I could feel that the joysticks are too sensitive and you can't control the sensitivity even by moving it in the game, it feels like it's made of very cheap materials, I don't recommend it. I did a software update and after completing the control it didn't turn on anymore.

The first thing that comes to my mind when thinking SCUF is not "reasonably priced" but the Valor Pro is an extremely expensive Xbox controller for a very good price. I've been using this controller for about a week now and it's become my favorite Xbox controller. SCUF are advertising that it's going to become even better soon with a pending update to 1000hz polling on PC. #Unboxing and first impressions# The SCUF packaging is pretty no-nonsense and the Valor Pro doesn't come with many value-add accessories other than 2 extra sticks and paddle covers. No carrying case or extra weights or anything like that. I think the Valor Pro controller feels perfect in hand, with a nice texture and excellent resistance on the sticks. The larger shoulder buttons that wrap around the top of the frame are a nice addition as well. All of the buttons feel nice, but not as solidly clicky as some other premium controllers I've used - this is also a benefit as the Valor Pro isn't terribly loud either. The ability to switch from analog to digital on the triggers is great as well. Finally, the volume adjustment for headset on the bottom of the controller is AWESOME. The only real negative for me is that the Valor Pro only comes with 10ft cable and not 12 or 15 ft. While 10ft is technically long enough for my gaming space, a few more feet would make it long enough to have some slack and stay out of the middle of the floor. On PC, 10 feet is already maybe too long, so pick your poison there. #Using the Valor Pro# When it comes to actually using the controller, everything about the Valor Pro delivers on its promises. The sticks are fantastic, with perfect resistance and the zero-drift nature of hall effect gimbals making aim and camera movement smooth and accurate. As mentioned above, the buttons all have a good feel but not as audibly clicky as other game pads I've used. They just work without impacting the experience postively or negatively IMO. I really like the triggers and shoulder buttons - both in clicky and analog mode, the triggers feel very impressive vs other Xbox controllers, and the shoulder buttons being extended along the top edge DO make it easier to grab them as the packaging says. One of the specific call-outs from SCUF on the Valor Pro is for the volume adjustments for chat and game audio on the bottom of the controller - and these do work very well. I also found that using a headset through the Valor Pro had noticeably less noise than a few other controllers I've tried. While the SNR for the DAC isn't something marketed that I could find, SCUF have done a great job there. The headset I use is a Philips SHP9500 + Vmoda boom pro and it sounded fine through the Valor Pro. #Final thoughts# If the only improvement you can think of for a controller is the cable is perhaps 2 feet too short - that's an easily solvable problem (and I did that first thing with a USB3 extension cable...). The Valor Pro is nearly perfect without needing an astronomical price tag. Now I just need to get another one to be able to have one ready to go at my Xbox and at my PC.

It is comfortable and extremely responsive

So, a wired game pad has a better response time. If you’re old like me, it gets harder and harder to notice exactly how much better the response time is as wireless closes that gap each year. Honestly for myself I’m not sure that I would choose wired just for the responsiveness. My kid on the other hand with zero prompt (also the first time he has ever used a wired controller) said that it was faster, and he liked it better. When I asked how much faster he just said a little bit faster. Take that with what you will. When I asked if there was anything else he liked about it he said all the same things that my first impression was too. It’s more comfortable, more grip and just felt better. So, I know that it isn’t just me and wanting to like it better, I made him use one that wasn’t his special colorful one and now that’s the controller he likes to use. Now to some advantages that I didn’t really think about when I got wireless controllers. If I want to steal on for my computer (I like racing with a controller more than a keyboard) the wireless controller is annoying to pair to my computer and then later repair with the Xbox. The wired controller is pretty simple, it’s literally plug and play. The cable is thick and braided and disconnects. Which means you could lose it, but it also means you can swap it out for a USB C to USB C if you have one of those laptops with only USB C ports. OR when it inevitably gets destroyed you can just grab a new one from the closet (or order one) and your back in business. I also love that batteries aren’t a thing with wired controllers. It’s a small convenience but it took getting a wired controller to have that Eureka moment (most likely due to the fact that the other controller when we played multiplayer immediately informed me it was in need of new batteries). Overall, I like the design, it has dimpled and rounded control sticks to choose from and a few other customizations, it works great the first time you plug it in, and you can choose how customized of an experience you want from there. For me it is perfect, I can switch between the computer and Xbox without an issue, and it just feels better than my old controller.

