I've Loved scuf controllers for a long time, but this one. I don't know if I got a lemon but it's trash. Let's start by saying that there's an electrical problem in one of the TMR sticks and it has terrible stick. Drift which was not supposed to happen with this controller. I have contacted scuff and they tell me please bear with us in these holiday times. Your continued business is appreciated. Other than that it would be a fine controller

The Scuf Valor Pro Wireless Controller is a must have for your pc/xbox/mobile setup. It is very well built and has a very solid feeling. It is an officially licensed product by Microsoft, and they certainly picked a great controller to be part of their fleet. This controller is very closely related to another high end xbox controller. To me though, the Scuf Valor Pro has a much better feel overall to the grip and playability aspect. It does feel a bit less fatiguing in the hands and is very good overall design. While the controller does feel very solid and well built, it also uses many components to make it much lighter. One of the main aspects of the controller I love is the rear paddle setup. It has a much more streamlined design and the paddles sit much closer to the body of the controller. This keeps down the random accidental paddle presses during a game because they feel more natural in the controller. The other controller I just decided to remove the rear paddles because they stuck out so far and would accidentally hit them all the time. The paddles on the Scuf Valor Pro controller are also much firmer to push to help avoid that. Much of the controller plays just like other xbox controllers. A big part of this controller is the anti-drift technology built into the thumbsticks. All the time on other controllers if you bump the thumbstick wrong or it drops on the floor accidentally, it would cause the thumbstick to have a permanent "Drift". With this controller, I have not had fear of that, but only time will tell if that lack of fear holds up or not. On the Xbox and PC, You can go download the Scuf App and go into the controller settings and customize the paddles, and make other adjustments. It allows for quite the customization to give you the competitive edge. There are scroll wheels at the bottom of the controller on both sides of the headset jack. They control overall volume and game chat mix. The scroll wheels feel very solid and have a nice turn click. It does have a nice controller tray that comes out of the box easily and I use it to set the controller in when it is not in use. They do make different colored trim pieces and thumbsticks that can be changed out to suit your customization preference, including different shaped thumbsticks. It does have a dongle and a 6ft usb-c cable for a wired connection if you want faster response, and also to recharge the battery. I have gamed a whole week with the controller before it was needed to be plugged back in to charge. Overall, I highly recommend this controller. It definitely feels lighter and more enjoyable to game with. I look forward to continue using it for my gaming. Overall this controller is well worth the investment and

I got this Scuf Valor Pro wireless controller for my Xbox a few days ago, and I have to say, I'm really happy with it so far. I'm not really a full on hardcore gamer who plays all day every day, but I do enjoy jumping into different games when I have time. Stuff like FPS games where you need quick reactions, sports titles for some fun competition, sniper missions that require precision, puzzle games to relax, and fighting games for that intense back and forth. I figured it was time to upgrade from my old standard controller, which was starting to feel worn out after a couple years. The build quality feels solid and really nice. It's comfortable to hold, with a nice grip that doesn't slip even during longer sessions. I like how it connects wirelessly without any hassle too. It just pairs up with my Xbox Series X in seconds. The battery life has been good too. I have played for hours each day and only charged it once. No issues with lag or disconnection. What I really like is the feel of the buttons and sticks. They are responsive, like when I'm in a FPS game dodging bullets or aiming at enemies, everything reaponds right away. No delay that throws me off. The triggers are adjustable, which is great for sniper games where I want that hair trigger pull for quick shots. I have not messed with all the customization options yet, but there are several. In sports games, like basketball or soccer, the paddles on the back let me remap buttons so I can jump or sprint without taking my thumbs off the sticks. That has made things smoother, especially since I'm getting a little older and I'm not as quick as I once was. For fighting games, the d pad feels accurate and isn't mushy like some controllers. I can pull off combos pretty easily. Overall, it just feels premium in my hands, the weight is balanced, and it does not tire me out after playing for a bit. I have used it for about three or four days now, maybe 10 to 15 hours total, and everything is holding up well. The design looks clean too. I went with the black one, but there are other colors if you want something flashier. I don't have any real complaints. Maybe the price is a bit high compared to a basic controller, but for what you get, I think it's worth it. Especially compared to the basic Xbox controllers. If you are like me and play a mix of games, whether hardcore or casually, I think this controller makes the experience better without overcomplicating things. I would definitely recommend it. If you are thinking about getting one, go for it. You will notice the difference right away.

