The box contained the OneTouch SSD along with the connection cord. There is no type of pouch or carrying case. There is a quick start manual included with simple instructions, an offer for mylio create, and an offer for Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan. One of the features of this SSD is size. I am impressed with the overall size of the SSD - You could line three of these up side by side and they would be that of an iPhone XR. The top of the drive has a fabric material to add an appeal. Aesthetics, an odd aspect to consider while searching for an external SSD, but I am pleased between size and presentation. The other consideration with size, is practicality. Considering the SSD requires a cable to connect with a computer, I am unsure what the purpose of such a small SSD is? I appreciate that I could easily carry this drive around or keep it near for quick file transfer or backup; however, since one also is required to keep track of the connection cable I do not see the true potential in such a small presentation. I began using the drive with a MacBook Pro. I was automatically given the option to set up the drive with Time Machine. This would be a fantastic, easy setup if someone desired to initiate this process. You can defer using this option. You are then directed to initiate Start Here to register the product. Using internet connection, one is able to register the OneTouch SSD after reading and agreeing to the terms and conditions, privacy statement, and optional offers. The optional offers are actually optional. There is a getting started link that contains the full manual. The full manual is broken down into a user friendly interface. The manual explains that the Seagate OneTouch SSD is preformatted exFAT. This allows one to use the hard drive with both Mac or Windows computers out of the box. Of course you do have the option to re-format the drive. The guide has a very well put section on how to choose a file system format that is right for you. Then walks you through how to manually format the SSD if that is what you choose. There is also a section on how to safely remove the SSD from the computer if one is new to using any type of external drive. The option to download Seagate Toolkit is given, which facilitates creation of sync folders on your SSD that mirror folders on your Mac. The Toolkit is an easy to navigate program that allows one to set up a “Sync Plus Plan”, choose computer folders, drive folder to send to, and the option to have one-way or two-way synching. Ultimately, at many points during the initial use of this drive, I felt that Seagate did a wonderful job at designing an interface that would allow even a novice to efficiently use the OneTouch SSD to properly backup their desired files or facilitate ease of file transfer. The USB 3 and SSD combination provides fast and efficient files access and transfer.

This tiny portable drive gets the job done

I've been using the 1 TB Seagate One Touch portable SSD with my Windows 10 laptop for over a week now, and it's proven to be a great asset. Backing up essential files is easy and at 1 TB, the drive has room to store additional files for on-the-go transfers between PCs, even allowing a hookup to a media streaming device like Roku or a home router as a media server. I'm a person who used to carry around a bare 3.25" SSD to use as a backup, and I always wished someone would make a simple enclosure to make that practice safer and easier to use. This drive delivers on that need, and smaller than the old laptop-sized form factor as well. The drive is small and stylish, with one side embellished by a handsome fabric panel and the rest of the device finished in stylish textured aluminum. A small fabric loop is attached to one end to allow the drive to be attached to a carabiner or key chain clip. The One Touch is the perfect size for portability without being so small that it gets lost in a bag. It's about the same width as a stack of maybe 7 credit cards, but a little shorter lengthwise. A single connection port lies along one of the long edges, and the drive comes with a quality 6-inch long cable that connects to the port and includes with a USB male end on one side. My only gripe is there is no indicator light to show that the drive is connected and/or transferring data. Setup is easy and done online, where you can register your drive, sign up for free trail software (including 2 months of Adobe's photographer package, and access Seagate's Toolkit backup software. I downloaded the Toolkit program and set up a backup of my main work folder, which includes over 120 GB of important files I wanted to make sure I had a copy of. Once set up, the Toolkit software performs the backup for you and gets an icon on your PC's toolbar notification area. As you can imagine, transferring 120 GB takes a while, even over USB 3.0. Thankfully, it's easy to pause and restart the backup if it hasn't finished when you're ready to close your PC and get on the move. The backup process picks up exactly where you left off and finishes in its own time. The best feature of the Toolkit software allows you to set whether and how you'd like to keep files on the One Touch drive even if you delete them from your PC. One option is 2-way syncing, which either removes files from both locations when you delete the main copy, or moves those files to a special archive folder on the One Touch, should you choose. If you turn off 2-way syncing, your files are kept on the One Touch after you delete them from your PC. All-in-all, this drive serves a great need to have more space (I only have a 256 GB m.2 SSD in my laptop), while allowing me to decide how my backups are handled, when they run, and what I need copies of. The drive comes with a 3-year limited warranty. If it lasts those 3 years and more, it deserves 5 stars.