    Nice controller with caveats

The SCUF Valor Pro is a good feeling controller. No slipping grip. It's slightly smaller than some other controllers, but not by much. Nice for those with smaller hands. This thing is CRAZY responsive due to the hall effect. Be prepared to mess with your in game settings and take time to get used to the new controller. Some (Like me) may notice that everything moves faster with your current settings. It acts like movement settings got set to high. One thing people may not like is it is wired. However, this is a premium controller, without any discernable lag that sometimes happens with wireless controllers. The connection cord is plenty long as well. Another great feature is swappable thumb sticks. While it felt weird to try the longer one, it's recommended for sniping. Took some getting used to, but my shot percentage when using sniper weapons in game has gone up. Yours may vary, but it's helped me. Especially in Halo games. COD was a marginal increase. Fully programmable back paddles. No more weird grips to use all your fingers. Paddles are responsive with good feedback and positive actuation. Use any or all of hem. Definitely a benefit. Caveats: A cool feature is swappable faceplates to customize your controller to your liking. However, Not showing available at this time (3/5/25) on the SCUF gaming website. An oversite and detractor in my opinion to not have at least a few available now. Trigger controls have only 2 settings. Full pull and mouse-click. The addition of a medium setting would have been ideal. The trigger pull at full set is long, which can cause delays. Short pull (Mouse-click) I've found to not be as responsive, especially for repeated shots. I cant say if it's by design or if it's a flaw. My buddy noticed it as well when he tried out the controller. Last is the swappable thumb sticks. The first time I tried swapping, there was a slight grind against the faceplate in 2 directions, felt like rubbing sandpaper. Aiming wasn't consistent and was all over the place. When I swapped back tot he short stick, same issue. How this was solved, be sure the thumbstick is on correctly, and press down until it clicks. Then press down more to completely set it. It may feel like it seated the first time, but if there's any rubbing, it's not. It's also not clear in the instructions. Final thoughts: Is it pricey? For a wired controller Yes. For a premium controller with awesome gameplay No. Is it worth it? Yes! 4.5 stars (Even though ratings are in whole numbers, I feel this is accurate) for the caveats I mentioned, but I'd still recommend it.

reduce button lag increase comfort, gamers friend

This controller has a really nice feel and sits comfortably in your hands. My hands are not super human sized and average sized, this controller is a nice fit to them as the controller feel is a bit smaller than the actual xBox controllers. This controller has a well-developed design from a look and feel to the way the grips are designed, the paddles, trigger settings, audio control features, thumb sticks. The grips on the controller have a rubberized texture to limit and prevent controller slip while gaming. While the main faceplate has a flat and silky touch to it. The Directional Pad (D-Pad) enables a nice smooth transition in thumb rolls and glide of your thumb during gameplay. As an added note, the limited movement on the D-Pad allows for instant directional input that is especially noticed during fighting gameplay. The triggers offer two modes, Standard and Short, easily switched between via a switch for each trigger on the rear of the controller. This reduces the movement between presses of the triggers, especially useful in first-person shooters and other games that need instant reaction timing. The Y/B/A/X button membrane backing, allows for less travel time and quieter presses. On the rear of the controller, there are 4 programmable paddles, each being tactile and responsive. The hall effect joysticks utilize magnets for smoother operation while increasing longevity. The built-in audio controls are a nice touch without having to remove a hand from the gamepad for audio changes, instant reach and operation at ease using your thumbs. Overall, this wired controller is a great upgrade to have for those serious gamers out there looking to reduce overall controller button lag due to travel time and comfort during use.

SCUF ditched the four paddles in favor of well-placed buttons two under your fingers and two above, so essentially just rocking your finger back or forward can actuate either of the buttons. For speed of access that's perfect. The drawback there is you have to get used to the placement for a bit, you will likely, like I did, spend the first few hours accidentally pushing them when you don't want to, especially if you take one hand off the controller to do something, since they are placed around where you would naturally want to place your fingers when holding the controller. Makes them easy to find, but also easy to press. The switches used for them are very light as well. I would personally prefer a little stiffer throw for back paddles than this. The joysticks are Hall-Effect sticks, so no drift here, they are tuned well and don't really feel any different to traditional sticks. Solid work so far. The D-Pad is a little small though, so fighting game fans will likely skip this one. It's a good d-pad, I like the feel, and hadokens etc probably wouldn't be a n issue.to consistently pull off, but I know fighting game enthusiasts are rather particular. So I think the smaller size would throw some people off. The additional controls for audio are a nice tough, if a little unnecessary. My audio controls are right on my headset, and while having them on a controller would make it easier to adjust mid match, I don't think I have ever even bothered adjusting my headset volume mid match or felt the need to, that's lobby work. The faceplate also is removable for swapping out designs. It only comes with the one plate, but If the controller holds up, being able to reskin it without stickers is cool. Overall I think it's a solid wired option, definitely catering to the FPS crowd.

