I mean, it's a Seasonic platinum PSU - what do you expect? Fairly expensive, but it runs basically silently, it's efficient, and the full modularity is nice for keeping your cables tidy. I do wish it included some 1-1 cables instead of just daisy chained molex/sata/pcie ones, but that's just a personal preference for neatness. All things considered, a PSU isn't something I'd go cheap on, and this one and the GX-850 are both extremely solid choices.

Works great so far. I have a RTX 3090 and 3060 Ti on hand, and this has everything you need to run one. I've only tested hooking it up to a 1660 Ti so far, but I know that it would work fine with a 3090. You need anywhere from 750 to 1000 watts minimum for a full system with a 3090, and this card has more than enough juice for most systems. (The 3090 FE has a 350 watt TDP, but some of the custom cards are over 400 watts at this point ... just depends on whatever else you have in your system.) It has a PSU tester in the box that's very convenient if you want to run/test the PSU without having a motherboard plugged in. This little adapter just shorts the green wire with a black ground wire which you can do with a paperclip, but it's a nice little bonus that they're including an adapter these days. I'm using it on my test bench without a motherboard at the moment. It appears to be very quiet so far, and I haven't noticed any coil whine. My environment is kinda noisy, so YMMV. The reviews/benchmarks out there look good. I don't have any complaints. If it's in stock, grab it!

Seasonic is one of the best power supply companies out there. The parts inside this PX-850 are all high quality with all Japanese capacitors. The unit is absolutely SILENT at idle and fans don't even kick in until it hits 30% load. And even when it comes on, you can barely hear it. There is a switch in the back that allows you to switch between the fan always running and only when it hits the threshold. For the sake of longevity, I kept mine always on. I can't tell the difference in noise level from about 3 feet away. For reference, my PC is next to me on my table. As this is a Platinum 80+ rated unit, it is over 90% efficient when you are running in it's sweet range of about 50-60% power draw. I immediately noted that my PC idle going from 180 watts down to about 153 watts after switching out the Apevia Gold 80+ 800 watt PS that came with my CyberPowerPC that I also bought here from BestBuy. (The OEM PS ran at full tilt regardless of the load and the noise drove me nuts!) And with only quality parts inside the Seasonic, you get a full 10 year warranty. That just tells you how much confidence they have in this particular design. If you are able to get your hands on this, I suggest you buy it right away. Power supplies have gone up in price and gone down in supply dramatically during the pandemic. That and you are also competing with people who build PCs to mine cryptocurrency. I was honestly surprised that BB actually carried this hard to find model. I believe I bought the last one in my region as it was no longer available for purchase either online or in store after I checked out.

I replaced an 8-9 year old Corsair HX 750W PSU with this new one. I think this unit is an excellent offering for those running power hungry components such as Nvidia 3000 series GPUs and Intel 10/11th gen CPUs. This unit is very compact and the cables are decent. I had no problem working the 24 pin behind the case cable bar. This unit has a hybrid mode for the fan, a PSU test piece so you know your unit is good before sinking hours into cable management. My only complain, it I had to give one is that their is no bag for the cables! My old Corsair one had a velcro bag for the cables! Other than that, I will have to wait 5 years to see if this unit holds up but my initial impression is very high. Well done Seasonic!

This unit is completely silent. Extremely easy to setup. Way smaller then I expected to. Operates flawlessly. Seasonic even left a note about their use of plastic bag holding the cables instead of the fabric bag because of covid-19. I wish the unit came with singular pcie cables instead of daisy chained ones but the unit seems extremely high quality and I have no doubts it will be trouble free for many years to come. Seasonic has earned my business, as long as they keep producing quality products, you really can't go wrong with them

PSU has been great. No issues. Remember to ALWAYS test it with a psu self tester for at least 24 hours before installing it Into your desktop (also clears out the new psu smell you dont want to breathe in) While I dont have a 3080 card, it has 3 cables to plug into that card. Do not use a splitter cable for the psu, that could strain it. 3 cables from the psu to 3080 will be better. Definitely recommended.

This is a quality Psu with a long warranty. I mine with it. I run 3 nvidia 3070 gpus with it very well. I own Seasonic focus 850watts platinum I own seasonic focus 850watts gold. Both purchase from Best Buy. I also have the 1000 watt platinum and the 1000 watt gold models all are very good. They work well for mining and well for gaming

10 year warranty, platinum efficiency, made by a company that actually makes power supplies, compact in size, and 850w. Perfect combination as 850 should be more than enough for most builds and will be perfect for those looking to get a 3080 or 3090 in the future.

Pretty loyal Seasonic customer. Have two old 650 W Gold Seasonic powers supplies. One 11 years old and another about 8 years old. Both running reliably with zero issues. Both units are vey quiet. Replaced my 8 year old unit with this one with no issue. Internal cable plugs are the same as the old unit. Whisper quiet as my old units. Only upgraded because I built a new system and it was the last component to upgrade. Could've taken my chances with the the old unit but had the upgrade itch and Best Buy had good sale for this unit. We'll see if the Platinum power efficiency provides any energy savings. Probably not noticeable though.

I needed a updated PSU above my thermaltake 80+ Gold 750 Toughpower Grand. Which is awesome but dated. This one has oodles of good reviews and it is 850 platinum. Goal being to support a Radeon 6800xt as I read they can be sensitive to power. I will keep the PSU as it is a good part and will serve well for my current rig: i7 9700k/Geforce 3060 tufganing card. Definitely suggest this psu for a solid step up. I returned the 6800xt as it barely can keep up with my 3060 if I turn on ray tracing, which, why wouldn't I?

Replaced a thermaltake 850w psu that also worked well - but was only gold certified. Best Buy had this in stock and I was looking for a titanium - 850w psu. This was about 1 inch shorter - compared to the Corsair and Thermaltake psu and higher wattage.

A great power supply from one of the top name in PC power. Thoughtful modular design, very good power efficiency, pretty good documentation. This power supply has switch that enables a hybrid fan mode where the fan only runs when necessary. This is a great feature for people who want a quiet build. Some of the modular power cables are a little stiff and hard to work with but they can be replaced with high quality aftermarket parts. Comes with a 10 year warranty, which speaks to the quality of this part.

Great quality unit. Has been reliable with zero hiccups for two years now. Cable management is nice.

I bought this particular product because other PSU prices are much higher than this price here. Fairly attractive price for a platinum PSU. I installed it unto my PC and it is really quiet! So quiet in fact that the only thing I can hear are my case fans. Plus this includes a 10 year warrenty, so I am happy about that.

pretty good power supply. one thing to note is if you're using the hybrid mode, you must have the fan pointing towards the motherboard or up basically for heat to dissipate naturally. it doesn't say when hybrid mode is enabled on the unit itself, you must read the manual (it's defaulted enabled btw).

I always trust seasonic psus and this one is no different. I already had a 750w gold from seasonic which worked amazingly but needed a higher wattage psu to run my newest build. Love seasonic and their 10year warranty is awesome as well.

Very quiet power supply even under full load. No problems at all. Exactly what you need from a power supply. Paired with EVGA RTX 3080ti FTW3 ultra and Ryzen 9 5900x overclocked with no issues.

I was upgrading my Lenovo Legion desktop from a RTX 3070 to an RTX 3080 and needed some extra wattage to accommodate. The fit was fine in terms of the PSU in the case, but the 24 pin motherboard cable on this box is a thick beast, it would not fit into my cable management area behind the back side of the case. I had no choice but to run the cable through the main portion of the case In the end, I bought a new case. I'm not sure if this is common to all 850W+ power supplies, but it may be worth noting. This is a good a unit as anything, setup and forget it.
