Bought this for my Movie Server.
Easy install, just snapped it into place and connected the cables.
On Windows 10, 64 bit, I did have to format the drive before it showed up, but followed the procedure on the Seagate website, did the 'quick' format and it took just a couple seconds.
Very quiet, don't hear it running at all.
It is only 5400 rpm, vs 7200 for the faster ones, but it's fast enough to feed movies thru my home network.
Only negative is that it didn't come with a user manual, but the Seagate website had info on installing/formatting.

Normally, I buy Western Digital, so I was skeptical when I bought this. I was wrong. This is a great hard drive and well worth the money. I used this to replace other hard drives and consolidate them into one drive. I recommend this for adding to a desktop, whether for gaming or non-gaming use.

Upgraded our 4 bay NAS to something a little larger. Needed to replace the 9 year old drives that were failing. These were easy to install and the performance for the money was great. Waiting for them to go on sale again to purchase 3 more. Would recommend these to anyone needing a drive for extra storage.

This hard drive is the perfect size for a gamer’s library. I love that I can have so many games loaded to play! This is the biggest drive I’ve ever had and I’m very happy with it!

Bought this to use as my off site backup drive. Seems to be well made and was easily formatted to what I needed it for. Quiet operation for a HDD and no issues fitting it inside the enclosure I purchased along with it. I do wish seagate was a bit more descriptive about the intent of the "compute" branding. I'm making an educated guess it's more for operating systems or storage of programs rather than files, pictures, and videos you might see on a NAS.

It's a little slower than I wanted, but I was comparing it to the newer type of drives so I guess I should have expected that.
With that said, the amount of stuff I was able to put on this drive is uncanny. I had so many smaller hard drives just sitting around with data on them that it's not even funny.
Although there are, of course, hubs and such and housing capabilities for the drives, when you have a Mac mini your options can only go so far to the point where you either buy a super expensive hub with TONS of faster ports, or you buy this larger, economical hard drive and save yourself a bunch of money on a way too expensive mega-hub.
IMO this was the better option.
