Use the HD to backup files. This includes photos, videos, music, software, and all my various PC disk images. The 4TB is large enough to accommodate all this. Everything is accessible in reasonable time.
The unit fit into a new drive housing without any problems. No shoehorning, etc.

Is secretly a shingled drive (SMR)

This drive uses SMR platters instead of CMR platters which makes it 20x slower than a normal hard drive.
I bought this drive to use as a game drive, and I (no joke) have to wait up to 15 seconds to simply VIEW the files on the drive. Loading games from it is also much slower then my previous 2TB Barracuda (CMR)
I personally dont recommend any SMR drives for daily use.
SMR drives should be labeled as SMR or CMR, Western Digital lost a class action lawsuit over this, i guess Seagate is next.

Installation instructions and additional hardware would help but once installed it works fine.