This One Touch SSD from Seagate is not the cheapest portable drive out there, but it is definitely one of the smallest and fastest out there. The build quality is really good and sturdy, so it’s reassuring that it will hold up when used almost like a pendrive - on the go where drops and scratches are usual occurrences. The textile outer layer is good to hold on. The 1TB space in such a small form-factor is the highlight - I was surprised when saw the drive physically. The USB 3.0 connectivity makes file transfers super fast. The drive comes with installer for the Seagate Sync Plus software, which offers continuous backup when the drive is plugged in, which is a great feature. I usually opt for discrete backups, and used the old-school Windows Backup and Restore utility to make backup. The Seagate One Touch SSD portable drive is a really good drive for everyday use. The fast rate of SSD and small footprint makes is stand out from other solutions out in the market. I was hoping they would include a USB C cable along with the included USB A one, since more and more ports are USB C nowadays.

The One Touch SSD is a external drive with a small form factor that gets the job done (and in a third of the time). I like the look and feel of this drive alot. It's small enough to be able to take it anywhere yet, big enough so you won't lose it. Trust me this thing is small! I've been using the drive exclusively with my Mac. I edit alot of video on my laptop, and the files tend to very large so I usually have to use an external drive while editing. This thing is perfect for transfering large video files and being able to edit off the external drive. My old drive took 1 min and 18 sec to transfer a 12 GB file while the One Touch did it in 30 sec. Almost a third of the time! Overall this is a must have accessory for any content creator, or anyone needing extra fast storage with a small footprint.

This little guy packs a big punch. Love the size and lightweight feel. No more carrying big, bulky, heavy external devices. I’m hooked on this OneTouch Ultra Portable Storage. Storing photos, videos, documents, music all on separate folders created by right clicking and creating ana naming new folders is easy and keeps everything organized for easy finding later. It really is the size (length & height) of a credit card with a little added thickness. Transferring from a PC/laptop to the One Touch and then from the One Touch to another device is simple and smooth. The One Touch can travel easily in a pocket or along with your laptop. I’ve been waiting for something this compact to come out because of the convenience.

This thing is TINY!!! Fits on your pocket. Any pocket. It’s smaller than a playing card. A pocket sized SSD is unbeatable. It’s naturally fast and perfect for a creator on the go or if you just like to have mobility. Use this for an Xbox or a laptop and have an instant boost to capacity without lugging around a heavy and fragile HDD.

We live in an era where technology is constantly getting faster, smaller, and more powerful. This Seagate SSD is a perfect example of something i never would have imagined even 5 years ago but is now available and outstanding. When compared to something like my wallet (see photo) you truly appreciate the diminutive size of this device. And with a terabyte of storage you can easily backup what is most important to you with room to spare. You’ll want to make sure you keep the supplied cable close by, as it does have a unrecognized plug on one end but is super speed USB on the other. The drive works right out of the box and does come with some additional offers for Adobe Creative Cloud and a few other helper apps. Seagate doesn’t force anything on you and registration was quick and painless.

The write times were pretty speedy. I transferred numerous RAW files, MP3, and MP4 totaling around 250ishGb. It took less than half an hour through a USB 3.0 port and most of that time was just creating folders and selecting/organizing files. A big bonus was that I was able to use this on my Pixel 3. Although it must be reformatted first and requires a separate USB Type-C adapter. I didn't care for the cloth side. Not that there was anything wrong with it. I just prefer to stick Post It notes on external drives to label them. Thankfully the other side is a smooth surface. All in all it works very well. This is great for a photo enthusiast like myself who is constantly transferring and sharing RAW and JPEG files from place to place.
