Seagate Barracuda is a good, reliable drive. Best buy had this 2 TB drive for a good price. Ordered it online for pickup at the store. Picked it up an hour later.

I've been using Barracuda drives for many years now for professional video editing and backup without any issues.

Definitely one of the fastest hdd ( 7200 rpm) . Great for large file backup . Even game loading isnt that bad. Around 220 mb/s speed , faster than wd blue. Goes head to head with wd black yet chealer than the wd black. Only reaon im giving 4 star is beacuse the occasional clicking nosie it developed in less than 3 months of light usage.

Used this drive to replace a failing OEM Dell drive and increase capacity. Clone worked great using Seagate Disk Wizard Software. Computer is working better than before. Good value. Note: Macrium Free didn't work. So if you want to clone use the Seagate Software which is free for cloning and backup.

I purchased this to replace a 1TB Barracuda that failed after 24/7 use for a number of years. Very easy to simply switch out for the failed drive and to load the OS and programs. Have always had good luck with Seagate, and this is the 2nd Barracuda I've used to replace an old failed drive. Would happily purchase again.

Ultimately, what matters most in a hard drive is data integrity over a long period of time, and so the rating I've awarded this item is provisional. I purchased this hard drive as a replacement for a boot drive that was showing signs of looming mechanical failure. After connecting it to a 2012-era msi Z77A-G43, I immediately saw a significant improvement in the system's performance, especially when processing database queries. I believe this to have been the best value out of a lineup of suitors that had similar or better data transfer specs, but would not have been able to reach their potential paired with an aging motherboard. I expect this hard drive to survive its current system and later be incorporated into a new computer, where it should serve adequately as a backup drive.

Built a new PC with $2200 in parts. Needed another drive for my labs this is working great with no issues.

I bought this 2TB SATA drive to add some internal storage to my desktop which came with a 256GB SSD. Installing the drive was simple but it did not come with the mounting screws so I had to get those 6X32 screws and cut them down to size. The drive works fine and is relatively quite.

This hard drive is loud and kinda slow. But it was inexpensive and has large capacity (2TB). It's good for just storage, but It's NOT good for gaming as a primary drive. Some games lately are conpletely unoptimized for Hard Drives and you will have problems playing. One example is Battlefield 2042. It takes minutes to join a match on hard drive, and even if you join at the start of the match with friends at the same time, you will be the last one to actually enter the match. You will be stuck on the loading screen for long before you join. And even after the match ends, or if you quit the match, you will have to wait for a loading screen. When starting a multiplayer match, by the time the match finishes loading up and puts you in the game, everyone will have already started playing and there will be progress made in the match. It's very annoying. Some other games are not like that, so maybe it is just EA/DICEs fault and not thenhard drive's, but still, after this I wouldn't trust a hard drive for gaming again since SSDs have become the standard now and games will start depending more and more on SSDs.

Great! It has held up even 2 years later. Would recommend if you're looking for something this big and affordable.

Reviewing this after nearly 2 years after purchase. Hands down the best value HDD, 2 TB which serves as my main storage alongside my NVME.

Using this as my games drive. Since adding this drive has help download larger game files. Looking at you COD. Games still load fast and i have opened up way more space on my M.2 drive for OS and quick loading programs i need for work. Less clutter=better performace.

I really think these drives are great for what they are. They're cheap and reliable, decent seek times, good longevity. I might be kind of old school, but running a 1TB M.2 boot drive and just expanding with these has been my recommendation for awhile now. Come in larger capacities, too...

My old drive was showing signs of malfunction so I had to make a quick decision to purchase a new drive. I would normally do more research. But this drive did not disappoint me. This is a really good deal for a 2 TB . You normally pay that price for a 1 TB Does the average person need a drive that big? Yes they do. Todays OS's and programs take up a lot of drive space. Some of the newer cases are more compact so make sure you have the space. This is a i full sized drive. I'm still using my old Monster XION case because I like all the room in it so I had no problem with the standard size drive bays. it fit right in. It does not come with an install disk, but you really don't need one. Hook it up and format. Set your partitions and you're ready to go. I ran some tests on it and everything checked out good. Microsoft loaded an update edition of windows 10 And it pretty much arranged it's self . This drive would also be perfect for a DVR and security cameras.

I needed a secondary drive for a gaming pc that I was building and this one offered speed and storage at a decent price. It was easy to install and its reasonably quick for a non SSD drive.

Been using Seagate Drives since I had 3 of 5 WD 250Gb drives fail in a raid 5. Got tired of replacing drive, been using Seagate ever since and never had one fail. Still have lots of old 160, 250, and 1000GB drives in use. This drive was great too. Fast and quiet. More room for Steam games.....LOL

Superlative all the way around. Money well spend with fast speed on desktop. it makes odd noises every so often yet it still is by far the best on the market thus far

I was skeptical because of the price, but this drive performs well and has given me no issues. Its not the quietest drive I've had but certainly not the loudest. I have two of these now and would not hesitate to use them as replacements for aging hard drives in other systems.

The hard drive works as it is supposed to and I am satisfied with it's performance. It is quiet, has plenty of storage space, and I use it for storing my personal files outside of my operating system. I recommend this hard drive.
