it's a good game for a sale price ($24.99) and it looks amazing in 4k HDR, but I was more interested in the price than realizing that it was mostly multiplayer online. I can't fault the game for that, just my misconception.

I really enjoy playing this game with friends but the game seems like it was released too early and doesn't have too many features. You tend to feel like you are doing a lot of the same stuff over and over again.

My girlfriend and I decided on picking up a copy while we were looking for a co op game to play. This game is great fun. The graphics are great and the gameplay is simple but fun once you get used to sailing your ship. It's a lot more fun with a full crew. We haven't come across many aggressive players, most offered to join us or invited us to join them.

If you've ever dreamed of being a pirate, you'll absolutely love Sea of Thieves. From digging up treasures, taking out other pirate ships, fighting skeletons (skellies), drinking grogs, to fighting the Kraken. It's all in the Sea of Thieves. A tip. When you 1st get into the game, you'll be clueless what you have to do. 1st, collect cannons, wooden planks & banannas from where you start the game. Next, go to the little tent on the main beach & collect a few voyages. That'll get you going & it'll get easier from there to grasp what to do. Always bring your loot to a outpost to get paid, before a potential attack from other pirate's. Enjoy. It's a lot more fun with a crew of 2 or more. Still lot's of fun alone

This games is much better when played with friends as opposed to by yourself. The game becomes a bit repetitive and a grind after a while. Hopefully this is addressed with future game-play updates.

Bought this for my kid, he thoroughly enjoyed the title for a couple days, but went back to Fortnite since. It's more fun if you play with friends, but as a solo game it kind of loses it's appeal.

Overall good and fun with friends game. Needs more content but that's kinda expected because it's new. Need to come up with a way to lock out rouge teams who constantly come after you.

If you are looking for a game to kill some time, this is a good open world multiplayer game. If you are looling for a story or good single player experience Id steer clear.

There’s not a whole lot to this game (hopefully this’ll be rectified in future updates) but, as it is, it’s still a really great time when played with a group of friends.

An open world chance to portray a pirate of your choice! My biggest complaint so far is the random pirate generator when creating your avatar. I would have liked a bit more choice in how scurvy my pirate could be. Outside of that if you enjoy relaxing boat rides with music and grog, chasing down a rogue chicken during a hurricane or running away from a ship that wants to turn your sloop into a cheese grater, this game is for you! Lots of possibilities, lots of hijinx. Even more fun if you can get 1-3 more players to play with you. I have a feeling this good game is just only going to get better!

This is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. If you like open world adventure games, or deeply enjoyed the sailing in Assassin's Creed, you will greatly enjoy this game. Ignore the people that have complained about lack of content. It has plenty of content and the devs have plans for free content updates over a long time.

Took awhile to get used to sailing ship but once I did very fun. Really like all of the content they keep adding like skeleton ships. You can choose your level of involvement from large ship with a full crew of peops down to a one man ship. I started on one man to get hang of handling everything. Very fun and storms are neat!

Sea of Thieves hopefully kicks off Microsoft's 1st party offerings in 2018. It's stunningly beautiful, especially on a 4K/HDR capable tv and Xbox One X. Unfortunately the gameplay is a ocean wide but a pond deep. Very shallow gameplay and the "lateral" progression system is completely at odds with what other shared world games are doing in the here and now. With friends this game, admittedly, I'd quiet fun. But after the shenanigans, what else is left?

This game is a lot of fun. At release it was a little bare in terms of content but the “bones”/foundation were really intriguing and it was easy to imagine what the game could be. Now with the expansions thag have been released and the planned releases for the future, the game is truly coming into its own. Highly recommend.

If you like online co-op play, this game is a lot of fun. A bit repetitive but more content is promised.

I was excited for Rare's new title they have made some of my favorite games in the past and all signs pointed to this title as promising. Game is out though and I feel like it left a lot to be desired. It lacks in content and is super repetitive. Playing alone is really not fun at all and actually the multiplayer part of the game is the only reason I rated it 3 stars. I would wait to pick this game up until more content becomes available.

Sea of Thieves in its current state is nothing more than a skeleton of a great game. Massive potential currently ruined by lack of content and variety. There are only 3 mission types at this time, all of which are truly just fetch quests. You either go on a treasure hunt, find and capture animals (chickens, pigs, and/or snakes), or you hunt a bounty. There is currently only one NPC enemy type - Skeletons. There are a few types of skeletons, but otherwise you are just fighting skeletons over and over again. PVP is great, until you realize sinking an enemy ship puts you at a disadvantage when they respawn 3 minutes away with full supplies. There is not vertical progression. All progression is cosmetic based and currently there are only 3-4 clothing designs that have 3-4 recolored skins each. This game is beautiful, and sailing and goofing around with friends is fun, but after 3-4 hours you have seen what there is to offer. I do not recommend buying this in its current state.

It's a good game but not great. The visuals are amazing and overall gameplay is fun. My only small complaint is that it's very repetitive.

Purchased for my older son. He LOVES this game and doesn't stop playing. Lots of questing, lots of entertainment value. He plays with a lot of his friends online and does co-operative missions together. Looks great on a 4k projector.

Great game with great bones. I give this 4 stars with the hope they continue to build upon this game. It has been rough seas, but where the game lacks in content, it make up for in a great social atmosphere with friends and some great memories, for now. I can see that getting old in the near future. If you're on the fence, I'd wait a few months in hopes that the games "Grind for Gear" play style gives more to grind for. As well as provide some more depth in this vast pirate ecosystem.