    Best Scuf in Years

I started using Scuf controllers back on Black Ops 2 and was a big fan despite a couple paddle breaks. I continued to use Scuf until the Vantage came out which felt inferior in all respects - quality, design, aesthetic, etc. Since then I've been using the Xbox Elite and Elite V2 controllers. I had heard Scuf stepped up their quality recently, so figured I would take a chance on the Valor Pro and I'm not disappointed. Controller feels great, fairly lightweight I would guess in-part because of mandatory wired mode. I like that you get the use of 4 paddles but the refined design of the paddles allows you to access all 4 with just 2 fingers. Sticks, hair triggers, and extended bumpers all feel great. I use a Control Freek on the right stick. Volume knobs seem unnecessary but I guess they do no harm. Excited to have a reason to use Scuf again, time will tell if the build quality holds up.

    Great Choice For Avid Gamers

I have had previous experience with Corsair products and they have always been good. This SCUF - Valor Pro Wired Performance Controller is no exception. Build quality is top notch. And the tactile feedback from the control sticks and buttons are great. The thumbsticks utilize Hall effect (magnetis sensors) to reduce drift and deliver more accuracy. The wired connection also polls at 1000 hertz (1000 times per second) giving the gamer more accurate feedback time. So my experience, as a 54-year-old gamer with 54-year-old reflexes and 54-year-old eyes, I can't notice the differnce, but I certainly appreciate the great quality and feel. Having said that, my son is 23-year-old son is not only an avid gamer, but he is also a U.S. Navy Nuclear Engineer with 23-year-old reflexes and 23-year-old eyes, and he says that there is a noticable difference. I will take him at his word and say that yes, a wired controller may be superior to some gamers. End of the day, this is an excellent choice, especially for the avid gamers. I would reccomend this

I have been a gamer for the better part of my life and used many variations of controllers from the original 3 button Sega Genesis controller to the original XBOX Duke controller to the latest SCUF and XBOX Elite 2 controllers. I was a big fan of the last SCUF Instinct Pro controller I had and it was my go to until I got my Elite 2. I had expected this one to regain the throne as my number 1 gaming controller but sadly is has not. Pros - Hall- Effect thumbsticks - Mouse click triggers - Rubber gripped texture - Great D-Pad - Wired for almost zero input lag - Customizable audio controls on the controller - Easy to program the 4 rear paddles/buttons - Swappable face plates and swappable thumbsticks Cons - Buttons feel mushy and not as crisp as my Elite 2 - Wired so you have to either be within 10 ft of your console or have a USB extension cable like I did - Joysticks feel less responsive and sluggish compared to my Elite 2 or previous SCUF Instinct Pro controller - Swapping out the thumbsticks took more force than I expected or feel comfortable using Overall the presentation of the controller is great and the packaging was great but when it came down to execution and winning games in COD it just didn't perform as well as my other SCUF or XBOX Elite 2. For this price I would highly recommend the XBOX Elite 2 over this one or for a bit more the Instinct Pro.

I have about fifteen or so controllers in my game room, which also doubles as my office. I have controllers for PC, Xbox, PS5, and so on and so forth and so I think it's safe to say I have a lot of experience with controllers, of all sorts, from all different types of systems. As a primary PC gamer, I respect the fact that wired is simply better. It's easier, no changing of batteries, more reliable, no lag, and ultimately since you are closer to your desk on a PC then it just makes sense. An Xbox is sort of different for many, but not all, and so some folks no doubt want, and desire, a controller like Scuf is providing to us in the form of Valor Pro and so here we are. I have owned a lot of controllers but never SCUF. I do own a lot of Corsair products and respect, and really love, their ideas, and the quality that they put into everything that they put out into the market. This joystick is no exception. There is no doubt this is a premium product, but not in a flashy way, just in a subtle, but very effective, presentation of quality hardware. The controller has a very, very good feel in hand and functions effectively just like your typical Xbox Elite controller. The control that it gives you in games is excellent and overall I'm quite happy with this controller. This is a controller for someone who knows they want to go wireless, wants a top quality product that is going to provide you hours and hours of entertainment. It doesn't have any gimmick really, or anything flashy RGB or OLED screen-wise, but it does offer you a great controller that will most likely be your main controller for a long, long time. I will still use my Xbox Elite 2 controller as my primary controller, but this will get plenty of use and, if needed, be available to be my main controller at some point in the near future. It also works great on both PC and Xbox so that is nice to know if you game on both systems. A really great product from SCUF.

