...NO! So dont worry about buying that thumbstick pack thats in my pics ( unless you want more & or different colors ) when it comes the using Kontrolfreeks. Kontrolfreeks will 100% work with this controller right out the box.
Now its very pricey...BUT! If you love gaming alot...then its *PRICELESS*
kinda sucks its not built-in wireless, but nothing a xbox rechargeable kit cant fix.
the 4 buttons on the back are very good, but im still getting used to the top 2. After having the elite Series 2 for along time in my hands with the scuf buttons on back ( not the original ones that come with the elite ) its kinda weird feeling atm...but the bottom 2 right now is like ( OMG! this is amazing )
Also love how you can take the front cover off and get different color/design plates on this controller.
All im gonna say is. if you see this post GET IT! I was tempting myself then holding back for about 2 hours then finally went and got it & im glad i did ( for how much i game casually & competitively ) this controller beats them all hands down!

All around a great controller i dont think its worth $230 but its still a very solid controller i love the intant trigger setting to give me the edge over pc players on mouse and keyboard. Theres alot of customization you can do with the extra buttons and the grip on the back of the controller is very nice. It also comes with a set of extra thumbsticks you can interchange, and its super easy to pop the faceplate off to change them as well! If you have the money to invest on a nice controller id recommend this controller for sure. And it works on all platforms.

Got this since I have been eyeing a Scuf controller for a few years now. I am not a pro gamer by any means but do like to win anytime I play and FPS like COD are my go to when I have anytime to game on my XBOX. My Gen 1 Microsoft Elite controller has started to suffer from drifting issues now for the last few months so it was time to update my controller.
I love the look and feel of the controller, it fits great in my hands and the rubberized grips make the controller stay very comfortably in your hands. The abiltiy to pop the magentic faceplate off with ease to swap out the sticks is also a nice feature. I also like that you can purchase additional faceplates to customize it even more. I do like the rear button layout better than the paddle setup my Elite controller had but found myself struggling to use them very effectively in FPS. The default layout for Forza Horizon 5 also wasn't a lot of help but that is where the cusomization comes in.
It is nice that you can remap the rear buttons or disable them entirely by mapping them to the Share button. The triggers on this one are the instant button as this is the Pro version and that has taken me quite a bit to get use to. I am still not sure that I like it, I wish it would allow a small amount of pull to engage vs. the split second click but I guess that is why Pro's would want that.
Pros:
- Comfortable for long gaming sessions
- Customizable rear buttons can be easily remapped
- Face plate is easy to pop up for custom ones or to swap out the thumbsticks
- Great quality sound without any lag when headphones are plugged in
Cons:
- For me the triggers with the instant click actually caused me to do worse in COD
- It only came with one of the longer additional thumbsticks so I have a shorter one for my left thumb and the longer one for my right thumb during FPS gaming sessions
- No carrying case or set of two longer thumb stick
- Have to spend extra if you want the additional thumb sticks or official case
Overall these are high quality controllers, if you game for hours at a time or are very competetitive even if not gaming for a living this controller can deliver an edge once you get used to it. Just be aware that you don't get some of the extra accessories that you get with other high end pro controllers.

Love it and have the past 2 years. I game 8-10 hours a day and has yet to fail me. Love the feel, comfort/non-slip don't make my hands sweaty kind of controller. Mostly play pubg (works well) and other 1st person shooter games. Would recommend.

