I'm a fan of the Seagate brand. Best Buy total tech price made this a good deal for me.

This is a very good external hard drive that provides a lot of storage space and is surprisingly small. The only nitpick I can give is that it can run loud sometimes, but an old spinny drive like this should just be used for backups and storage anyway, so it's not a big deal.

For data holders, this is a very solid external hard drive. Well, it can be a little noisy when being accessed, this is a solid value play on a dollars per gigabyte metric. It may be obvious, but keep in mind that these drives need a power supply so be sure to account for that win planning your purchase.

These Seagate drives have been hitting on cost per terabyte. Not sure of reliability time will tell but so far so good!

I have purchased two of these for my office. They protect my expensive equipment and buy me time when I lose power.

 I found this to be a good purchase, basically because of the value and the size.

I know all drives have some chance of failure, but so far in my experience Seagate is the only drives that have failed on me. I didnt want to purchase Seagate again but this 18tb was the right price and the space I needed. Well it failed 9 months in!! 12tbs of data at risk of loss. Seagate support is horrible spent an hour on the phone with CS for an advanced replacement the agent messed up the serial and had to redo the order which took another half hour of waiting on hold. Now almost a month later I still dont have my advanced replacement while my drive sits at risk of total data loss. It was supposed to arrive this week but the label has just been created and not shipped out yet for a week now. Never again will I buy a seagate product again this has to be my worst tech rma replacement and at a significant product price point. Dont be like me and pass on the best buy warranty if you do buy this. I considered it at check out knowing the possibility this would fail but trusted it would be fine or seagate support would be competent. Definitely kicking myself for not getting the best buy warranty. Horrible slow noisy product!!! Stay away from seagate!

My work has these 10 year old Drobos that are a pain and running out of space. Attempt of upgrading the drives in size didnt help. I got 2 of the 18 TB versions and backed up the entire Drobo with a TB to spare until we get a Synology with over 200 TB. Note both drives are set up for backup incase someone knocks 1 and renders it inaccessible. Right now i have them back in their box.

Had purchased this particular 18 Terabyte External Hard Drive to store Videos and other Files. It was the best purchase that I had made. Have had no trouble with the External Hard Drive. Highly Recommend It!!!!!

Seagate is a great brand, the last drive I bought was WD and it fell 2 feet onto carpet and got corrupted when I’ve traveled with Seagate and never had an issue

The drive has performed flawlessly and has very high data transfer speeds. Unfortunately the drive comes formatted with the exFAT file system, which isn't recognized by my online backup - so I had to reformat the drive.

Very good external hard drive, I bought 2 so far and haven't given me any issues. Run pretty quiet and does storage of a lot of files.

I have a westenhouse that is nosey and slow the seagate is quieter and there is never buffering when I play saved video files stored on the external hard drive. I will keep the westenhouse as a backup

Works well for a Plex server. Makes a bit of noise while indexing/reading etc. so don't place it near where you sleep.

Love the new 18TB Seagate hard drive. It is replacing 2 Drobo S RAID systems I have been worried about for years.

excellent hard drive, biggest one ive ever bought, its still going strong and i hope it never fails, i did format it to NTFS so it would be more reliable for windows pc

Plenty of space. I wish it was a little bit quicker on transfers. But overall it is nice.
