Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Barracuda 2TB Internal Hard Drive's large storage capacity, speed, and affordability. Many appreciate its ease of installation and setup. While some users noted the drive produces some noise and doesn't include a SATA cable, the positive feedback on performance and value outweighs these minor drawbacks.

    Great mechanical storage option

Bought this to replace my old 2009 1TB Barracuda. This 2TB model is used for games that aren't played daily, Shadowplay recordings and general data storage. Performance is fantastic, especially for a mechanical drive. It's no SSD but I'm pleasantly surprised at the speed. Would recommend if you already have an SSD boot drive and just need more internal storage for less frequently used files.

This one was on sale when I bought it but even its regular retail price is amazing! Came in within the week after ordering it online. 2 TB is plenty of storage for storing my games and software I plan on adding. No damage whatsoever when it arrived and I must say that I personally love product appearance! However I will say that it makes a digitalis sound from time to time when loading things on my PC. I figured thats normal since its a disc drive.

A Great Fast Large Storage HDD

I picked up two of these 2TB drives instead of going with a 4TB HDD for storing all my games and other files in my new PC Build. The 4TB I was looking at (a different company) had a lot of bad reviews for failing on them, I went with drive. So glad I did. No problems with the two drives I picked. I would absolutely recommend this drive to anyone looking for a fast large storage HDD.

I bought two of these drives to insert in my network attached storage box. I set them up as RAID. The NAS box recognized the drives right away and setup was very easy. So far they have worked great. Transfer rate on my network is fast, part of which I attribute to the ability of the drives to write pretty fast. Very satisfied. And I needed them right away and my Best Buy store had them in stock.

For its current price, you can't go wrong with this 2TB drive. Cosmetically, I like the drive's slim profile. In terms of functionality, it's responsive and does the job. I'm using it as a backup drive for my M.2 drive. A great option if you are looking for additional storage.

I have had excellent luck with mine and there is no competitor able to provide the quality and storage capability at this price point. For a work computer or every day desktop this is perfect, runs very well, and is built very well. Obviously less suited to gaming than an SSD but the value here makes it a great substitute for budget and mid-range builds as well.

Built my computer using this excellent hard drive for the price. Would recommend if you are building a computer and need a solution for storage. I would still recommend a SSD since they're light years faster than this but this is still relatively fast for what it is and how much you're paying for it.

So far so good. I've only had the drive for a few weeks. I replaced a similar Seagate Barracuda 1TB that I used as an external drive for my Mac. The new one works. Time will tell if it remains reliable.

It's a good hard drive, but it's pretty loud, their speed claim is accurate at my end. Overall not a bad option for large storage and being cheap.

I use disk management to create 2 1TB-partition and to format using NTFS. This is my first Seagate BarraCuda I use as second HDD in 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD computer. I use a lot data in less than a week (this PC show 1.19TB free of 1.18 TB). It performs very well and run quietly, I hear no noise. Model:ST2000DMA08 7200 revolutions.

As far as hard drives go, this one does just fine, and hasn't given out after a few months of ownership. The 7200 RPM keeps it feeling fairly responsive in relation to other large 5400 RPM drives. Using it as a drive for frequently accessed files has been pretty great, but as always, if you want faster, more spontaneous access to larger files for professional projects or want instantaneous loading speeds in games, using any type of SSD is the way to go, but this one will do just fine if you don't mind a little bit of an extra wait in exchange for the capacity.
