Overall, I love everything about Sea of Thieves. The water effects are fantastic and the sandbox is a blast. The area is needs some help with is the actual mission content. There is little variety to keep you going and it gets repetitive very quickly. Since this is a games as service, I have no doubt that Rare has more to come, and in the meantime, I'm happy just bouncing between missions to become a legendary pirate and vomiting all over my crew after sticking them in the brig.

I've really enjoyed my time with Sea of Thieves. It's not your standard shoot em up, battle royale, or frenetic action title. It's a far more subdued game, with plenty of sailing, punctuated by moments of intense and fun action. It's better played with friends, that can experience a journey together, and fill in those quiet moments at sea with jokes and laughter. You have to use your imagination to fill in the gap, but if you surrender to the sea, you'll have a great time!

I have had a blast with this game. Joining a few friends, mix in some drinks, and have fun wrecking the seas! The ocean is some of the best visuals I have seen in a game. Note: the game is limited to a few different "quest" style modes that you repeat, but it is still fun and I can't wait to watch the game grow. The game gets better with the human element. As your treasure grows, you start to really watch out for other pirates trying to steal your loot before you can turn in.

Gameplay and graphics are great. Even more fun with friends. Does need more content to maintain the entertainment.

Wasn’t the best game at launch but gets better and better with each update. A bit difficult to play solo, but not impossible. Definitely more fun if you can get a few friends together to work as a crew and set sail in search of fortune and glory. Open world, plenty of quests. Better with friends. Gameplay is significantly better with others.

The game is ok. The graphics are good but can be flat (snakes) in some instances. The game play can feel very slow at times. Group play can be a pain when you get locked in the brig - happens a lot. If you play solo you are easy prey for ships with groups of players. Think this is one of those games that have a lot of potential but will never reach it.

Okie dokie first off this game is gorgeous the detail they put into the graphics are fantastic. Second you will want to play with friends its way more fun and you will be less likely to die for whatever reason :) Third the only thing really to do it is sail and do treasure quests theres not plot line or missions that tell a story as of yet. P.s. right now dont think its worth 60$ i think its only worth 30$ right now.

This game is a solid purchase at 9.99. Great graphics and great water effects. The pirates really are trolls but its fine the game is more fun when you are being chased by some mad pirates

This is a Pirate game meant for playing in groups... not as solo. I played the first few days on my own, using a sloop and trying to figure things out by myself. I tend to like PvE and not PvP so much. Unfortunately, this is an open world and after spending about an hour collecting things - another sloop came up on me and took my stuff. After a few times having this happen and literally dying at what I thought would be a safe Outpost port - I decided to play in a full Galleon mode. This was a much better overall experience. Again, it's about who gets paired with you - so you can get some folks that really shouldn't be in the group and are there to troll. There are mechanisms to get rid of them. Make sure you have your mic on as well. And for Pete's sake - don't let you 8 year old play. For PvE - Gameplay is buggy and glitchy and a bit repetitive. You jump around a lot trying to get around on the ship. You get used to it but it doesn't make it any less annoying. I hope it gets better with patch releases. The water dynamics and weather dynamics are awesome. The AI is pretty good as well.

This game stands with its reviews of being insanely fun!! You sail the high seas in search of adventure with friend and foe, searching to find treasure chests or be robbed of treasure chests. The great thing about the game is that even if you do take a loss to another player it is no big loss which in other games makes you want to pull your hair out. It's fun for all with no huge learning curve . You must have an internet connection for this game. If your not into hunting for and digging up treasurechest there are plenty of other things to do in the game. I enjoy this game and strongly suggest if you want to get it watch a few people play the game, you will find it entertaining enough for you to want to play it too!!

Really enjoyed this game for about 4 hours then it became cyclical and I lost interest. Best looking water in any video game to date. The game is repetitive and feels empty as there is no progression system. Ma6be this will be added at a later date. Not worth $60 purchase, more like a $30 purchase.

This is a fun game! Especially if you play with a friend, or if you can get a group together, even bettter! A voyage can take 30 mins or 3 hours, so get ready for a lot of grinding. You can go treasure hunting or be a real pirate and try to rob other pirates. It’s very glitchy at the moment, but hopefully the updates will eventually smoothen everything out.

I had been excitedly following the development of Sea of Thieves for close to a year, and after trying out the Open Beta in the beginning of March I was completely blown away by the game's charm, beauty, and over the top fun to be had! No online co-op game has ever been this enjoyable for me, and it is a wonderful way to spend quality time with my son and nephew who live half a continent away. Well done, Rare!

This game will not be for everyone. Even with all of the countless updates and content given to this game you will need to have friends to enjoy this game in it's entirety. I applaud Rare for trying something different, but really no way to play if you are only playing single player.

Great game, but beware it’s much more geared towards multi-player gaming. The bigger ships you need more than one person to use. People will often attack you or your ship, hijack ships, etc. This isn’t bad, but threw me off guard as I was expecting another option for just singe-player, which doesn’t really work/happen. Fun though!
