    A needed accessory for gamers

Let's be honest 500gb and even just 1tb of internal memory isn't going to cut it anymore. If you are a gamer with a nice size library of games, odds are that you are going to run out of memory (now that games are required to be installed on your hard drives before you can play them). With 2tb added to your memory your mind will be more at ease when it comes to worrying about running out of memory. It is so easy to use as well, just plug it in to the box of your Xbox one (or 360) and BAM more memory! The only complaint that I have is that the only reason why it is a little more expensive than a regular Seagate external drive is because it has the Microsoft Xbox color and brand on it. If you can spare the extra money go for it, but if not just buy the regular 2tb Seagate external drive and save some cash. They work exactly the same.

    Grow Your Xbox Game Library

Installation is very simple (insert the cable) and following Xbox tabs will allow you to transfer your games from Internal to External drive. The transfer process is a lot faster than I expected. I was 70% full on my 1 TB and the 2 TB hard drive brought me down to the 20% range. These drives are a must with the memberships that allow you to own/rent multiple games per year (EA Access, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Gold). They are also becoming very important with the advent of bigger file sizes (Xbox X 4k games). I would probably get the 4 TB if you are upgrading an Xbox X and stick with the 2TB for Xbox One and X Box One S unless you own a huge library or plan on future proofing yourself. Be aware that they also now have a white version of this hard drive that comes with a trial for X Box Game Pass. You may also be able to get similar results with other non X box branded hard drives.

Honestly I was a little hesitant on spending the money for this item, but I must tell you that it became a Must Buy item and now I am the proud owner of 3 of these (one for each xbox). The Xbox does not come with enough memory space for the games that are currently coming out. Nobody wants to have only 3 games on their xbox, and the last thing you or your child wants to do is delete their past games and the progress they have on those games just to be able to play their newly purchased game. That is when the external hard drive comes into place. It is easy to install and use, and now there is no longer anymore arguments/pouting over what older games are going to be deleted to be able to play the newest game. Highly recommended for all gamers.

4 star since I have had one of the three I bought go bad. Best Buy replaced it under warrantee, no issues. This drive works well, easy to setup and move existing games over. Slight performance hit on my Elite but negligible on my other Xbone. I had one HDD fail within the first 6 months, would recommend the extended warrantee for this. Unfortunately lost all my game saves, but hey, I wanted to start over playing Skyrim anyway, right? Games are getting bigger, annoyed that the consoles still come with 500GB drives, no where near enough for a half dozen of the popular games.

With a few large games (Elder Scrolls, and some popular MMO's) the 500GB hard drive started to fill quickly with the recent sale they had in the Xbox store. This drive was very easy to install - just read the box on the screen and it does the work for you with a few easy to understand (asked in non technical language) questions when there are options that affect how or what the drive is being used for. Once the drive was formatted, then it was extremely easy to just go to the games / apps menu and choose which were being moved to the segate and which would remain on the console. Thank you seagate and microsoft for making this so simple.

The only real negative is that it is a bit more expensive than some other external drives. On the plus side, you get a good chunk of storage, games actually load faster than on the internal drive, and it literally takes about one minute to set it up. Moving existing games to the new drive takes a little while, but it does it in the background so you can keep using your Xbox. I do wish they offered it other colors. Bright green is a tad jarring. I would have thought at least black and maybe white. Still, no complaints. I got it on sale which brought the price down to what a standard (generic brand) external drive would cost, except you get a better quality drive

on the Xbox One, its very easy to fill the memory up, especially on the 500GB version. This hard drive gives you 6x more usable memory than what the system comes out of the box with, and the quality is superb. it only took about an hour to transfer my entire internal hard drive over to the 2TB, and the games seem to run better off this external drive than the system drive. If you are constantly removing game installs to make space for new ones, this is a must have.

I've been using this HD for almost 2 years now, and this has clearly been the best video game related purchase ever. It has run solid and the extra space is literally game changing. Even with the 1 TB xbox one I would only have room for a handful of games but with this no more deleting games to make room for others. Even if you don't buy this one (and there are some that are less expensive), get an external HD for your console. I can tell you this is a good one though and I like the green case.

Though it may sound like a lot of space, 500 GB fills up fast, especially with the amount of memory required by games when downloading to your system. The external hard drive of 2 TB is a great solution. I was able to connect and move my games from my Xbox One to the external drive with ease. You even get a change to name your hard drive. Furthermore, you can take your drive and game (if needed), with you to hook up to another Xbox One. At $100, it may be a bit pricey for some, but the additional space is worth it as you will be allowed to download more games. Be on the lookout of for sales; I got mines $10 off. I hope this helps.