When you think of gaming accessories controllers are usually on the last of the list. Well the Corsair Scuf Valor Pro Wired Xbox Controller should be the first thing you think about. Pros: Hall Effect Sticks Solid Built Comfort Responsive Audio Control Dials Cons: None To test this controller I hooked it up to the Xboxto test it out for some long COD and Competitive FPS games. My hands didn’t become sweaty in the 6 hours testing and the texture kept my fingers locked in. I found through playing the contoured bumper with the triggers felt so much more reactive. The fast paced action in game felt my controller respond exactly how I wanted with superior accuracy. I felt as though I was using a mouse at times due to the reactive speeds I was experiencing. Additionally I tested out the paddles and and adjustable trigger locks which helped with FPS so I wasn’t making full motions of trigger and allowed even quicker reactions. Over all this controller takes the amazing controller and refines it into a pro level and grade quality that usually cost several hundreds of dollars.

Been a gamer for some time now and finding a decent controller (that lasts) is pretty challenging. SCUF usually makes really nice ones and this one is no exception. Whether on XBOX or PC, this is a really nice controller to use. I'm using this on my PC and it works really nice. My previous controller was a wired one but this being wireless is just really nice. The overall "fit" of the controller is nice. It feels good in the hand and the buttons are well placed and easily reachable without being too awkward. The customizable rear paddles are super nice which is something my older controller didn't have. It adds that extra versatility and enhances your gameplay quite nicely. The controller also has inline voice controls which is nice to easily increase/decrease volume without messing around with another amp or something. Biggest thing for me are the anti-drift thumbsticks. This is the single greatest pain point for me being a controller user in that these breakdown the fastest. This also leads me to having to get more controllers to replace the broken ones. They feel really nice during gameplay so here's hoping they can last longer than my previous controller did. Only time will tell how it holds up over time but here's hoping this one holds up and last for awhile.

