This external hard drive lives up to seagate quality and performance. I was able to easily format, register the hard drive, and transfer all of my photos from my hard drive and a smaller external hard drive with ease and very quickly. It is only slightly thicker than an older 1tb with 5x the space and I got it in a metallic brushed light blue color that looks great. This will work great to store all of my RAW and edited photos for business. OHH also come with a free year of online photo storage through mylio and 2 months adobe creative cloud as a bonus!

Connecting the drive was a simple process. Connect the supplied USB cable to the drive and then to the correct USB 3.0 port on the computer. Windows 10 immediately recognized the drive and ready for software. I opened the drive and clicked the Start_Here_Win application as instructed, then completed the registration process and continued to download the Toolkit installer. So far so good, but this is where the process went south. I ran the Toolkit installer as administrator and was greeted with the terms and conditions screen, so far so good. Then I clicked continue and got a downloading message with a path box. The path was program files (x86)\toolkit, but then it goes to a red connectivity error message advising me to check my internet connection. Went to check the directory to see what was downloaded, but the toolkit directory doesn't exist. Disabled my Norton antivirus and firewall and tried again. Same result. Tried editing the directory to save the download to c:\temp\toolkit, same error, still no download and didn't create the directory. Navigated to the Seagate support page and entered my info and problem to have them call me. Got a message it would be approximately 3 minutes. 30 minutes later...Nothing... no phone call and no email. The hardware appears to be solid, the software may be good if you can actually install it. Tech support gets a FAIL. The purpose of the drive is to automatically back up my important audio, video and other files, until or unless I can get the Toolkit to download I guess I'll have to manually move the files I want to this drive.

I haven't used it a lot, but when I have, it works fine.

I store a lot of audio files and needed something that can hold them in the order I want and not fill up my primary backup drive or laptop. Found this on sale and I like the brand and trust it. So this works perfectly for what I need.

It seems made on purpose, just at the end of the 3 year warranty, it started working very slowly and therefore unusable. No way to fix it.
