Works great so far for freeing up space on my smaller drives. The drive works as it should and I have not experienced anything that would make me think my files aren’t safe. It sits on my desk and I don’t keep it plugged in running constantly, only when I need to use it.

I bought it in November 2024. It shipped to my house in a box that didn't have cushion/padding and the item box itself had a small 1 inch gash on the side. I tried it and it worked and transfered 400 GB. But it took longer and longer to recognize after each plug in. Then it stopped recognizing it. Next day I took it in and got a replacement from bestbuy. Transferred about 2 TB so far and it seems fine. I am actually transferring another 300GB as I type this to do a final test as the holiday return window is ending soon. I do hope its not a sign of reliability issue and just a one time defective issue. I will rate it 4 out of 5 for now. Not sure if I can change my rating later or something, but yeah. For 200 dollars, I would recommend it for 14TB.

good device for the price, only down side which I don't know if it's my system but it's super slow to transfer anything. 200GB took about 6 hours using my brand new mac mini M4 pro chip.

Needed a lot of storage and this really hits the mark. Easy to use and a lot of space.

i really like the Storage device because it has tons of storage space. However, when I turn it on, I hear the disk inside, spinning, and it reminds me about the former ext. drives I've had, which stopped working as I approached the storage limit. It just makes me nervous to hear that noise. It does open up fast, and the storage capacity is great for an avid photographer< or if you have tons of files to store. One thing I don't like is that it has an electrical cord you must connect to a outlet. It's not your typical external drive, which you hook up to a USB port and that's all.. This Drive has the el. cord and a USB cord. It's a bulky and a bit heavy to carry around and use, if you're sitting around waiting to be called at your Dr's office (as an example).

This is not 14tb which is why im taking a star off. its actually 13tb but it is still amazing. I bought this to dump all of my photos taken from my DSLR and my iphone from time to time. Ocassinaly you will hear it spin as it is a HDD but its fairly quiet. It is fast when transferring phototos to it and looks nice im my desk. I forget that it is there half the time. I reccomend this if you want a hard drive just to dump data too. Even though its not 14tb like advertized it still has plently of Storage

Seagate always seems to have the perfect storage solutions for every occasion or storage situation. In the past I ordered the 2tb option but for this solution I need something larger. I came across the 14 tb offering from Seagate and I was blown away at the simple plug and play feature that seems to come with all Seagate devices. I now have more space than I know what to do with. I don't believe at this time or any time in the near future I will need to upgrade space, but in case I do, Seagate offers larger storage options at decent cost effective prices. Now the only question left is "What took me so long?"

I bought this for external storage to lower burden on built in hard drive. Not sure why, but, the drive loses connection and I need to unplug it from USB port and then reconnect it. I have 2017 iMac. Maybe with newer computers this isn't an issue? Tried plugging it into a USB 3.0. hub to see if it was a port issue... no luck. I guess I won't know if my iMac is the problem until I replace it. But, I feel like the drive should stay connected to the CPU regardless of the age of the CPU. Might have just bitten off a little too much storage with 14TB?

14TB can’t beat the price, y’all. Solves so many storage problems. Remember when huge drives cost an arm and a leg. Choosing between feeding the kids or getting that right size drive? Not anymore the future has arrived, and the kids can eat again. Hurray

The Seagate 14 TB drive was a great choice. It’s small and compact relative to the other external hard drives fits in with the other brands I have., the drive boots up quick and is quiet when operating, definitely will pick another one up, especially for the 199.00 price. I highly recommend.

First one was defective & made grinding noise, 2nd was fine. A good value for a name brand & high (14 TB) capacity.

Works great! This disk has enough capacity for all my off line backups at a moderate price.

My current 3TB drive is getting full - took awhile - but it's time for more space. It's also a Seagate which I've had very good experiences with over the years. This offers LOTS more space, and it's faster than my current drive. Used for audio/video files galore, plus for backup purposes using imaging software, and more. Plugged it in and away we went in no time. Wonderful performer thus far. More than happy.

I’m using this as my go-to cold storage solution and alongside Backblaze to sync my working files and projects. It’s big and chunky—definitely not the most portable option—but so far, it does the job. Speeds are decent for a USB 3.0 drive, and the massive capacity makes it great for backups. Not the most exciting piece of tech, but if you need a reliable, no-frills storage solution, this gets the job done.

This is wonderful! So much storage and quick downloads. I love it has a recovery service too. All in all, a great product and helping my business grow!

decent drive. a bit loud but the storage amount i was looking for is there. works with WD cords as well

Good capacity for a good price. Speed is a little on the low side but works decently.

Lot of storage for the price but about half the speed of other drives.
