    Seagate has 100% of my business because, (knock on wood), my fourteen drives of this basic design have been trouble free since 3/29/15 the date I put my first into continuous 3 year operation, and I now rely on it for a backup. I use four of the drives continuously for roughly 3-4 years, then as backups.

    I have 4 external drives in a Windows Storage Spaces Volume. The configuration has low write speed, but sufficient read speed. By using this drive as a hub, I was able to plug 2 of my other drives through it and eliminate a stand-alone external USB hub. In my use case, that made the drive very worth it.