If the original Xbox controller and the Xbox Elite controller had a middle brother, or sister, it would be the SCUF Valor Pro. It is a little more premium in feel and function than the original Xbox Controller. And it has many of the advanced features of the elite at a fraction of the cost. What I like most about the Valor Pro is the size and feel are so close to the first party controller that it feels like a tricked out first party controller. It feels comfortable in my hands, is responsive, does not suffer the stick drift issues of the original Xbox and Elite controllers, and I feel that the paddle setup feels very natural. Below is my detailed review. However, if you are short on time, let me just say that the SCUF Valor Pro is a fantastic controller that does not require me to make any compromises by choosing it over a first party controller. If anything, it allows me to dip into the premium world, with a familiar look and feel, without breaking the bank. If you are in the market for a new controller then I highly recommend giving the Valor Pro a spin. The meat of my review: First, it is almost the exact same size as the original Xbox controller. In the hand, it feels exactly like an original Xbox controller. The handles of the controller are covered in a hard textured rubber type material that prevents slipping. The grips do a good job. The rest of the Valor’s surface is covered in a smooth, soft texture that provides some additional handling control. It is not grippy enough to impede my ability to reach for buttons, manipulate the thumb sticks, or activate the controls on the bottom of the controller. The trigger and bumper buttons are smaller than the original Xbox controllers. Not a big deal since they are still spaced properly for my muscle memory. The trigger stops have two settings: long and short. The default setting allows the trigger to flow along its full range of motion. I found the default range of motion too deep for my liking and play style. The short setting is super short. There is almost no movement between rest and press. However, the short trigger setting has a higher resistance. I found that the increased responsiveness more than made up for the additional depression resistance. The bumpers, XYAB buttons, and thumb stick buttons all have a familiar feel as any other high quality Xbox controller. The XYAB buttons are black and look good with against the grey background and orange highlights. The XYAB buttons do not appear replaceable. At least not easily replaceable like the D-Pad and thumb sticks. The thumb sticks are a bit stiffer than what I am used too. It took a good twenty minutes of COD6 before I felt comfortable. This was especially true with aiming down sight. The increased resistance made it difficult for precision aiming until I got used to the additional resistance. The thumb sticks are interchangeable. The Valor Pro ships with two additional sticks. The sticks come in a medium height and tall size. Both replacement sticks have a concave pad to make it easier to control with the added height. The faceplate must be removed in order to replace the thumb sticks. Thankfully, the faceplate is magnetically attached which makes removal super easy. The sticks pull out and the replacements press on. I found that I need an exceptional amount of force to remove and replace the thumb sticks. The control surfaces of each thumb stick is also comfortable and feel well made. Finally, there is no tension control for the thumb sticks. What you have is what you have. I did find this a bit disappointing because I very much wanted to loosen them up a bit. Anti-Drift thumb sticks. My avatar in Titan Fall 2 no longer drifts to the right. If you have ever played Titan Fall 2 with a first party controller, then you know exactly what I am talking about. The Valor Pro does not suffer stick drift. Consider this confirmed! The paddle system is unique. I normally remove the paddles from any controller I own that has a paddle feature. Those without removeable paddles gets returned. I tend to play with a death grip on my controller. Which means the paddles just get in the way. I think SCUF had my play style in mind when they developed their paddle system. The paddles are thin slices taken out of the hand grips. Simply squeezing my hand is not enough to activate them so there is no worry about panic pressing either paddle. I found them to be very natural to use and did not require me to change my grip. Saying this, there are two buttons on the bottom of the controller. I did not like those so much because I would need to retrain my hands to use them. SCUF was thoughtful enough to make the buttons removable. The Valor Pro ships with replacement button covers to cover the buttons. The controller is wired. The SCUF Valor ships with a 10-foot fabric braided cable. The cable is USB A on one end, for the Xbox or PC, and the controller end is USB C. I realize that using a cable in 2025 may seem a bit old school. However, it does allow for the controller to be lighter due to the exclusion of a battery pack. The controller will also never run out of power or lose power. If you are anything like me then you enjoy long multi-hour gaming sessions where any interruption can cause a panic attack. I cannot tell you how many times I lost my you-know-what in the middle of a match because I forgot to charge my controller the day before. Unique features. The controller has a programing function. Essentially, I can reassign any button on the controller to a paddle. The bottom of the controller has a special program button. Press and hold the program button, press the button I want to map, and then press the paddle. Unfortunately, there is no PC or Xbox program that allows me to visually program the buttons. I also did not see any mention of programming macros to any of the paddle buttons. I know macro programming is popular on the PC side of the Call of Duty world and with other popular cross platform games. No joy here with the SCUF. And I am ok with that. I would rather play too my skills than play to my macro. At least I know that what I did, I earned. There are also three profiles that are easy to access: Blue, Green, Red. Each profile is a different paddle configuration. A simple press of the profile button on the bottom of the controller will cycle through all three. This makes finding an agreeable configuration a snap if you do not want to go through the trouble of programming each paddle. Overall, I really enjoy the SCUF Valor wired Xbox controller. What I was coming from was already a great controller. I found it to be a wonderful compromise between the original Xbox Controller and then Elite. Does it make me a better gamer? No. Not really. Better gear will increase enjoyment and may give me a leg up in some instances. But, I am still the same mediocre player I have always been.

This is by far the coolest-looking controller I have seen. Its texture and grip make it very comfortable. It's a very stylish-looking controller that is lightweight. The hexagon grip made this the most comfortable Xbox controller I have used. After a long gaming session, whether playing FPS or ARPGs, there is no fatigue. Yes, you have the customizable rear paddles. Allowing me to not break my concentration while gaming! All the X, Y, A, and B buttons all worked. The Joysticks worked as needed. This is always a concern here, but with time will tell. All made the Xbox click sound. You receive a long USB-C charging cord. I think the cord is about 10 feet long. Again, the main thing I liked about this was the grip. Some games can be very intense and with a good grip like this one those intense games are a breeze. No more sweaty and clammy hands. Overall, this controller does what you need it to do. It's lightweight, sleek, very grippy, and good looking. This is what you need in a good controller!