The Gold Standard of Gaming Controllers

I've been using this SCUF Instinct Pro controller over the course of the last week to play first person shooters and third person action/adventure/RPG titles on PC. This has become the new gold standard for me. SCUF has been in the controller game for a long time. Longer than almost any third party controller manufacturer that I can think of and it certainly shows with this new Instinct Pro. So many thoughtful design and feature considerations. Also, because of the native Xbox integrations in Microsoft Windows (like Xbox game bar), this controller pairs perfectly with PC and has run without a hitch throughout my time using it.
For starters, the construction and build quality of the controller is extremely high quality. The front faceplate is a very silky and soft matted surface that makes it incredibly comfortable to hold. The rear of the controller handles are covered in a soft rubber texturized finish making it very easy to grip. All of the buttons, triggers, paddles, and thumbticks feel very solid with crisp feedback. I also love the new re-designed paddles on this new instinct pro. They are leagues better than the somewhat obtrusive paddles on the older SCUF controllers. These feel a lot more ergonomic and natural to interact with. There isn't a single component on this controller that feels cheap. I also love the magnetized battery door on the rear of the controller. It's small details like this that make it apparent how much planning and thought went into the design of this product.
There's a great deal of customizability with this SCUF instinct pro; not just from a button mapping/profile perspective, but also from a hardware perspective. The front faceplate of the controller is removeable which allows you to swap out the stock faceplate with a plethora of different colored and themed faceplate kits that you can purchase on the SCUF gaming website. You can also swap out the stock thumbsticks with thumbsticks of different shapes and sizes, as well as swap between a hybrid and standard D-pad. Corsair does throw in a pair of extra thumbsticks in the box (one short domed and one long domed) if you're not a fan of the stock concave thumbsticks (which I personally love!). The included 6 ft USB-A to USB type-C feels very high quality with its braided nylon construction and carbon fiber-like tips. If using this wired, 6ft may not be enough but because it's USB type-C (and not some proprietary cable), it's very easy to source a longer a cable.
In terms of performance, this controller is flawless. I've always used an Xbox controller for PC gaming as the design and shape has always felt the most comfortable and ergonomic in my hands. In terms of design, the shape and dimensions feel the same as a standard Xbox controller. The sames goes for the weight, the buttons, the d-pad, and the thumbsticks. Connecting this to my PC over bluetooth was incredibly easy. I simply held down the pairing button found right above the Xbox logo and my PC instantly detected the controller. Windows then displayed a prompt asking me if I wanted to connect. I was then launching games and the controller was immediately functional with no hiccups.
The controller has three on-board profiles that it allows you to configure. You simply hold down the profile button on the back of the controller until the LED, by the mute mic button, starts blinking. You then simply hold down a paddle and press whatever button you want to map it to. You will see a small white light appear indicating that you've successfully mapped a button. When you're done mapping your paddles, you simply press the profile button again to save your configuration to that profile. I absolutely love how you're able to program buttons on the fly with no software needed. I did this in game multiple times and I can't tell you how great it feels to not have to use an application to do this. The instant trigger feature on this controller is an interesting one but I feel that this play style will come down to preference. You basically toggle little metal levers in the back of the controller (one for each trigger button) and it makes it so that it feels like it "locks" the trigger in place. This makes it so that you can actuate the trigger without having to bottom it out allowing for a faster shot. In real world application, at least for me, I couldn't tell if it actually resulted in quicker shots for me in FPS games. My game performance was the same whether I used the instant trigger feature or not. As mentioned previously, I think this is more of a preference feature. Throughout all the games I played whether it be on steam, battlenet, GOG Galaxy, Origin, etc., the controller was immediately detected. In-game, not once was there ever a disconnection over bluetooth or any type of thumbstick drift. The range was also impressive. I tested playing from 25 feet away from my PC with no connection issues.
Overall, Corsair and SCUF has produced the best controller to date in my opinion. For those looking for the most premium build quality and features in an Xbox controller, which also happens to integrate perfectly with Windows, I highly suggest you give this one a try.

I have had every elit controller and the new turtl beach lcd screen controller, and the scuff instinct pro controller is the best controller i have used. My favorite part of the controller is the integrated buttons on the back. I like how there built in and not the wing style buttons that the elit controller uses. Also with customizable faceplates and buttons your controller never feels old.
An interesting alternative to the Elite controller

It’s a good controller, just a bit difficult to get used to. Once you do, its possibilities seem a bit more endless than comparable controllers like the Elite.
To my fat fingered gamers: be wary, the paddles are a bit funky. For some reason, they decided for an inward/outward paddle set up, which can lead to some accidental clicks. It’s definitely toned down quite a bit as I’ve gotten used to using the controller, but it happens occasionally still and it can be extremely frustrating to accidentally hit a button that’s tied to an input that can throw an entire game (for those who play comp or FPS like me, such as Apex). Just be cautious if you do choose to bind these paddles to an important function.
My last complaint: longevity. I bought this controller and within 2-3 weeks of gaming the right stick had MASSIVE stick drift. After messing with the dead zone settings, removing the faceplate to clean/airdust, and even switching out the analog sticks, it was deemed a controller issue and I had to have it returned/replaced. So take my advice: IF YOU END UP LIKING THE CONTROLLER, BUY THE WARRANTY AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE.
I personally am going to stick with the Instinct Pro for the time being because of its usefulness as a paddled controller. It’s lighter and more comfortable than the Elite, but it does not appear to be as durable. Unless it becomes more of a hassle to own than it already has been, I’ll stick with it.
This review is NOT meant to come off as negative, but pre-cautionary. I do thoroughly enjoy the controller, it just has its flaws…

Good controller, mouse click triggers feel nice. Worst part is that it doesnt have a built in rechargeable battery. Kind of overpriced, elite series 2 is overall better.

Feels just like a regular Xbox controller in hand with a bit more weight, but not nearly as much as the series 2 controller. Paddle placement is amazing, and it's the only controller paddles I was able to get used to. Very responsive, and profiles being on controller (avoiding software to make small changes) is a big bonus. Unfortunately, this was my second one as this controller is not immune to stick drift. That said, I'm still buying the same one as all alternatives I've tried haven't felt the same, so it's worth the headache.