I only got the controller because they claim to have no stick drift. After using the controller for about 2 months, I dont like how small the controller is compared to an Xbox Elite controller. I dont like how the paddles behind the controller are built in and cannot be removed.

... And This One Was Just Right

The SCUF VALOR PRO controller from Corsair is surprisingly good. I'd say that it is "just right". I got it to play on the Xbox Series X. I didn't have very high expectations of it because I have some higher end controller and considered this mid grade. This turned out to be exactly what I wanted. There's a little bit of customization with the thumb sticks and the button mapping but nothing too crazy. I liked the feel in my hands, very ergonomic. The top satin finish is slightly rubbery which I liked to maintain grip. It shows oily finger prints really easy though. And the back is a more textured rubber that I really liked for grip. I don't often use paddle buttons but I like the feel of these on the back. They are different than most other paddle buttons. The best way to characterize it and why I like it is to compare it to my other more expensive controllers. The rumble is strong but quiet, my other controllers are really noisy when they rumble. All the buttons work great. There are only two trigger settings, full distance and rapid fire. My other controllers allow you to customize that distance to really tune it in but it just seemed like too much work and unnecessary so I liked how it is on VALOR PRO. Also the triggers are just the right sensitivity. My other controllers are so sensitive that they are constantly erroneously getting activated so I really like this about the VALOR PRO. And the resistance was perfect, my other controllers pull back too easily and make it hard to add finesse. I used this controller to play shooter games and racing games. As I said above the rapid fire distance and sensitivity on the triggers were perfect for me. The thumb sticks were also good navigating my character and going for the kill. I thought the triggers also had good resistance and distance when I was racing to give me better control of my acceleration. There wasn't any latency using them with wireless and the dongle. I didn't have any issues or concerns with game play and they worked exactly how I wanted them to. There are different profiles and settings you can load with the app to get that custom pro feel but I was happy with out of the box functions. The battery life is really good, I haven't even needed to charge it yet. I would recommend this for most everyday gamers. Just note that you'll have to wipe off the controller so it doesn't look overly dingy even when it's not. I do wish that for the price point it came with some lighting accents to give it some extra pop and individuality but other than that I liked it.

Corsair SCUF controllers have always had excellent build quality and weight to them. This Valor PRO controller is no exception. It feels extremely well built, which I expect. The triggers, bumpers, buttons, d-pad and joysticks all function quite smoothly and very responsive, as they should be. I like the cosmetics of the controller with the cool designs on certain parts and the matte black finish all over. It catches my eye but isn't distracting. Being able to customize the button mapping is great and definitely convenient. The included usb dongle works well with my Xbox Series X and connects right away. Now, I do have some issues with it though. First, the way the paddles are, on the inner part of the grips, is inconvenient because they are hit, unintentionally, very easily and this causes issues when playing aa game. The inner paddles or buttons are an odd shape and don't activate unless pressed a certain way. It makes holding the controller uncomfortable. Next, not having the ability to connect to the Xbox without the dongle is annoying. I'd much rather have it be able to connect without the dongle. The switch to change from Xbox, pc and blue tooth seems a little cheap and would be much better if it was a button. Lastly, a controller at this price point should come with it's own case, like most others do. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this controller and my 3 star rating reflects that.