Where do I start??? I do like that the Valor Pro is a wired controller. No need to worry about battery dropping you in the middle of a game. It comes with a 10 foot long USB-A to USB-C cable so you should be able to sit comfortable distance from your monitor/TV. The feel in your hand isn't much different that the gobs of controllers in the market. The weight is perfect, not too heavy, not to lite (aka cheap feeling). I love that you get a few replacement parts to fine tune your experience. The extra thumbsticks and paddle deletes are welcome. I also love that the cover can be popped off extremely easy since they are held in place by magnets. Those magnets are strong enough to keep the cover in place even in heavy battle but easy enough to pop off the cover to install optional covers. I think I'm going to grab a couple to match PC themes. Speaking of which... I didn't mention that the Valor Pro is also PC compatible. Control placement is the same as the current controller that comes with the X-Box but with many enhancements on par with the Elite but at a significantly less cost. Th Scuf comes with extra thumbsticks. Installed are two shorter sticks and you get one medium and one tall extra in the box. I would have liked to see those come in pairs rather than single for each height. Installation is super easy, just pop off the controller cover and give a firm and easy pull on the thumbstick and they come right off. To install you reverse the procedure but making sure that the thumbstick has the shaft keyed correctly and press firmly in. Then put the cover back on and you are ready to play. The thumbstick switches are Hall effect making the position sensing extremely accurate since it relies on magnetic sensors. There are two grip paddles and two inner paddles on the bottom of the Scuf, much like the Elite but slightly different configuration. I really don't use those and to keep from accidentally pressing them in the heat of battle I appreciate that two inner paddle deletes are provided. Just pry off the button and slip in the delete. Very simple installation that anyone can do. I love that the main triggers can quickly toggle from instant trigger, great for shooter games where you just need to do a quick pull, and variable switch which is better suited for racing where you need finer control. The toggle switch is on the bottom inside near the triggers. The controller also supports audio comms with the built in 3.5mm headset jack and dual volume control knobs on either side of the jack. The left wheel controls volume to your headset and the right wheel adjusts volume on you mic. A simple press of either mutes the associated headset or mic. After a few hours of playing Madden 25 and Forza I can say I really do love how these feel and respond. I'm okay with wired instead of wireless... I actually have the wireless cousin to the Valor Pro and both offer great feature sets. Adding to that, Scuf is part of the Corsair family of products so you know the quality is there and that Corsair stands behind their products. I have my fair share of Corsair products and have been pretty much pleased with them. Grab one of these for $99 and you won't be disappointed.

Nice controller, but not as customizable as others

To begin, this controller is indeed a wired controller as advertised. There is no battery. If you unplug it, it does not work (just as advertised). The cord is pretty long (about 10 feet or so, I'm guessing). If that is not long enough, I am guessing any USB-A to USB-C cable (in a longer length) would work. The controller is comfortable and is akin to virtually any other Xbox Series S|X controller on the market in terms of form factor. There are "paddle" buttons on the underside of the controller, but they are "built in" to the controller in a different way that makes them seem less like paddle buttons than just extra buttons on the underside of the controller. (A couple of those buttons can actually be removed and replaced with a flat piece that removes the "bump" associated with the button.) The thumbsticks can apparently be replaced with a convex stick (as opposed to the concave stick that is on the controller by default). I was not able to figure out how to make this change easily, however, so did not explore it further. (Unlike some customizable controllers that use magnetic sticks that just pull off, this controller seemed different in that regard.) The D-pad is pretty straightforward and appears to be a permanent part of the controller (it does not appear to be replaceable). The feel and accuracy of the thumbsticks is what one would expect. Strangely, the select and menu buttons seem to be a little higher on the controller than on other controllers and it took me a little getting used to it as, when I went to press the buttons without looking, my thumbs landed on the plastic of the controller, below the buttons. Not a big deal, but struck me as a little odd. Ultimately, I am not sure what the appeal of this controller would be compared to a standard Xbox controller that ships with the Xbox. A typical controller with batteries can still be plugged in, just like this unit, if you wanted. Aside from the quasi-paddle buttons and the ability to change out the thumbsticks, I personally did not find anything in this controller to make it worth the investment. It is comfortable, works as it should, and is a good, quality controller, but so too is a regular 'ole Xbox controller.

A Pro controller with great features for about half the price? What’s the catch? It’s wired! I really do love this controller, even if I’m tethered by an obscenely long USB-A to USB-C cable, and my family members are tripping over the cord all day. The magnetic faceplate is awesome and makes changing out the thumb sticks so easy. If I want to switch from a FPS to something else, it only takes seconds for the swap. What makes this better is the profile button, where you can store different button/paddle mappings into one of three profiles. I can jump right in without having to spend so much time remapping every time I start the game. I would probably have bought another faceplate now if they were available, but unfortunately they aren’t (as of this writing). I love being able to switch the triggers from normal function to mouse-click functionality. The volume control wheels are fantastic. It’s great that I don’t have to keep jumping into the settings menus to adjust the volume. Quick muting makes them that much better. If you can live with being connected to a super long USB cable when on your couch, I would definitely recommend this controller.