I got this for my daughter because she ran out of space on her Xbox 360. She has Xbox Live Games for Gold where she gets 2 downloadable games for free each month for her Xbox 360 with her membership. She could not download any of her free games because she ran out of space, so I needed to find a solution for her. This is the perfect solution for her! The external hard drive is thin & small & fits easily next to her console. It holds 2 Terabytes which will give her plenty of extra room to download any games! It connects easily to her Xbox 360 with a provided USB cable. It is works with the Xbox one too!

I read the reviews online and decided to give this a try mostly because my circumstances didn't fall under the same where I saw complaints. Most people who complain about this unit seem to move it around a lot and disconnect it. Mine sits right next to my Xbox One console on the entertainment center and there it shall stay. So, if you want lots of room, to speed up your Xbox One, and quick and easy setup, this is a great hard drive. I even have a gamer's subscription and it downloads and manages those with ease as my default save location. For the price, the quality is fantastic.

I definitely needed more storage for my Xbox 360. FYI, 2 gb is the maximum external storage capacity for Xbox 360 (as of the time of writing this review). With Microsoft finally updating the 360 with external hard drive support I began looking into options. I could have chosen other options, including less expensive ones. I just liked the green skin of this product. Not to mention it was already supported by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 - so a little bit of peace of mind when it comes with compatibility. Again, there are other options out there as well. But I consider this a good buy.

BF4 on Xbox 360 doesn't work with this HD

I bought BF4 and the Seagate HD for Xbox but received error regarding needing an Xbox HD. I contacted Xbox support and they told me that BF4 will only play on an internal drive (specifically NOT this one) and offered no free internal hard drive since I already purchased the $100 Xbox HD. If you only need storage space, buy another less expensive HD. Xbox and BestBuy, please mark the Xbox HD appropriately. I will see if Best Buy allows me to return the HD...

Kids were pestering me for additional storage and instead of just getting an external SSD, we saw this and figured it is "intended" for the XBOX, so why not. They seem very pleased with its ease of use, meaning the games and data seem to load quickly onto it and there have been zero issues with game play. The system picked it up quickly and reflected the increase in both available and used disk space. Hopefully there will be enough memory as next time I'm sure they will pester me for an entirely new system! LOL.

So this works great with the Xbox One as you should expect of any product with the Xbox logo on it. It has great storage capacity at 2tb, and my only complaint is compared to other non Xbox logo external storage devices that also work just as well, this is a expensive. If having the Xbox logo appeals to you, or just makes you feel safer than trusting other options that work just as well, get this one, otherwise look for another brand option.

This seagate drive works flawlessly with the XBox One. I have a 500 TB version so it didn't take me long to run out of space on it. Now I have the option to install to either drive. The only negative is if you fill up your primary XBox Drive and the game needs to download an update. If you don't have enough space it won't put the newly downloaded content on the secondary drive. You have to make space by deleting game content on the main drive to fit the new content which was originally installed on the main drive. Not a big deal. Drive works great so far had it for about a month now. No problems.

Perfectly does exactly what you need it to. Plug it in and do a quick format in the xbox settings and you’ve got 2TB of additional space on top of your original 1TB or 500GB. Its nice that it adds to your original storage and doesn’t replace it. You can also choose to make this your default download drive so you wont have to worry about managing downloads between the two drives. Download away. Pretty much a necessity since many Xbox games can come close to a 100GB download.

I bought this external hard drive for my son’s Xbox One, as he needed more memory for games. It’s perfect! The only reason it’s 4 and not 5 stars is there were no instructions for formatting, nor an explanation that there are 2 possible formats with the Media format being the default. Once I looked it up online, though, it was super easy to format to save games on. It also has more than enough memory at 2tb, and is easy to hook up as it’s just plugging in the USB cord that comes with it, and following the prompts to download.

I read many reviews and it seemed like it was mixed but I gave it a shot after talking to a tech. I do not regret it at all it works so smoothly I use xbox gamepads as well as purchasing several games and movies and have yet to experience any lag, delay, or disconnect and I've owned mine for about 2 months now. Definite must have especially for those who do not want to have to go thru the format process when buying a Seagate or other external harddrives

I'd been looking to buy an external hard drive for my Xbox one for a little while, and had been reviewing a few options. When I came across this while looking around my local Best Buy, I was skeptical at first. But upon seeing it was less a hundred dollars AND an Xbox product, I figured I couldn't go wrong. The unit is light, fast, doesn't require an external power supply, and best of all can be set up simply by plugging it into your Xbox One. For the price, I'd highly recommend this for those looking for a quality external drive.