Take your controller play to the next level

This controller is amazing. I’ve mostly used standard Xbox controllers over the years and have never really gotten into the “pro wireless” market before. One of the biggest issues I’ve constantly struggled with on Microsoft’s standard controllers is stick drift — I have three official Xbox controllers now, and every one of them has some level of drift. That’s why I was so excited to try the Valor Pro Wireless Controller from Scuf. Build Quality and Comfort The first thing you notice is the build quality — it feels incredible in your hands. It’s slightly heavier than a standard Xbox controller, but that extra weight doesn’t translate into any kind of hand fatigue during long gaming sessions. The hand grips feature a soft, grippy rubber coating on the back, while the front sports a smooth matte black finish that looks and feels premium. Size-wise, it’s about the same as a standard Xbox controller, maybe just a touch taller around the bumpers. The buttons feel fantastic right out of the box with instant, tactile feedback. There’s no noticeable latency at all when playing wirelessly, and the thumbsticks are smooth with just the right amount of resistance. If I had one small wish, it would be for slightly larger or more concave thumbstick pads for better thumb grip — but that’s a minor preference and something easy to get used to. Features and Customization The Valor Pro maintains the standard Xbox button layout, but adds several pro-level features. There are front-side audio controls if you want to plug your headset directly into the controller, four rear paddle buttons, and locking triggers. Where this controller really shines is with the Scuf Companion App on PC. Using the app, you can remap every single button and paddle, fine-tune trigger sensitivity, and create multiple controller profiles. Switching between games is effortless — just load your preferred setup, and the controller instantly adapts. I especially like configuring an open trigger on the left for aiming and an instant trigger on the right for firing — the feedback is absolutely instantaneous. You can even customize vibration strength and haptic feedback zones, deciding where and how much vibration you want to feel. The app itself is user-friendly, intuitive, and lets you save your profiles directly to the controller, so when you reconnect to your Xbox, you’re ready to play immediately. Pairing to the console is almost instant, and I haven’t experienced any connection drops or latency issues so far. Battery Life and Performance Scuf advertises around 17 hours of battery life on a full charge, and so far, that’s proving to be accurate. It’s too early to say for sure whether this controller will truly resist stick drift long-term, but I’m hopeful based on its design and performance so far. Final Thoughts All in all, the Valor Pro Wireless Controller is hands down the best Xbox controller I’ve ever used — even better than Microsoft’s own Xbox Elite controller. Between its excellent build quality, endless customization options, and flawless performance, I’d highly recommend it to any Xbox or PC gamer looking to take their gameplay to the next level.

A comfortable controller with oh-so-smooth action

For context, I'm upgrading from the basic Xbox Wireless Controller to this Valor Pro, and the difference is night and day! The controller comes with a high speed wireless dongle that's used to connect to a PC, but you can also select the controller to use bluetooth and (of course) an Xbox. I'm a PC gamer, so the dongle is the best option since it's a bit faster than the bluetooth. The controller comes with additional thumbsticks and covers that essentially "mute" the two rear buttons. Essentially what this means is the controller is highly customizable. But there's more to that! For starters, the face plate is removable - which you'll need to do anyway in order to swap out the thumbsticks. What I really like is the changeable action of the triggers. You can set them for a long trigger action or a short click - and this comes in handy when changing between, say, a driving game (which I play a lot of) vs. something simpler like a platformer. Speaking of play, the controller is so comfortable in my hands. The non-slip grip texture works well for me; the overall weight of the controller is substantial, but not overdone; and the should buttons are actually wider...extending a bit along the sides of the controller. This helps me access them quicker, although I few times I did find myself pressing them accidentally. You may have noticed by now that I haven't mentioned the TMR action of the thumbsticks. It's SO SMOOTH, I just love it! Moving around in games really makes me wonder how I've played for so long without this tech. It really brings the whole package home. So much about this controller is simply comfortable with smart button placement that goes naturally to where I rest my fingers.

    PREMIUM BUILD, FEATURE PACKED

FEATURE PACKED CONTROLLER- NEEDS BETTER INSTRUCTIONS/MANUAL. The controller itself is amazing but it is not setup friendly in my opinion but I will touch on that a little later in the review. BUILD The controller has an amazing premium feel to it, satin smooth on the face, textured rubber on the back which give you a secure comfortable grip. It has a nice weight to it, it doesn't flex, the buttons/triggers/sticks have a nice spring-back action after being pressed. The extra 4 paddle buttons seemed like overkill until I got used to using the buttons right behind the grips and those are intuitive placed. The center 2 buttons on the back weren't used too much by me, their placement is odd and uncomfortable for me. The wired response is by far the best, the low latency connection with the dongle is pretty good too. I definitely noticed a lag with the bluetooth connection and therefore I don't use that method. SETUP The setup was not simple, connecting via the dongle took a bit for my controller to be found and once it was found updating the dongle took a bit selecting and un-selecting because the controls were glitchy for some reason. Once that was done the calibrating wasn't working and it said I had to update the controller, you won't know it has to be connected via a cable unless you search it on their website which doesn't provide any of the steps in order...it's kind of all over the place. Re-mapping the buttons is also not very direct, mind you it might be a different experience on the Xbox, I got them specifically to use for my PC gaming and on a PC it was not as smooth as I would have expected hence the subtraction of a star. OVERALL Once i got it going, the responsiveness was great, the gameplay did go smoothly. The halfthrow trigger settings are a game changer, the rear paddle buttons are intuitive and easy to get used to...the software to make changes and initial setup are a pain.