I have been using the Microsoft Elite Series 2 for a little over a year. It's an excellent controller and I definitely recommend it. I mention it because that's what made me hesitant to try the Scuf Instinct Pro.
Some things I prefer on the Scuf:
1. Precise, smooth analog sticks.
2. fantastic grip for your palms.
3. Fantastic triggers.
4. Trigger stops turns the impulse triggers in to mouse click, mechanical triggers.
I have some nitpicks.
1. To change out the sticks, you have to take the magnetic faceplate off and pull the sticks off the mechanism. Compared to the Elite's magnetic solution, it's just not as intuitive.
2. While buttons can be remapped to the back buttons on the fly, it's not as intuitive as the Elite's software solution built in to the Xbox.
I think based on a pure money/value comparison, I would point people toward the Elite Series 2. The software customization is too good and it's a very nice controller.
That being said, I keep finding myself picking up the Scuf controller for my play sessions now.

This controller is very responsive & it feels great, I’ve been using it for months now & it’s been nothing but smooth, best controller I’ve owned so far!

The Scuf Instinct Pro happens to be the first controller from the brand that I picked up, I've been a fan of the Elite Series controllers from Microsoft, however mine has worn significantly and doesn't always register bumper inputs. Scuf has been a name that has been around for some time and was curious to try their controller out.
The Scuf Instinct Pro has four rear paddles that are remappable, it took me a moment to adjust my grip to not accidently press them, however with a slight adjustment they are designed in a place that I prefer over others I have tried. There is also three profiles you can configure which can be useful if the controller is shared, however I find it useful if the button layout is different in games to easily crouch, melee, jump or reload without ever having to take your thumbs off of the sticks to continue to aim or move. The thumb sticks are also interchangeable, you have the concaved top, or a rounded top depending on your preference. The faceplate and D-Pad hold on magnetically in key points that they feel sturdy. There is other faceplates and friction rings to change the look of your controller I also think this is great if you needed to clean your controller by chance, the buttons are fairly exposed without having to tear the controller down.
The white controller I got has gray accents with white and gray buttons, all of the others have black buttons with matching anti fraction rings, outside of the steel gray. The Instinct Pro comes with a USB-C cable to plug in for wired connection, however there is a battery compartment for wireless use, designed for Xbox it does work wirelessly with their consoles. There is a dedicated mute button on the controller right above the headset ports, which offers both the 3.5mm jack or the various headset adapters.
Overall the Instinct Pro gives the feel of the Standard Xbox Controller, with a little extra weight and added features. The triggers do have a couple settings you have your traditional pull, with the flip of a switch, their "Instant Triggers" which is an immediate click which they describer as a "short mouse-click action" which I agree with.
I am really curious to see how this controller lasts over time, build quality feels solid, their is a nice texturized grip with added comfort, my palms don't get too clammy when using the controller in long sessions, and although it's a different material from the rest of the controller in blends in well with no lifted edges on the grip, it blends in well. Other than adjusting my grip slightly for the rear paddles, the only thing that I had to adjust to was the switches to activate the instant trigger, they stick up a little and have a little point to them. If you by chance need to change the pull quickly on the triger you can easily find them, but it took me a moment to adjust to.
Outsite of those couple little quirks that I notice, this is a great controller. If you're a fan of the Official Xbox Controller, this will have a natural feel, but with a couple added feature that take it one step further if you are looking for a Pro Controller. Interchangeable sticks and plates, it will be great for anyone to customize the look or the feel for those looking to get a little creative.

Great controller but got stick drift after a using it a little under a year, would definitely get a warranty on the device. Very confortable to hold for long periods of time and the customization is cool.

Probably one of the best controllers. I just don’t like the fact it takes regular batteries for $200+. Functions great but not being able to recharge for that price is a deal breaker for me. Now buttons don’t get jammed. And that’s something I haven’t found in any controller. If this controller was chargeable I’d rank it 1

Its a solid controller with a good weight and feel. It has some cool features but overall its really overpriced and after using it prefer the elite 2 xbox which is cheaper and comes with a case and inter changeable features. This only gives u a battery, cheap plastic sticks and a cord. I used a gift card to get it other wise i wouldnt have gotten it
. I do like the interchangeable face plates that is cool

I prefer the feel of this controller over the Elite Series 2. However, the back buttons take some getting used to. Some may prefer paddles but the buttons on this controller work extremely well and are comfortable once you get used to them. The instant trigger feel nice but aren’t game changing unless you plan to repeatedly click them.

It’s a comfortable, overall good controller. Extreme lack of customization for the controller compared to the PlayStation version which seems poorly planned on the companies side. The left and right sticks have an extremely sharp jump in response from the delay (and again, there’s no way to customize this).
This means if you’re looking for this controller for fast-paced fps games, be mindful that the delay can be jarring and increase difficulty with micro movements.
The price is a little high especially considering the points listed earlier. Overall, I give it 3 stars, good, clean looking, comfortable controller; but they clearly did the bare minimum here.

Great Performance, Uncomfortable Paddles

The SCUF controller is very responsive and performs well in-game. The build quality feels solid, and the buttons are quick and precise.
However, compared to the Xbox Elite controller and other similar models, the paddle design is a drawback. Instead of being elevated, the paddles sit inside the controller, making them less comfortable to press—especially for someone with decent-sized hands. The positioning requires more effort to activate, which can be frustrating during extended gameplay.
Overall, it’s a great controller, but the paddle design could be improved for better ergonomics.
